Sick kids

Alexithymiaa: -Brad was lying in bed feeling like complete garbage, his nose all stuffed up and his throat sore. He was a baby though so a simple cold was just completely killing him.-
Covet: Kelsey was walking down the hall with a mug of lemon ginger tea with a little artifical sweetner. She also had a thing of vick's vapor rub in her other, having just getting finished with applying it to Connor before he went to bed. Opening up his bedroom door she walked over to him and handed him the mug, "Here, drink this and I'm putting this on to help you breathe." She said, pushing her glasses up on her face.
Alexithymiaa: -He reached his hand out to take the mug from her, tipping his head up so he wouldnt pour the hot tea of himself while trying to drink. "Evan got me cold medicine, but that's going to knock me out immediately."-
Covet: "I know, and you should take it here soon, You're going to need the rest to kick this quickly." She told him wating for him to get his fill of tea before she applied the vapor rub on him.
Alexithymiaa: "I'm going to, I just wasnt ready. And he bought grape." He said, making a fucking face. But grape sucks. He moved the tea out of the way, exposing his chest to her so she could apply the Vicks.-
Covet: "Ew." Kelsey said, then patted his leg. "Save some of the tea so you can use it to chase the cold medicine." She unscrewed the cap and rubbed her fingers along the edge of the containher and reached over to start rubbing the rub into his chest. "Lay back, don't strain yourself." She said, more or less babying him. She was in mom mode.
Alexithymiaa: (He needs it)
Alexithymiaa: -He leaned back into his pillow and closed his eyes, enjoying the rubbing action because it was both soothing for his skin and his congestion. "Right? Everyone knows grape is the worst flavor medicine. No one taught him anything."-
Covet: She massaged it into his chest applying more when needed. "Grape, then traditional cough syrup with no flavoring." She said then gagged a little.
Alexithymiaa: "Followed by generic cherry. That generic cherry flavor is like the epitome of ccough syrup taste." He said with a nod, glad they agreed on how awful it was going to be to take this medicine.-
Covet: "I don't think it's supposed to taste good though.
Covet: [dammit]
Covet: "I don't think it's supposed to taste good though." Kelsey said with a laugh, putting the cap back onto the Vick's and set it aside. "Feeling better yet?" She asked him.
Alexithymiaa: "Why wouldnt they at least try to make it taste better? No one benefits from it tasting like shit." He grumbled, upset about medicine flavors. "Working on it. I can feel it expanding and clearing out."-
Covet: "Maybe they can't because of what it's made out of?" Kelsey told him, "Good. The tea will help with any chest congestion too."
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know, probably. But grape and cherry? Making it worse." He said confidently, picking his tea back up to take another sip.-
Covet: "Well could you imagine, Banana flavored cough syrup. If their attempts at Cherry and Grape were this bad, they'd ruin anything else." She said with a laugh.
Alexithymiaa: "Strawberry might not be the worst. Or watermelon..." He said, setting the almost finished tea down and looking at her. "Bubblegum amoxicilin."-
Covet: "It sounds like the flouride they used to hand out in elementary school, not cold medicine." She said with a laugh.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but that stuff wasnt bad so would that be so bad?" He asked her.-
Covet: "It was awful. Why couldn't they just give us standard mint?" Kelsey said scrunching up her nose at him.
Alexithymiaa: "Still better than cinnamon." He said, moving his hand to cover his mouth when he yawned.-
Covet: "What's wrong with cinnamon?" she asked with a laugh. "You should probably get that cough medicine in now."
Alexithymiaa: "It tastes awful unless it's cinnamon sugar." He paused, putting his hand out. "Can you grab it? He put it on my desk."-
Covet: Kelsey got up and walked over to his desk to get the cold medicine, and sat back down so she could pour out an amount for him, handing it over. "Here you go."
Alexithymiaa: -He took the little cup from her, throwing it back with a disgusted face and grabbing for his tea to try to wash the taste out of his mouth. But everyone knows that syrup lingers.-
Covet: Kelsey brought the medicine back over to the desk and looked at him, pulling the blanket up over him. "I need to go shower before getting ready for bed. But I'm going to let you get some sleep, I'll be with Connor tonight in case he needs me for anything."
Alexithymiaa: "Well I'm going to pass out in a minute anyway so I'll see you in the morning." He said, getting cozy and comfy with his blanket and passing out literally seconds later.-
