Defending and treating injured in Thalassia

[18:00] {NARRATION} It's a beautiful day outside. The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming.
On days like these, people in Crafthold...

Are enjoying their time together. Word of the Undead Legion has reached the ears of many, given the horde does not move with stealth or care. It has spent weeks riding through the mountains from the rumored Skeleton Tower that rises higher and higher each day with aims to charge across the only bridge that stretches across the southern river and into the merchant city.

As this particular day went on, the temperate air of the trade city began to dry. A wave of heat, carrying with it the putrid scent of death, wafted through the streets upon the wind. Upon the northern horizon, a brownish smog grew thicker and thicker, something that marked the signature approach of what was once Arthur Rowan's army of thralls.

Crafthold had always been a place of variety, where people who came from all over Agartha could come together and speak. Would the city enjoy this luxury in its time of need?

[18:10] "Well it looks like the rumors were true." Sugarboy would mutter to himself as he stood up from his perch on the wooden fence. He'd draw his dark oaken staff adorned with bones of the damned as he joined the files of magi and warriors prepared to defend the bastion that anyone was welcome to.

Wails of the fallen would echo in his head, a cursed staff given to him by a disgraced chieftain. Their screams would only serve to drive him to prevent his allies from falling in battle.

"And here I was, enjoying a nice cigarette with some good friends, got a new mithril pegleg. It's been a good day." He'd muse with a chuckle. He'd been scoping Crafthold out as a place to move to should Gehenna fall or become plagued with ignorance like he found in other factions.

"Let's seeif we can keep it a good day, eh fam?" He'd elbow a couple between him with a laugh. He fought undead hoardes before, and this would be no different.

[18:24] {NARRATION} The Legion rounded a corner, a force that had only grown with each defeat they had suffered at the hands of the living upon Agartha. With each retreat they had collected bodies, with each failure they had simply grown larger. Fighting the dead worked like that, and once they were left entirely unattended, the Legion had only thrived.

The force sent to Crafthold was a unique one; the soldiers were not simply footmen with spears and axes. Many had been outfitted with flaming weapons doused in occultic influences and continuous electrical currents that charged their bodies with heinous heat.

The smog that had risen into the sky could be traced down to the thick smoke that was billowing out of many of the undead soldiers very bodies.

There were ready to charge headlong into Crafthold's defense.

They were ready to turn Thalassia to ash.
[18:30] The forces of Thalassia weren't the most organized squadron, all coming from different backgrounds as they marched against the undead. Sugarboy was used to fighting with tribals, so the disorganization didn't bother him in the slightest. Nah, Sugarboy was a water magi after all, the epitome of going with the flow .

He found himself beside Renegin and Roanna, two friends of his. "Well alright then, stick close to me famski's and I'll keep us up. Don't hold back and I'll kiss your booboo's when we win this shit."

Blood would begin swirling around him, a cloud of steam as his life essence began to bubble around him. Sugarboy, admittedly, wasn't the best duelist. But with his friends beside him, their lives on the line? This is where he shined.

One last drag of his cigarette before spitting it out, dashing it under his mithrilboot as he set his sights on one of their generals.

"Let's fuck it up, fam!"

[18:59] Once more Roanna had the good grace to be able to duck out of the fight as things seemed to go sour for her. Freezing cold and other damages wracked her form, but she never fell down to serious injury. Within a fair bit, she was capable of regenerating the damage to her body with her magic and did the same for her allies.

Still, a great many of the undead were being brought down.

For once in her life, she began relentlessly desecrating the corpses. In bursts of holy energy, their mana circuits were fried as best as she could manage to keep them down for good.

While she wouldn't be able to resurrect them in their state, she was making sure that whatever tricks Arthur had, they wouldn't be used to return them from the grave as shambling bodies once again.

"Is it over? Damn those things take a beating and kept bashing us...

Rene, are you alright, dear? Sugarboy?"

[19:01] And the doctor thought that Gehennan's were chaotic, this was a goddamn clusterfuck. Meators raining down, the grass alight with fires of all varieties, floods left and right. It was so hard to keep track of everything.

The best Sugarboy could do was have faith in his comrades. Renigen would be downed by the undead savages so it was just Roanna and the him surfing on these dead fools.

Admittedly, these soldiers though mindless, hurt way more than the wolves or behemoth he fought in the corrupted woods. Sugarboy kept his cool, the battle field thinning out for a moment as he sustained his own injuries. Holy water would wash over him as he continued laying a barrage of boiling blood and water into the enemy.

