  1. >You raise your head up, and take a cautious look around.
  2. >Massive pines and expansive mountains ring around you in a breathtaking tapestry of greens and whites.
  3. >The fresh morning air only added to this.
  4. >It was a breath-taking sight, to say the least, such an extraordinary scene of nature.
  5. >”Dang. Where in Equestria are we?”
  6. >You shake your head, clueless.
  7. “I am as ignorant as you.”
  8. >You stand there, for a few moments longer, when your superior vision picks out something…
  9. >… Wrong.
  10. “Shermanator.”
  11. >You elbow him, and point into the distance.
  12. “Do you spy something in that direction?”
  13. >He squints and covers his brow with a hand, before his eyes go wide.
  14. >”Oh snap, is that a forest fire or something? That’s-“
  15. >You finish for him.
  16. ”Smoke.”
  17. >And where there is smoke…
  18. >You grab your blade off of its mag-lock and test its weight.
  19. >It shifts and slides in your hand, maintaining perfect balance.
  20. >Psychic energies race up and down the blade, creating both a Power weapon and a conduit.
  21. >You take a step forwards, and cross your arms across your chest.
  22. >Lifting your back foot up, you let gravity do the rest of the work, and slide down like a sled down the rocky hillside.
  23.
  24. >You control your speed by digging your heel into the rock and clay, sending dust and debris everywhere behind you as you crash down the Cliffside.
  25. >Your momentum begins to lessen, and with a kick you fly up, getting a good three feet of air.
  26. >With a crash, you slam into the ground, your momentum plowing small trenches into the soft forest floor.
  27. “It should take about three hours to reach the objective, Shermanator. It looked to be… about.. Shermanator?”
  28. >You look back up the cliff, and catch sight of a stupefied Shermanator simply looking down at you, gawking.
  29. “Are you coming?”
  30. >Even from down here, you can see his head shaking.
  31. >”No way no how, I’m not going to try climbing down!”
  32. >You grumble, and wrap the warp around you, teleporting back up the slope.
  33. >You really had hoped to avoid using your Psyker powers just yet, even teleporting could be taxing in unknown area’s.
  34. “Fine, then. I’ll carry you down.”
  35. >”Wait wha-“
  36. >You grab Shermanator in a massive bear-hug, ignoring his terrified screams as he protests.
  37. >”No! I’m not doing it! I swear to Celestia you put me down right now Sorceraaaah!”
  38. >His fervent ranting turns to screaming as you go into freefall, sliding down the cliff face again.
  39. >You take an actual concern when his screaming stops and he simply starts to shake uncontrollably.
  40. >Finally grinding to a more gentle halt this time, you look down at the shaking Sherman, as his eyes stair blankly onwards.
  41. >You might have just goofed a little.
  42. ”Shermanator? Are you alright?”
  43. >His shaking begins to lessen as you let him go.
  44. >He simply continues to stare onwards, and you wait for a few minuets, seriously worried about what was going on.
  45.
  46. >Finally, three minutes of silence later, he manages to choke out some explanation.
  47. >”I’ve seen some Hockey. Bottomless pits. Drowned once, too. Don’t do that again, Sorcerer.”
  48. >Oh Lorgar’s Testament, did you just traumatize Shermanator?
  49. >You would have to remember that others could actually feel fear.
  50. >He finally begins to become more responsive, and you decide being silent is the wisest course of action.
  51. >For an hour, you carefully pick your way through the great pines and oaks.
  52. >The smell of smoke was actually growing strong enough now that Shermanator made the passing comment about you getting closer.
  53. >You didn’t realize how close you were, until the tree line began to melt away, showing open plains, a distant town slowly moving.
  54. >You give a quick gage of the suns position in the sky, and judge that you had about another half hour until you hit civilization.
  55. >”Shall we introduce ourselves?”
  56. >You ponder, for a moment, what in Equestria could actually cause you or your ally any significant harm.
  57. >You settle for “Jack Diddly Doo, Greater Daemon of Fuckall”.
  58. >Striding forth, you make ready to deal with whatever effect seeing two strangely dressed humans would have on the ponies here.
  59.
  60. >It is safe to say now, that this is not what you expected.
  61. >There were no ponies, only Griffons.
  62. >And they didn’t even cast you a second glance, except to smile and wave when they caught you looking.
