  1. >You looked around you and… you weren’t inside the castle’s dungeon anymore. Instead, you were outside, with the castle right in front of you. The sky was of a crimson color and behind you were… an obstacle course?
  2. >No… it looked like something used for target practice; this field was filled with colorful wooden houses with cardboard cutouts of a bunch of mean looking monsters inside and around them.
  3. >You had things like changelings, hydras, chimeras, dragons, strange ponies dressed in red robes, and even a weird Minotaur creature. Hmm, you think you read something about that guy, his name was Tirek, right?
  4. >”Oh for Celestia…” Moon Dancer shook her head and adjusted her big glasses she then held your head and looked you right in the eye “Anon, I know you have been through a lot today, but you have to concentrate. Otherwise, you will not learn anything from this lesson, and worse yet, you could get yourself hurt.”
  5. “Lesson? Moon Dancer, have you been drinking that weird tea again?”
  6. >”Ugh…No…” Moon Dancer slapped her face “Seriously?! Didn't anypony told you?”
  7. “Well… Discord mentioned something about a lesson… and a surprise… but he said that my moms wanted to teach me the spell he had in mind, the guy even told me that they didn’t want you to give me the lesson in whatever crazy magic he implied.”
  8. >A voice suddenly echoed across the small field…”That was the original idea, but then I remembered, because somepony in this castle has to, that my dear son is more stubborn than even my little sister. So, I thought that it would be better to bring more ponies to help with this…”
  9. >That… that was your mom Celestia
  10. >You looked at every direction, and when you looked up, you saw an almost blinding yet warm light… was it the sun? No, no it couldn’t be…
  11.
  12. >Whatever it was, it landed near you, exploding in a beautiful rainbow of colors when it touched the ground. You had to rub your eyes from the light’s intensity, but when you opened them, you saw your dear mother, Celestia.
  13. “MOM!”
  14. >Your mom then smiled at you with that smile that could warm even the coldest hearts “Hello there, my dear…” She then extended a hoof and motioned you to come over
  15. >You didn’t need more, you ran to her embrace and hugged her
  16. “I missed you so much!”
  17. >Your mom rolled her eyes and giggled “I was away for only one day. But… I missed you too, my sunshine. Heh… you even look like you’ve grown up quite bit during the time we were gone” your mom Celestia lowered her neck and gently rubbed her cheek along your neck and back, making you melt like butter…
  18. >But you momentarily broke the hug to ask a critical question
  19. “Where’s mom, Luna? And did you bring me something?”
  20. >Your mom Celestia gave you a light bonk on the head “Anon, you know very well that we were out doing royal business, as for Luna, she-“
  21. >And like clockwork, Luna’s voice was heard as she landed in the practice field “Explain me something Celie, when I do some symbolism in the dreams of ponies to help them overcome their fears is wrong, but when YOU do an over-the-top and unnecessary entrance just to show off is suddenly okay? No, seriously, explain this nonsense to me because I honestly can’t understand it.”
  22. >Celestia groaned and rolled her eyes “Luna… we have been over this. My entrances are classy, elegant and most importantly, harmless. I don’t go around disguising myself as an ominous shadow just to teach a little filly that she should probably admit she’s scared.”
  23.
  24. >Your mom Luna stomped her hoof on the ground and yelled ”That is because you seemingly can’t understand what the definition of symbology is! Dreams are not the real world, they represent the repressed feelings and fears of each pony, and that means I have to use a different type of logic to-“
  25. >Luna placed her hoof on her forehead and growled “You know what? Forget it, just forget it! The only reason why you are doing this is that you are still angry about that dream…”
  26. >”No…” Celestia looked away “And I don’t have a problem with cakes… I just like them, that is all.”
  27. >Luna gave Celestia a stoic look “…You completely obliterated the castle’s cake supplies. That is beyond a simple enjoyment. But as I said, forget it. You may enjoy having a flank the size of Equestria while I revel in the company of our son… speaking of which.”
  28. >A blue aura suddenly enveloped you as you floated to where your mom Luna was. She then held you like a plushie and nuzzled her muzzle on your mane “I’m sorry that you had to see such a disgusting scene, my child. Please forget it and focus instead on the fact that your beloved mother has finally returned to you.”
