Rules - Full Explanation

Rule 1 - Be on-topic:
The posts must be about or related and have their core focus on the DOOM franchise.

Simply mentioning DOOM or saying that your content is inspired by it is not enough, it has to contain a substantial connection, context and make use of elements from the DOOM franchise in a meaningful way. Posting off-topic or advertising unrelated content is not going to be allowed just because it contains an insignificant mention to the DOOM franchise as an excuse to be on the page.

Content that is for the most part not understandable by an audience that is well acquainted with the DOOM franchise as a whole, such as crossover content the over relies on knowledge from different franchises, is not allowed.

Rule 2 - Be polite:
Always be polite and respectful to everyone.

Do not insult, harass, discriminate nor be disrespectful to anyone in any way.

Do not purposefully incite fights nor provoke anyone into a conflict.

On the occasion of someone interacting with you in a disrespectful manner please do not disrespectfully retort back in any way, as doing so will likely negatively escalate the situation without solving anything and will also count as a violation of the page's "Be polite" rule.

In such cases, please simply report the disrespectful content or contact the Mod-Team by sending a message including a link to the content you wish to be reviewed.

Rule 3 - No explicit, excessive NSFW/L content nor overly vulgar content:
Content that is explicitly or excessively sexual, violent or gory is NOT allowed.

Exceptionally, fictional depictions of risqué, sexually suggestive, violent or gory content may be allowed as long as it does not greatly exceed similar natured content already present in the official material. Content must be tagged as NSFW when appropriate.

Do NOT post anything that is overly vulgar, crude or lewd. Just keep your content within reason.

Rule 4 - No illegal content:
Do not share, distribute, link, guide nor encourage anyone towards any illegal content of any kind in any way.

Do not ask nor request for any illegal content of any kind in any way.

Rule 5 - No personal information:
Do not share any personal nor sensitive information in any way that could lead to real life identification, your's or someone else's.

Simple descriptions, such as the sharing of hair color, could be allowed as long as it's not excessive overshare and the person described does not show discontent with the sharing of said information.

Rule 6 - English-only:
All content, such as posts and comments, must be English-only.

Having different languages could make understanding the content on /Doom inconsistent hurting the community experience as a result, so please keep your content English-Only.

Referencing other languages for the sake of an example and alike or because they have a connection to the DOOM franchise is allowed but key aspects for the understanding of the content need to be in English and overall everything needs to be understandable by an English-only audience in general.

Rule 7 - No transactions:
Do not offer nor request anything of any kind in any way that involves any sort of deal or monetary transaction of in-real-life currency or goods within or via the /Doom.

Regardless of the legitimacy of the transaction or deal, the /Doom community is not meant to be used as an online shop.

The sharing of external shops could be allowed, under moderator discretion, as long as the transaction or deal happens outside of the /Doom.

Rule 8 - No politics nor religion:
Do not talk about nor mention any in-real-life politics nor religion unless there is context connecting them to the DOOM franchise, otherwise just keep away from those topics as it could lead to unnecessary arguments and this is not the place for that.

Any attempts to push personal political opinions, disrespect someone or group of people or any other content done in bad faith, is not allowed.

Rule 9 - No controversies nor drama:
Do not bring nor engage in any real-life controversies, drama or otherwise. Any sort of unnecessary brigading or other disruptive problems are not allowed.

Rule 10 - No advertising:
Do not directly, blatantly or in any way advertise anything of any kind unless you have permission given by a moderator which has to be made clear.

Watermarks or logos are allowed as long as they are not intrusive.

Rule 11 - Credit original creators and sources:
When posting fan-created content, such as fan-art, make sure to credit the original creators or sources.

The credits must be given in either the title of the post, a signature within the work itself or anywhere in the body of the post where it is obviously and clearly visible, including a link to the source if possible. This also applies even if you are the original creator, it is not going be assumed that you are the original creator simply because you made the post.

Credits in the comment section of the post alone are not enough as they could get buried underneath other comments making it harder to see.

Rule 12 - Quality standards:
Posted content must be presentable, understandable and not poorly edited.

Posts must comply with the following criteria:

Text must be readable and understandable with proper grammar.

No clickbait, over sensationalized, lazy nor indescriptive titles.

Image quality must be correctly cropped keeping artifacts and compression to a minimum.

Media must be of appropriate resolution and framerate.

Submitted media, such as videos and links, must be functional and working properly.

No intrusive watermarks or logos.

Rule 13 - No memes nor shitposting:
Memes and shitposts are NOT allowed. This is done to help maintain the consistency of high-quality content in the page so it isn't overrun by ludicrous content. This ensures that /Doom stays a respectable place to celebrate the DOOM franchise that can be taken seriously by the community.

Any edited or unedited images, videos, GIFs, image macros or any content in a meme format containing a caption or not, even if it is in the title, meant for comedic value or otherwise will count as a meme.

Given meme's very dynamic nature and the varied shapes and forms they can take, any grey areas and deciding factors of what qualifies as a meme will be up to the moderators discretion and will be evaluated in a case-by-case basis.

Any content that is deliberately absurd, provocative, offensive, has trolling intentions or is just outright weird is NOT allowed.

Rule 14 - No Artificial Intelligence generated content:
Artificial Intelligence generated content is NOT allowed.

This is a page intended for people to celebrate and share their personal experiences with the DOOM franchise, therefore human created content is the most valued in /Doom so please do not post any Artificial Intelligence generated content.

Rule 15 - No insubstantial content:
The page /Doom is a place meant for people to share their love, experiences and anything in between fun banter and insightful conversations about the DOOM franchise, so please make sure that submitted posts contribute in an substantial, significant and meaningful way towards those goals.

Posts must comply with the following criteria:

No plain nor unedited images/videos/GIFs only posts. Your post may contain media but as a complement to your content.

Posts containing statements or opinions must include their respective arguments and explanations. Even questions when further context is needed.

No "can it run DOOM" posts. No, simply naming or showing some electronic device and asking if it can run DOOM is not worthwhile content.
In "VS Battles/Matchup" type posts simply naming the participants is not enough, start the discussion, describe the scenario and provide your own arguments and explanations on how it would happened and the outcome.
No "Let's plays", walkthroughs, streams nor anything alike. Content focused on simply playing through the game, even with commentary, is bland and just comes across as an advertisement for the creator. Exceptionally, interesting clips or "moments" could be allowed.