  63. >Suffice it to say, you were shocked.
  64. >But, hey, when Life gives you Ambull Piss, make White Phosphorus Grenades.
  65. >You finally find what looks to be a blacksmith, and wait outside as Shermanator walks inside to ask a few questions.
  66. >You are surprised for the third time today when you find a small, child-like Griffon hovering in front of your face, smiling.
  67. >”Hey there. You must be new here, I’m Beata. Are you a Human like Dad?”
  68. >You blink, before smiling politely.
  69. “Hello Beata, I’m Anony-
  70. >Wait.
  71. >”Human like Dad”?
  72. >What the Warp?
  73. >No, seriously, what the Actual Warp?
  74. “-… Anonymous. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
  75. >The little Griffon tilts her head, smiling.
  76. >”Oh! Does that mean you’re related to Dad? Mom always calls him ‘Anon’.”
  77. >And just like that, you piece together the rest.
  78. “In a manner, yes.”
  79. >You kneel down, and the little Griffon lands, smiling up at you.
  80. >You admit, it’s a little infectious, but you had a duty right now.
  81. ”Do you know where your father is? We need to speak with him.”
  82. >Beata immediately loses her smile, and begins to tear up a little bit.
  83. “H.. He isn’t coming back. He and Mom-“
  84. >”Beata! There you are!”
  85. >You look over and spy a new Griffon running towards the little Beata.
  86. >The chick almost immediately lights up, and flies towards the new-comer.
  87. >”Mom!”
  88.
  89. >You quirk an eyebrow. Wasn’t that little Chick about to say something concerning her Mother?
  90. >You brush it off, evidently the Mom was right here.
  91. “Good Morning, Xenos. I am looking for another of my kind. Have you seen him- or her- anywhere in this town?”
  92. >The Griffon casts you a weary glance.
  93. >”Yeah, uh.. Anon, he just left. Why, what’s this about?”
  94. >You grimace. This was going to be difficult.
  95. ”We believe he may be in serious danger, and need to ensure his safety.”
  96. >The other Griffon seems flabbergasted.
  97. >”You mean… Yes, of course, he’s in some serious sh-uhm-stuff, right now. He just left on a chariot for Canterlot.”
  98. >You are a little confused. You were missing something vital here.
  99. “This is a bad thing?”
  100. >She gives you an incredulous look, before blurting out.
  101. >”He’s going to make sure Celestia will leave us alone. By force if he has to.”
  102. >Oh for the love of…
  103. >The Anon of this world was going to try and fight Celestia.
  104. ”Sherman!”
  105. >You look back to the Griffon.
  106. ”Can you help us catch up to him?”
  107. >The elder Griffon nods, before whispering to Beata. With a nod, the Chick runs off, leaving you alone.
  108. >”It’s a long ways, but if we hurry we might be able to catch up. He’s patient, he won’t just go bumbling in.”
  109. >Shermanator pops back out, looking incredulous.
  110. >”You’ll never believe this, Sorc, but-“
  111. >You cut him off.
  112. ”I know. Let’s move.”
  113.
  114. >You let the Griffon take the lead as you are taken to the edge of town as Shermanator introduces himself.
  115. >”Name’s Anon, by the way! Most people just call me Shermanator though.”
  116. >The Griffon looks back, a slight smile on her… beak? Sure, we’ll go with that.
  117. >”What, that a common name among dweebs?”
  118. >You grunt, put off by the joking. Now was not the time for Levity.
  119. “I am known as Sorcerer. What was your plan?”
  120. >She nods, before stopping by a still intact chariot.
  121. >”We’ve got to move fast, and this will get us most of the way. I’m not sure I’ll be able to take us all the way though, you two look kinda heavy.”
  122. >You nod, and mount in the back.
  123. >”… Never did like these things…”
  124. >You ignore Shermanator’s mumbling as he climbs in, and simply steady yourself.
  125. >You’re not certain of much, at the moment.
  126. >You’re working with a strange Griffon you only just met, and had to stop your target from getting himself killed.
  127. >Atleast things couldn’t get any worse.
  128. >”Oh, and, sense we’re sharing names and all,”
  129. >You look down at the Griffon, as she smiles back at you.
  130. >”The name’s Gilda.”