  29. “Heh, heh, heh! I missed this! And I missed you, mom!”
  30. >”I missed you too, my little star.” Luna continued her nuzzling… and you felt like you were in heaven “I couldn’t keep myself from counting the seconds until I saw your adorable face again, but since your dear mother didn’t want you to think that I had forgotten about my child. I brought you ah… how are these things called? Ah yes, a souvenir. I brought you a souvenir from our travel.”
  31. >Celestia pressed her hoof against her face and sighed “Luna… please don’t tell me that you brought that awful totem with you…”
  32. “A totem? And it’s scary?! AWESOME! Cherrywood and I will have a blast researching it!”
  33.
  34. >Luna giggled “I know you will. That’s why I’m giving it to you” she then looked at Celestia with a proud expression “You see? Unlike you, I know very well what our son and his special somepony like to do together!” then, Luna stick her tongue out
  35. >”Luna…” Celestia was still holding her hoof against her face “Fine! But if our son gets nightmares because of that thing, then I’m blaming you for it!” Celestia then walked past you and Luna
  36. >Luna tilted her head and asked with confusion “Celie… where are you going?”
  37. >Celestia shook her head and rolled her eyes ”We have a spell to teach our son, remember?” she then looked at Moon Dancer “Are you sure you want to join us Ms. Dancer? I realize that you still have to analyze those scrolls that we brought with us.”
  38. >Moon Dancer adjusted her glasses and spoke with a proud tone “Yes, your highness. I can translate and analyze those scrolls later tonight. And no offense, but first and foremost, I’m the prince’s tutor in the magical arts. This lesson is much more important to me.”
  39. >Celestia nodded ”And again, my sister and I are deeply thankful for your concern for our son’s education.”
  40. >”Celie…” Luna spoke with worry in her voice “Are you sure that this is necessary? After all, it was Discord who came up with this idea.”
  41. >”Well… instead of arguing, why don’t we ask him instead?” Celestia looked at you and motioned you to come over “What do you say, my dear? Do you feel ready to take this lesson?”
  42. >You left Luna’s embrace and walked towards Celestia. You then sat on the ground and looked her with annoyance
  43. “I just want to know what the hay I’m supposed to learn here!”
  44. >Celestia chuckled as she gave you a little smirk “Very well my dear…” she then turned to Moon Dancer “Ms. Dancer, would you be so kind as to show my son the next spell he has to learn?”
  45.
  46. >Moon Dancer gave Celestia a courteous bow “As you wish, your highness.” She then adjusted her glasses and turned her back on you so she could look at the targets.
  47. >Moon Dancer’s horn then brightens up and…
  48. “*ZWAP*”
  49. >A laser came out from her horn, causing a moderately sized purple explosion when it hit one of the ponies in robes. Amazingly enough, the target was still in one piece… but now it had a mocking face…
  50. >Still, that was a laser, yo! A FRICKIN’ LASER THAT EXPLODED ON CONTACT! WOOOOOOOOOO!
  51. “Woooooooooah! Wait… I’m gonna learn how to do that?!”
  52. >”That’s right…” Celestia nodded, a little smug grin was displayed on her face “Pretty amazing, isn’t?”
  53. >You frantically nodded and dashed as fast as you could to Moon Dancer’s side
  54. “Alrighty, teacher! Tell me everything I need to know how to shoot frickin’ lasers from my horn!”
  55. >But Moon Dancer didn’t answer; she just kept looking at the target…
  56. “Uhhh… Moon Dancer? You alright over there?”
  57. >”Yeah, it’s just…” she adjusted her glasses “For demonstration purposes and to inspire your curiosity, I hit the target with everything I’ve got. Yet… well… look at it! The thing is still standing!”
  58. >”Do not worry yourself about that minuscule detail…” Luna said as she walked to your side “This target field is a product of the spirit chaos’ magic. He insisted on giving this to my child as some bizarre parting gift. It is easy to assume that he made the targets this way just to get on our nerves.”
  59. “Really? I thought that this was something that the Royal Guard used to practice on.”