He'd regroup with the mercenary and follower of Sareen. "I'm hanging in tough, I'm gonna stick closer to Rene so he doesn't get knocked down again.. You holding up well enough?"

[19:02] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "They're... painful. Those weapons are enchanted for damage. Thankfully I managed to get away and repair my minor injuries..."
[19:02] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "Stay on your toes."
[19:03] Renegin was ferocious in his assault. He cut down meager undead left and right, slicing through their decomposed corpses easily with his sharpened Nyeshk heavy hitter. Soon though, he found himself in a battlelust and attempted to contend with one of the leaders of these undead, a wielder of shadow magics.

He jumped into the fray with Ja'romeh and sliced and diced, even when the shadows punctured and stung as his skin through his armor....he was doing it...he was hitting the bastard and it was hurting. Overcome by his triumphant emotions of actually doing damage to a big boy he was momentarily distracted.

Neo nearby, jumped and and sliced the vampire moving at much higher speed and hitting with much more power. He figured that's why suddenly, the Thrall before them unleashed a gigantic cannon of shadow energy that blasted both him and the Vampire Lord back onto the ground. He gritted his teeth, and very briefly looked over at Neo.

The vampire was not surrendering to that, neither would he. Gritting his teeth and in immense pain he got back up and kept fighting. He would not be giving up so easily on this day....he had his lady to protect and all.

"Mmmm, im alright my lady. Fine, just got blasted with something sent Neo into tha dirt too."

He chuckled, spitting some blood onto the ground as he took a deep breath his aura flaring back up.

[19:07] {NARRATION} The fighting had ended, and only a small fraction of the infernal Legion that had arrived was able to retreat. Dead corpses laid across the plains in melted slime and gore, almost entirely defeated by the brave force that had come to repel them.

However the smoke still lingered, and the purplish flames that had licked the ground continued producing the smog. A voice cackled in the air and to some, the distant visage of a face peering through the cloud could be seen.

"Interesting... they fight well." it began. "But my fun isn't over yet..."

An explosion of green light erupted from the center of the mound of bodies, it circled outward toward Thalassia's finest.

And yet everything was still...

Until one bone rolled across the ground, followed by a skull, a dismembered, bloody arm. More and more chunks of the undead who had marched on Crafthold began to come together in a great mound that coiled together. Every piece, every body of the dead smashed together in a hideous display until finally a massive monstrosity that had manifested a mouth filled with shattered bones for teeth roared out toward the makeshift army.

"How about we try again?" said the voice in the smoke.

[19:12] Sugarboy would watch in horror as bodies flew and contorted to make the disgusting amalgam infront of them. He was shaking in his boots, but the river the flowed in his soul kept pushing him forward, driving him to fight. There was only one thing he could say with a shakey voice.

"H-hey Renegin?.. You uh, think that'd make good fishing bait?" Comedy, Sugarboy's only solace in all this shit.

[19:14] Renegin was ready to make the undead pay....but then a grand fusion HA! happened before his very eyes. The three combined powers, or so he guessed and created a giant fuck off worm they would have to all contend with.

He was breathing heavy not, the fighting having taken a toll on the mans stamina and focus. He had been hit hard once....if it happened again this fight may not go so well for him. However, he must keep everyone safe and so he would fight on.

He re-stanced, his gaze hardening into a much more serious one. His sword was held in a death grip and he was ready to slice this slug on two. As he charged back into the fray he let out an immense cry, his aura lighting up with an intensity never seen before....he would kill this thing and live to tell the tale.

"Arrrrrgh!! Hell if ah know Sugar, but once we kill tha bastard we can try it out!"

He yelled his words as Sugar followed behind his charge, along with the rest of the people defending this place.

[19:47] The beast would carve it's way through the fields, drenching it in the blood of the fallen. Sugarboy found it very beneficial to him as it only gave him more artillery, skating across the surface as he fired torrents of scalding blood and water into the beast.

Just a drop in the bucket to everyone else's damage, but he was keeping people standing with holy water to heal them, and divine light that encouraged his friends and allies to keep fighting. Ominous words spoken, perhaps a warning he should ready his fellow Gehennans for another attack.

But they won! Celebrations would hopefully soon follow, and the blonde would kick it off by pulling a cigarette of soothing reed and lighting it with a snap of his finger. A deep inhale, and a billow of smoke to follow.

Nothing like a good smoke after a well earned fight.

