  1. -The Nobles & The House.
  2.
  3. The Nobles are the remnants of the Second Child Nobles. They are a faction of somewhat rich land owners who don't like to form alliances or relations with most other nations or groups. They are believed to be in league with the "House" a shady organization of unknown purpose. There are mere whispers of its name, and barely any decent collective information.
  4.
  5. [ History ] Nobles from the Second Child line. They were far more conservative about their line, and preserved their "purity". Even today they have great strictness about this thing. The "purity" shows in Vision. A higher grade of Vision is the indication of purity in this case. The Nobles, at first maintained good relationship with the Citadel, and had some connections with other factions too. However, the cataclysm which caused great damage to the Citadel, also damaged the Nobles, these, far more. Citadel couldn't help however, and neither could other factions due to them having sustained great damage themselves. This, was interpreted as vile intent and led to the isolation of nobles. However, the calamity reduced the sixty to seventy some noble houses to a mere dozen or something. The other option, detailed in the Arma Alarclis, is the one of a savage war between the two groups of nobles. The need for expansion arose. Thus, each noble stronghold or mansion had settlements and villages formed around it. Now, an expansive set of villages and towns, but nonetheless lacking population density and focus, the Nobles struggle to maintain their prime resource. Land.
  6.
  7. [ Economy ] The nobles themselves fed the economy of the towns and the towns, once developing started working together and grow economically. The Nobles collected tax from them and maintained themselves. Mercenary guilds depending on whether they favor the law of the Citadel or oppose it are required to pay a percentage of their rewards for any job, mostly 3-4% to keep doing their job.
  8.
  9. [ Politics ] Noble families have been lucky or wise, or most likely both to not have reached the point where two separate groups would form and murder one another. This would likely lead to extinction, and easily enable the seizing of the land from the Citadel. Each family caters to its own interests. The other, less known fragment however is the presence of the House. A group of assassins, formed willingly by one or two nobles from each family, back when they were still dozens of clans, the House is added to each time some Noble has two children but doesn't want to have them conflict later, or when some misguided youth believes he is going to assist his family by being a badass assassin operating from the shadows. In truth, no House member knows who is hiring them. The leaders rely the missions to the assassins who mostly disguise themselves as the new butler, or as some random beggar. Some other ones break in when the target is sleeping and murder him, mostly in the sense to send a message to the family. Their personalities and mindset is carefully guided into something that will later, form a Vision that is of nature, useful to the House. The Nobles are subtle, yes, but they do get their hands dirty. A lot.
  10.
  11. [ Military ]. There is barely any coherent military force for what is known. Individual noble guard forces, mercenary guild and the fabled House which might not even exist.
  12.
  13. Powers: Nobles tend to develop decent Vision powers. The fabled "House" members as well. Mind is also a favorite, whilst Heart is somewhat less so. Body is useful for House members, but actual Nobles don't favor it as much. Soul is the rarest.