  60. >”You’re right in assuming that the guard has their target field.” Celestia said as she walked to Moon Dancer’s side “But you know Discord, and Discord has to be Discord. He wasn’t happy to manage to convince us to teach you a very advanced and very dangerous spell; he had to go the full mile and create a target field too… that said…”
  61.
  62. >Celestia’s horn lit up with a beautiful golden aura, then, it shoots a much more powerful looking laser at one of the targets and…
  63. >T-There was no explosion, but the result was just as awesome. When the laser hit the target, it immediately caught fire and melted not even a second after it.
  64. >Your mom smirked and rubbed her chest with her hoof “Discord must be crazy if he thinks that these glorified cardboard cutouts are match for your dear mother… or should I say mothers” She then turned to Luna and wiggled her eyebrows “What do you say, Luna? Do you want to have a little competition like when we were fillies?”
  65. >Luna shook her head, rejecting the proposition “We are not here to have fun, Celie. Our objective today is to teach our son this spell… besides…” Luna shot Celestia a playful glare “You do tend to behave like a grumpy filly when you lose.”
  66. >”Cheeky…” Celestia narrowed her eyes “Especially since I’m the one who has been active these past thousand years…”
  67. >”It could be one thousand years or ten thousand, it doesn’t matter…” Luna shrugged “You are still no rival for me when it comes to this…”
  68. >”Mind if you back up your claims, my dear little sister?” Celestia stretched herself and jumped in her place “I’ve been feeling an itch for a good blasting competition, and those hydras we just took care of didn’t make the cut to quell it.”
  69. >Luna looked at her sister with a regal, almost pompous expression ”If what you did back at the badlands, and this little show off are any indication. I have nothing to be afraid of, my beloved sister…”
  70. >”Oh, yeah? It’s curious that you mention the badlands because I remember a certain somepony who had trouble dealing with a couple of giant frogs…” Celestia said with a smug grin on her face
  71. >”Oh!” Luna narrowed her eyes at Celestia “It. Is. ON!”
  72.
  73. “Uuuh… it’s not like I don’t want to see this because you two having a “who can shoot a laser the hardest” competition sounds like the coolest fricking thing this side of Equestria, but… aren’t you two forgetting something?”
  74. >Your two mothers turned to you, then looked at each other and then back at you…
  75. >The first one to speak was Celestia ”I think that our little dispute can wait…”
  76. >”Yeah…” Luna answered back “… I agree with you on that, Celie…”
  77. “So!”
  78. >You looked at your mothers with pure excitement… you even felt your tail swinging back and forth
  79. “Where do I begin?”
  80. >But instead of your moms, it was Moon Dancer who spoke up “Well, Anon. You can start by remembering those warm-up exercises that I taught you.”
  81. “Wait, what? Why? I’m all fired up now! And I’ve been doing advanced magic stuff all day long! C’mon Moonie, let’s go straight to the good stuff!”
  82. >”THIS is the good stuff, my dear…” Celestia gave you a bonk in the head “You just need to be patient and listen to Ms. Dancer’s explanation”
  83. “Hmm! Alright!”
  84. >Moon Dancer giggled as she readjusted her glasses “Anon, do you remember why I taught you those exercises in the first place?”
  85. “Yes.”
  86. >You rolled your eyes and grumbled
  87. “It’s because I could learn to concentrate my magic in a single point. My question is what does that have to do with shooting lasers?”
  88. >”It has to do everything, my child.” Luna replied with a gentle tone “This spell requires as much thought power as it needs physical skill in magic. Shooting a laser it’s all about how much magic you can gather into your horn and release it in its purest form.”
  89. “Huh?”
  90. >Celestia sighed and gently caressed your mane “Remember what I taught you at the party? About how a spell isn’t necessarily powerful because you poured a lot of magic into it but is rather about how “concentrated” it is? Shooting a laser is both things. You need to gather a lot of magic and then release it in a very compact manner”
  91.
  92. >”Celie is correct. Let me give you a demonstration.” Luna’s horn then lit up with an intense light “Look at the magic that I’m gathering into my horn. Just like those exercises that your tutor taught you, I’m focusing a fairly big amount of magic into a single point, then…”
  93. >Luna shot a magic of her own at one of the targets.
  94. *BOOM*
  95. >Obliterating it and leaving just a smoking crater where a cartoonish changeling once stood.