[20:20] Maybe it wasn't just time to celebrate, Sugarboy found himself surrounded by the injured who fought beside him, those not as fortunate to dodge the undead's assault. While the blonde couldn't face danger with a straight face, those who were hurt were a different story.

The Head doctor of Gehenna could clap his hands to draw attention, "Alright everyone! I'll be sticking around crafthold a little longer to help those who sustained damage during the fight. If any other medics could assist me, it'd be greatly appreciated!"

Still a bit cheery, he still took his position seriously as he tried to organize a makeshift care unit out of the survivors before making his way back to town.

[20:21] Chaaca Khan asks, "So... How'd you fare out there Sugarboy?"
[20:21] Sugarboy says, "Alright Chaaca, stick with me and I'll show ya the ropes."
[20:21] Chaaca Khan says, "I uhh... Yea, I'll do what I can."
[20:21] Sugarboy exclaims, "Didn't get downed once!"
[20:22] Kairi asks, "Uhh...I'm not a medic, and I don't have any training, but I didn't get very injured, so can I help?"
[20:22] Chaaca Khan says, "Hahah..."
[20:22] Chaaca glances at his charred arm.

[20:22] Sugarboy asks, "Do you wanna learn, Kairi?"
[20:22] Kairi exclaims, "I'm always willing to learn new things!"
[20:22] Kairi says, "I just...wasn't very useful in the actual fighting, so..."
[20:23] Sugarboy says, "Alright, gather around- not sanitary to keep an aid that's injured himself"
[20:24] Kairi asks, "Are you two alright?"
[20:25] Renegin is moving a tad bit awkwardly, his face cringed in pain

[20:25] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "I am unscathed, thanks to Rene here..."
[20:25] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "He however has some terrible burns."
[20:25] Chaaca Khan asks, "Him too?"
[20:25] Kairi winces.

[20:25] Renegin Billard says, "Mmmm, burnt. Thankfully, me armor aint melted to me this time."
[20:25] Renegin Billard asks, "How are ye doing littl Kairi?"
[20:26] Kairi says, "Alright, uh...Sugarboy is treating Chaaca right now. And- I'm fine. I only got mildly burnt. Nothing that'll last."
[20:26] Renegin Billard says, "Mmm, I can deal with it fer now."
[20:26] Renegin Billard asks, "Rose can...soothe it while we wait. Aye Rose?"
[20:26] Roanna nods.

[20:26] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "Take a seat, take a seat..."
[20:27] Renegin took off his cloak, putting it and his sword to the side. He, with some help removed his chestplate. His lower back was coated in a harsh occultic burn mark, his skin singed and festering.

[20:27] Sugarboy would saunter around to the side the merman's arm had been burned. "Alright, for first and third degree burns you can apply a salve to ease the pain- however, with some magic you can reverse it a bit." As he explains this, water is pulled from the air and washes over the arm, it begins to glow a divine light as the edges of the burn begin to recede and heal.

The worst would remain, and he would apply the salve over it, wrapping it in a bandage and giving it a kiss. The doctor would pull out a lollipop and hand it over to Chaaca as he sauntered over to Renegin, overseeing Roanna's process.

[20:28] Renegin Billard says, "I HATE gettin burnt."
[20:28] Shizuko Megumi says, "Okay."
[20:29] Sugarboy says, "You said you were injured? take this"
[20:29] {Item} You drop Elixir Of Healing.

[20:29] Sugarboy says, "Take it girlie."
[20:29] Sugarboy says, "Doctor's orders~"

[20:30] Kairi takes the Elixir and downs it, sighing as her minor burns get cleansed.

[20:31] Kairi says, "Thank you."
[20:32] Shizuko Megumi asks, "Sugarboy?"
[20:32] The burn appears fairly nasty, but otherwise not extremely deep. This was good.

"Let's see. It's an occultic burn, so the best idea I have is to try and purify the wound with holy water magic, and then apply soaked bandages to the spot."

She nodded.

"That's how one treats a regular burn, but with holiness instead. That being said, the reaction might hurt a lot, but we've got to get that occultic essence out of his wounds."

Roanna dipped into her first-aid kit she kept with her at all times for such occasions. One never knew when they'd have to patch an injury from an ally or themselves.

Her hands outstretched, calling upon her runes to do the heavy lifting of her magic for her. With a few handsigns, water coalesced into an orb from moisture in the air around her. Then all she had to do was soak her bandages into it, which she did.

