  1. One night, Kouji walked into LeBlanc to find a woman with a set of XXII-shaped hairclips at the counter, one arm folded at the table and the other holding a cup of coffee. “It’s all very eso-” she continued, before her vivid red eyes turned toward the door. “Oh, welcome home,” he heard Sojiro say, but for the moment, his guardian seemed to be far off in the distance while his new acquaintance felt so close he could wrap his arms around her.
  2. “Ah, so you’re Kouji Akagi, are you,” the red-eyed woman said, her hand bringing her drink to her lips. As she downed her drink, Kouji nodded and walked toward her, drinking in her presence. Setting her cup down, she said “Minako Arisato, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Her words rung in his ears like wind-blown chimes. Her smile, her voice, and the high cut of her skirt made the widest ripples in his thoughts as he took a seat by her.
  3. As he set down his bag, Morgana leapt out and down to the floor. “Ooh, and who’s this little guy?” Minako cooed, eyes drifting away from Kouji and to the cat. “His name’s Morgana,” the messy-haired boy said. “He insists he’s a human, but he loves it when you treat him like a cat.” His feline companion tried to glare at him, but his attempt was hindered by the soft hand of Sojiro’s guest. “I honestly have no idea what those two do when he brings him to school,” Sojiro himself commented. “I was expecting a complaint or two from Shujin. Something about bringing a pet to class.”
  4. “It’s good that you trust me so much,” Kouji said in mock-betrayal. He could practically hear the middle-aged man smirking, but he didn’t bother to confirm. There was a woman with bright eyes, an inviting smile, and about seven or eight years on him sitting right beside him and damn if he was going to make sure of that when there was someone like her in his sights. “Jeez, Joker,” Morgana sighed as he enjoyed Minako’s affection. “For a mysterious Phantom Thief, you can be so predictable at times.”
  5. “Hush, you,” Kouji curtly scolded, his expression unchanging. Minako chuckled and the faintest of smiles snuck its way onto his face. She finally let go of Morgana, who went on his way to the attic. “Well, this has all been rather fun,” Sojiro said, already disappointing Kouji. “But I’m going be closing down for the night, soon, so say your goodbyes.” Minako nodded and pushed herself away, picking up her bright red bag. “It was fun chatting with you all,” she said. “Hope we’ll have more fun the next time I come here!” Kouji watched her walk outside. As soon the door closed, he followed after her, leaving Sojiro to sigh behind him.
  6. He walked out into the cool night air, spotting Minako’s ponytail and short skirt in the distance. “Hey,” he called out to her, walking in her direction. His new acquaintance turned around, a curious expression on her face. “You want to go out sometime?” Minako blinked two times before a laughing fit came over her. In that moment, Kouji knew the consequences of his hasty pursuit and accepted them, mumbling his acknowledgement of her rejection and making his way back to the café, until he heard a “Yes” somewhere in Minako’s giggling.
  7. “…yes?” He questioned, turning his head around to look at Minako. “Yes,” the bubbly woman repeated, with a playful smile on her lips. Another impish grin came over Kouji’s features. He laughed a bit himself. “So when are you free?”
  8. “Tomorrow, after work,” Minako answered, walking towards him.
  9. “And where do you want to go,” Kouji asked, watching her come close. “A restaurant? The batting cages? A-”
  10. His breath hitched as a soft hand brushed away a lock of hair and across his cheek. He stared into bold red eyes that had previously shown a lust for life, but now betrayed the more infamous sort of lust stirring within the lovely lady standing before him. “I know what you’re aiming for,” Minako said, a note of mischief within her voice. “If you’d like, we could spend our date just hanging around…”
  11. She stood a bit on her toes, her lips almost touching Kouji’s ear. “…my apartment.”