  96. >”Did you see what I did? I released all the magic that was in my horn and directed it to a single point, and as you can clearly see.” Luna eyed Celestia “The result was quite devastating. Now, try it for yourself.”
  97. “O-Okay, I will.”
  98. >You took a deep breath and then exhaled. Then, you closed your eyes. Okay, Anon. You can do this!
  99. >As your mom said, this requires a lot of magic, so you made sure to concentrate as much magic as you could.
  100. >You started to focus and felt the warm and smooth sensation of your magic flowing through your body and into your horn.
  101. >But then you heard Luna’s worried voice ”I’m sorry my child, but don’t you think that maybe you are using too much magic?”
  102. “Nah, I’m fine!”
  103. >Why though? You could barely feel any magic being poured into this spell? Bleh, she must be worried over nothing. No, you had to put MORE into this if you wanted to shoot a decent laser!
  104. >”My sunshine, you have to listen to us. You’re overdoing it!” Now it was Celestia who was worried.
  105. “But this is nothing! It’s even less than nothing! I need to concentrate more magic into my horn if I want to do this right!”
  106. >You could tell that it wasn’t enough magic. Heck, you were sure that you used more with basic levitation spells. The only question was why you couldn’t feel the ground beneath your hooves though.
  107. >You concentrated more and more magic until Celestia finally stopped by placing a hoof on your shoulder “Anon! That is enough!”
  108. “GAH!”
  109.
  110. >You felt the now electric sensation of magic leaving your horn. And you also felt being propelled backwards at an insane speed.
  111. “AAAAAAAAAAH!”
  112. >You heard several explosions, but you didn’t care because YOU WERE GONNA DIE YO!
  113. >But… you never hit anything. When you opened your eyes, you saw that a golden aura enveloped you. You looked behind you, and saw one of the castle’s walls.
  114. >Phew! Your mom Celestia saved you at the very last second. And now that you now you weren’t dead
  115. “Woo-hoo! That was awesome!”
  116. >You were pulled to where your moms were. Celestia narrowed her eyes at you and gave you a bonk on the head “That was very dangerous!” Oh dear. She was angry.
  117. “But, but, but! I did the spell, right? C’mon, that has to count for something!”
  118. >”Yeah.... no, no it doesn’t. Why don’t you take a look at what you just did” Luna answered you, and she wasn’t looking happy either.
  119. >You took a glance at the target field and…
  120. “Oh c’mon!”
  121. >It was filled with smoking craters, but it seemed that you didn’t hit a single target. Laaaaaame!
  122. >Celestia gently put you on the ground and shook her head “This is what happens when you don’t listen. You held up too much magic and thus, you were unable to control the direction of the laser”
  123. >”A-A-Actually, your highness.” Moon Dancer spoke up with a trembling voice. She was trembling on the ground, covering her face with her hooves.
  124. “Oh dear… Moon Dancer, I’m sorry. I-I didn’t see you there”
  125. >Moon Dancer slowly got up and adjusted her glasses “That’s probably because you closed your eyes. You have to look where you shoot, you know?” she then cleared her voice and looked to Celestia “Anyways. Despite this first test being a fluke, I wanted to point out a flaw in the way Anon casted that spell.”
  126. >”You mean in how my child got enveloped in a ball of his own magic and lift off the ground?” Luna replied with sarcasm “Because that was a rather obvious flaw and I don’t see the point in bringing it up”
  127.
  128. >”N-No” Moon Dancer shook her head “It’s actually something very familiar. A constant mistake that Anon makes when he learns a new spell.”
  129. >Celestia rubbed her chin, thinking on what Moon Dancer meant “Would I be correct in assuming that you mean on how my sunshine usually uses much more magic than what is required?”
  130. “Oh please! I stopped doing that ages ago! This was just a simple miscalculation!”
  131. >”Anon.” Moon Dancer pointed at you before readjusting her glasses “Do you remember what happened a couple of weeks ago when I taught you a simple heating spell? You almost set the entire royal library on fire. And what about last month when you tried freezing a jar of lemonade?”
  132. >”Hmm. So that’s where all that ice came from” Celestia raised an eyebrow “I think you are onto something here, Ms. Dancer. But we will need more testing to prove our suspicions entirely.”