"There there. Is this all looking good, Sugar?"

[20:32] Sugarboy asks, "Sup, Shizu?"
[20:32] Shizuko Megumi asks, "May I call on one of those fairy powders?"
[20:32] Devin held Shizuko tightly in his hug, clearly disturbed by the event.

[20:32] Shizuko Megumi says, "I'll pay."
[20:32] Shizuko holds Devin tightly, gently rubbing his head with her hand.

"Shhh. It's okay. You're safe now."

[20:33] Renegin takes a rag and bits down onto it, he made sure the pain from getting his injury cleanse did not cause him to scream. Only grunt in pain as it was being done.

[20:33] Chaaca sat in silence for a moment as he watched Sugarboy work his magic, all while paying close attention to his lesson. Right, so for first and third degree burns he needed to apply a salve to ease the pain, but apparently you could use magic instead.

Chaaca would wonder if a second degree burn existed, as Sugarboy began to show off his prowess with water magic, summoning it from the atmosphere to cleanse his wound. Chaaca gritted his teeth as the water came into contact with his burn. He let out a sigh of relief as Sugarboy applied a salve to it.

Sadly, a rather horrible looking burn related scar remained on his arm. Rather nasty stuff. BUT, the pain was quickly replaced with joy as Sugarboy handed him a lollipop. Which he quickly popped into his mouth, before walking over to Sugarboy.

"Right, so make sure t'kiss the wound afterwards, and then give the patient a lollipop. What's next?"

[20:34] Shizuko Megumi says, "Alright, follow me to the clinic, I can handle this."
[20:34] Devin continues to hold Shizuko like a teddy bear, his ears having trace amount of blood.

[20:34] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "Not to worry, we pushed it back with fairly light casualties."
[20:34] Kairi says, "Ser Artaghh looked pretty hurt, though..."
[20:34] Shizuko offers to pick up Devin.

[20:35] Mikhaila Elisheva says, "Oh, does anyone need help? I don't know how to fix people, but I can try to help."

[20:35] Chaaca Khan says, "Aye, I don't think anyone died. Though I think a lot of people got burned."
[20:35] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "We're good here, but others might require your assistance."
[20:35] Roanna Rosenkreuz says, "Thank you, though."
[20:37] Ocean blue hues would watch over the procedure, offering a nod as she tended to the mercenary's injury. He took note of the way Roanna had to channel her holy magic, runes and hand gestures. It was odd to the medic who had water magic come to him so naturally.

"Looks good to me, I'm gonna move on to the other injured." He'd turn to Chaaca. "Then ya gotta do a doctor shpeel. Change the bandage atleast once a day, giving it thirty minutes to breathe before reapplying." He'd turn as the the square began to fill.

"Who needs a doctor?"

[20:40] The woman nods, pressing a strip of the stuff against the burns Renegin had. She pouted a bit, knowing the occultic energies would react painfully with the application of it. Sadly, it had to be done.

When the initial wave of pain receded, Roanna would begin wrapping the soaked bandages around Renegin's body. At least once it burned through the Occultic presence still on his skin, the holy magic would offer some relief from pain.

That was the best she could do for now.

"Right, thank you, Rene. You did excellent work out there. I hope my work with this helps you out...

I'm so sorry you got hurt. We did a good thing today though, so I hope it was worth it..."

Finally the dressing was done, wrapped all around his body in the proper sense. At least he would be okay and recover quickly.

[20:43] Chaaca nodded to Sugarboy, as he watched the both him and Roanna tend to Renegin's wounds. "Right, so instead of usin' water magic, I'm gonna have to use holy magic, got it."

Nodding a bit to himself, he'd listen to Sugarboy's doctor shpeel. He uhh, he wasn't sure exactly what to say to someone after he'd helped them, but odds are that knowledge would come as he continued to learn from Sugarboy.

"Right, I'll make sure to change it once a day. Got it... I'm gonna assume the spheel is somethin' different each time, but I'll probably pick up on that as I learn."

Focusing back on Sugarboy, he'd ask again. "What's next?"

[20:44] Renegin lets out a sigh of relief, getting up as the wound was cleaned and wrapped. He stretched himself, getting used to the bandages. He nodded in satisfaction, putting his gear back on. He smiled and gave Roanna a small side hug.

[20:49] Sugarboy asks, "Shit- I wish i could stay- Rene don't we have a meeting to get to?"
[20:49] He picks up the book and opens it up...and remembers he can't read so he just....throws it back on the ground.
