- Emika was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan. She lived there up until she was 11 beforeo moving to Seoul,South Korea with her family. She is half Japanese from her mom and half Korean from her father. She has two older brothers and one younger sister. Her parents owned a restaurant in the city for about 5 years until she moved. She was homeschooled most of her life until middle school where she met some of her best friends.