  133. >Celestia then looked at you and gave you a stern face “Very well my dear. You will cast the spell again, but this time.” She poked your chest “You will follow our instructions, or you are grounded for two weeks. Understand?”
  134. >You lowered your head and grumbled
  135. “Yes, mom.”
  136. >And so, you repeated the same process. But this time, you followed your moms and Moon Dancer instructions.
  137. >Just like last time, you felt the warm sensation of your magic gathering in your horn. And you shot when your moms told you that it was enough.
  138. “AAAAAAAAAH!”
  139. >THEN WHY DID YOU GET LAUNCHED LIKE THE LAST TIME!
  140. >You got caught by your mom’s magic again. But when you saw the results of the second test, you got happy.
  141. “HAH! I LANDED A HIT!”
  142. >”Yes, you did. You landed a hit out of like, ten shots you made, my sunshine.” Celestia said with a stoic tone. She then shrugged and gently patted your mane “But hey, you've done a bit of progress this time. That’s something worthy to be happy of.”
  143.
  144. >”I agree. But it is still worrying that even with our advice; our child still releases a massive amount of magic with each shot.” Luna said with concern “I-I am not sure this is a good idea anymore. What if my child gets hurt? I don’t think I could live with that.”
  145. >Moon Dancer readjusted her glasses and placed her hoof on your head ”I see why you would be worried, your highness. But I can assure you that this is normal for Anon. For what I have been told, he has never used magic before being adopted by you. It is normal for him to not being able to measure the amount of magic he uses in a new spell.”
  146. >”Ms. Dancer is right, Luna.” Celestia calmly placed her hoof on her sister’s shoulder and rubbed her cheek against hers “I know you’re worried about our son’s safety. But it’s Anon we are talking about. He just needs to practice more, that’s all.”
  147. >You walked towards Luna and gave her a hug
  148. “Yeah, mom. I-I usually need to practice a new spell a few times, and bam! I can cast it like a pro! So don’t worry, I’m not going to get hurt. And if you’re still worried, Moon Dancer here is very, very good at coming up with plans to practice a new spell. I think it’s her new hobby or something.”
  149. >”More like, it’s my job to make sure that you master any spell I teach you. But…” Moon Dancer giggled “I do like to spend part of my free time designing new ways for you to practice with your magic. Keeps my mind going, you know?”
  150. >”Hmmm…” Moon Dancer tapped her chin “And actually, I think that I just came up with an excellent idea to do just that.”
  151.
  152. >”I’m all ears then.” Celestia nodded with a confident expression on her face.
  153. >”Well” Moon Dancer readjusted her glasses “I don’t think that we can make Anon stop shooting multiple beams at once, at least not right now. I also don’t believe that we can prevent him from making those powerful shots. What we can try however is to teach him how to aim properly and lessen the amount of magic he uses per shot to stop him from getting launched backward.”
  154. >”Impressive, Ms. Dancer,” Celestia said with a smirk on her face “I was thinking the same thing. The only question remaining is if my sunshine is still feeling capable of continuing with the practice.”
  155. >You rolled your eyes and looked at your mom with a confident grin
  156. “Pfft! Those last couple shots were nothing! I can keep this for hours!”
  157. >”Don’t overstrain yourself” Celestia bonked you on the head “I don’t want you to have another case of magical exhaustion. I’d say that five more times are more than enough.”
  158. “AWWW! But c’mon! I feel fiiiine! I said that this was nothing, and this is fun, and I want to do fun things with you since you were out for so long, and we never do fun stuff like this together, and-”
  159. >”Listen to your mother, Anon!” Luna yelled, making the ground tremble.
  160. >You gulped and frantically nodded
  161. “Yes, mom.”
  162. >And so, you kept practicing the beam spell. The first couple times were like before: You shot and then got propelled backward, getting caught by Celestia’s magic before you hit a wall. And yeah, you didn’t hit anything
  163. >The third time, only made you fall backward… and still, you couldn’t hit the size of a barn even if it was right in front of you
  164. >The fourth time was a little better, you fell backward, yes. But you ALMOST hit a target, that’s progress, right?
