  1. His crew was still working diligently, even though
  2. it was almost three in the morning. He dreaded what
  3. he was about to tell them.
  4.
  5. They'd already filled four of the six forty foot
  6. shipping containers in the loading dock with food,
  7. water, blankets, tents and medical supplies. Now they
  8. were busily loading the remaining supplies onto
  9. pallets so that the two men with forklifts could load
  10. them.
  11.
  12. [...]
  13.
  14. "Unless you are ready to fly these containers to
  15. Myanmar, I don't think there's much you can do,"
  16. Jacob said. "There isn't much point in loading these
  17. others, except to keep them out of the rain."
  18. At least the locked containers would provide extra
  19. security. Local drug addicts had been known to try to
  20. steal what they could.
  21.
  22. "Where are they headed for?"
  23.
  24. "Not anywhere now," Jacob said. "We were hoping
  25. to get supplies out to the Irrawaddy Delta, to
  26. monastaries."
  27.
  28. Some of the men were moving away from the
  29. crazy man; no matter how reasonable he sounded you
  30. could never trust how some of these people were
  31. going to react.
  32.
  33. He walked to the end of the container and checked
  34. to see that it was locked.
  35.
  36. Then he bent and put one hand to the bottom of
  37. the metal container and another higher up. There was a
  38. sound of groaning metal and a moment later the entire
  39. container began to rise into the air.
  40.
  41. The container weighed approximately twenty six
  42. tons fully loaded.
  43.
  44. The men in front of him began to scatter and a
  45. moment later Jacob discovered that he was in the front
  46. of the crowd.
  47.
  48. Jacobs's mouth was dry and he could hear the
  49. thunder of his pulse in his ears. His heart was beating
  50. rapidly, and the men behind him were dead silent.
  51.
  52. As the man reached the end of the loading dock,
  53. he turned to look at them.
  54.
  55. "Will you need these back?"
  56. Jacob shook his head faintly. "It costs more to ship
  57. them than it does to buy a new one. We get abandoned
  58. ones donated to us all the time."
  59.
  60. "I think these would make good temporary
  61. shelters," the man in the Superman suit said. "I'll be
  62. back for the rest of these as soon as I can."
  63.
  64. A moment later he and the entire container were
  65. rising into the air as though being lifted by a crane.
  66. Jacob found himself rushing to the end of the dock
  67. along with the others to stare up in the sky.
  68.
  69. The container vanished from sight in a shockingly
  70. short amount of time.
  71.
  72. The men around him were shocked and silent.
  73. Several had faces that were white and pale. One man
  74. spoke up. "What are we going to tell the bosses?"
  75. "We found alternate transportation," Bob spoke
  76. finally. "Sometimes God works in mysterious ways."
  77.
  78. The group was silent again, staring at the sky.
  79.
  80. "If he's really coming back," Jacob said, "Then we
  81. probably need to get back to work."
