- It really did little justice to the route. The only people who say it was well done didn't like Kurugaya in the first place, and thought it'd be a good idea to just shoehorn her character as a setup for Rin's route, which wound up being butchered anyway.
- I mean, the whole motive behind Kurugaya looping the world and everything didn't even feel like the VN, and I still can't even completely make SENSE of what the anime was trying to do. She was looping the world to "spend time with" so that the dream would never end, yet she never actually did anything during that cycle of endless June 20ths. With her causing the time loop, and there as so little tension and buildup for Riki and Kurugaya character going the time loops, and there was more time spent on the comedy than on Kurugaya, that by the end of it, the only thing the audience had to remember were the measly fireworks they managed to adapt, which was ruined for me because of the Rinfag shipping and teardrops during the fireworks. Her character and the purpose of the route was so utterly lost and all over the place, that all it did was TRY to ease into the next route, Rin's, without even giving Kurugaya's character to really shine.
- And somehow people try to defend her arc, the adaptation, blame pacing, say it was better in the VN, etc, just because they didn't like the original route or give a fuck about what the story of it was.
- If I'm understanding the route right, Kurugaya's willpower caused the loop because of the emotional attachment she gained through fulfilling her desire to feel emotions, and the loop was supposed to be her attempt to be with Riki and not let the dream reset like it does with the other routes. I found that scenario and interpretation to be pretty tense and heartbreaking by the end of reading it.
- The anime is just: "Wow, it's fucking nothing." I was literally going "What the hell?" towards the end of episode 3, because nothing substantial happened.