  165. >And the fifth time…
  166. “Agh! MY NECK!”
  167. >The recoil of the beam made your head to tilt back with enough force to cause some pain on your neck. The good part was that…
  168.
  169. “Woohoo! I hit a target! Who’s the boss? I’m the boss!”
  170. >This needs another victory dance!
  171. “Eh-eh-eh! Eh-eh-eh-eh-eh! Eh-eh-eh! Ah! Ow, ow, ow! It still hurts!”
  172. >”Yes, and that is our cue to stop this for today. I don’t want you to lose that big head of yours.” Celestia let out a small giggle before she turned her attention to Moon Dancer “Ms. Dancer, we cannot thank you enough for the insight that you provided us today. I know that this is not sufficient to repay you, but how about if you join us for dinner?”
  173. >Moon Dancer offered a courteous bow to your mothers “Thank you, your highness. But as I said earlier” She stood up, readjusted her glasses and looked at you with a smile “It is my job to supervise the prince’s magical education. And I take my job very seriously; the fact that it is a fun job and Anon is a dear friend of mine also played a part.
  174. > As for your invitation” Moon Dancer sighed, her expression became serious “I’m sorry, but I will have to decline. I still have to research those scrolls that you entrusted me.”
  175. >Celestia nodded ”I’m a bit sad that you won’t be joining us, but I understand. I already asked the head maid to prepare you a room in the quietest wing of the castle, so you won’t be disturbed by anypony while you work.”
  176. >Moon Dancer then looked at Celestia with a nervous face “A-Actually, your highness. I was hoping to take the scrolls to my home and study them there. I-I will bring them here in the morning, I promise.”
  177. >”Hmm?” Celestia tilted her head for a minute, looking at Moon Dancer with surprise in her face “Please don’t think that I’m doubting of your integrity, Ms. Dancer. But why’s that?”
  178.
  179. >Moon Dancer shrugged and rolled her eyes, smiling awkwardly while she did it “O-Oh it’s nothing, is just…No, I can’t lie to the princess. She would surely fire me on the spot, and I need this job.” she then sighed and lowered her head “I-I’m sorry, your highness. But I simply don’t feel comfortable to stay in the castle while “her” is also here.”
  180. “C’mon Glasses. I-I mean Moon Dancer. I know you’re a bit of a weirdo and the most socially awkward pony I have ever met in my life, but you and Twilight are friends again! You have to be worried about! Just go with her and have a slumber party or something.”
  181. >”W-What?! I’m not socially awkward and definitely not a weirdo!” Moon Dancer yelled.
  182. >You rolled your eyes and gave Moon Dancer a little smirk
  183. “Yeah. That’s why Blueblood didn’t totally charm you after a few words, am I right?”
  184. >Glasses, err… Moon Dancer shot a murderous glare at you and angrily poked your chest “That jerk didn’t charm me, okay? I was only amusing him because… reasons”
  185. >You chuckled as your smirk transformed into a smug grin
  186. “Oh suuuuure! And the fact that you were fawning all over him while your face was redder than a clown’s nose was something that you included as part of your master plan. Don’t worry though; I’m sure that Blueblood would love to have a date with you.”
  187. >Moon Dancer slapped her face and groaned “I would never fall for a jerk like Blueblood! No matter how cute he is!” she then gasped “I-I didn’t say that.”
  188. “Yes, you did.”
  189. >”No, I didn’t! And…” Moon Dancer sighed in annoyance “Whatever. The reason why I don’t want to stay in the castle isn’t that Twilight, or Blueblood, or anything like that. It’s because I don’t want to be in the same place as that Starlight Glimmer.”
  190. “Oh… oooooh… yeah, you’re right Starlight is here. I totally forgot about that. Wait!”
  191. >You turned to your moms
  192.
  193. “Starlight will spend the night at the castle?! Why?! I-I know that I rescued and all that, b-but I don’t think that staying in that prison was good for her mental health. W-What if she goes crazy and does something creepy? Eris and Discord aren’t here to stop her; she could totally do it!”
  194. >Celestia walked towards Moon Dancer, giving her a reassuring smile ”There’s no need to worry about what Starlight Glimmer could do. For starters, she will spend the evening with Princess Twilight. I’m sure that would be enough to foil any potential plan that our other guest might have.” She then looked back at the castle and smiled “That is, if she even tries to do something other than spending time with Twilight. For what I could observe, Starlight Glimmer has a particular adoration for my former pupil.”
  195. >Luna then spoke up. ”While my sister is right, I have to say that is not enough for me. She did kidnap my child after all, and we don’t know if she is capable of doing it again. So to keep my mind at ease and because I knew my little star would be nervous” she gave you a wink before turning again to Glasses “I ordered the best elements of the Night Guard to keep a close eye on Starlight Glimmer.”
  196. >”Huh, really? That’s curious. It never occurred to me that you would so anything like that” Celestia asked with surprise
  197. >”Why? Are you going to object against me caring about our son, Celie?”
  198. >”Oh, nothing like that. I just thought that it was funny you did that while I ordered the secret service to keep watch on the entire wing where Starlight and Twilight will be staying” Celestia shrugged
  199. >Celestia then focused again on Moon Dancer, regaining her polite composure. ”Now Ms. Dancer, as you can see there’s nothing to be concerned in regards of Starlight Glimmer. I won’t force you to stay in the castle, but it would make me happy if you accepted my invitation.”
  200. >”I-I… well…” Moon Dancer let out a heavy sigh and then nodded before she readjusted her glasses “O-Okay, I think that there will be no problem. Thank you again for this opportunity, your highness. And Anon…” she turned to you and poked your chest “Don’t forget about your studies, okay?”
  201. >You chuckled and waved your hoof
  202. “Pfft! C’mon Glasses, it’s me. You know that I’m already like three steps ahead”
  203. >”Yeah, right like I’m gonna buy that again. How is that shield spell going huh?”
  204. “I… I can levitate a small dog while holding a shield! It might not sound like much but it is progress! And you can’t argue against progress no matter how small it is. Otherwise you would be like… like a pony who still wants to live in caves because she can’t handle a bit of fire!”
  205. >Moon Dancer rolled her eyes and giggled “Sure, sure. Whatever you say, doc, I wish that I could stay longer, but I have work to do.” She then turned to your mothers and gave them a final bow “Have a good evening, your highnesses”
  206. >After Moon Dancer entered the castle. You too a deep breath and decided to ask a question that was lingering in your mind.
  207. “Hey moms. I thought that it’s really cool that you have all these security placed around Glimmer but aren’t you forgetting something else? What about the changelings? What are we going to do if there’s one of them roaming in our home, waiting for us to lower our guard?”
  208. >Luna held you in her hooves and gently nuzzled on your mane “We already took care of that, my child. Zecora was kind enough to lend us a potion that disrupts changeling magic, and after a thorough inspection to the castle, guards and staff, we couldn't find any of those insects”
  209. >”Yes, but that doesn’t mean that we can lower our defenses. The queen of the changelings is still out there, plotting and scheming like she always does.” Celestia’s tone suddenly became grim “But what she doesn’t know is that now we have the upper hoof, and once we lure her out from her hive.”
  210.
  211. >A golden light lit up Celestia’s horn, and then she shot a laser that melted half of the practice field “I will personally make sure that Chrysalis doesn’t even get the chance to regret she dared to think about hurting my son.”
  212. >You should feel… scared? Surprised? A bit disturbed? Truth to be told is that after seeing what Chrysalis is capable of. You honestly want to see your moms kicking her ugly butt.
  213. “WOW! That’s some serious heavy power you got there mom.”
  214. >”Oh, that? Puh-lease!” Celestia waved her hoof “That’s nothing, your old mothers can do much better even in their sleep. Isn’t that right Luna?”
  215. >”Indeed” Luna nodded before shooting a blast that made the other half of the field to explode. Leaving only a giant smoking crater “That so called queen is about to learn why you don’t anger an alicorn.”
  216. >Celestia smiled and clapped her hooves together ”Now, I’m sure that everypony here is as hungry as myself, so what do you say if we go and eat dinner together while our son tells us what he did while we were gone?”
  217. “Y-Yeah… I mean, sure! I’m starving, like seriously, I haven’t eaten anything all day! And I have so much to tell you that you wouldn’t believe it!”
