- BTC - Match 1 Judgement
- FJ
- * UP's plasma caster hits hard.
- * UP can tear apart a human
- * UP has the stealth and agility to get into firing range.
- * Ergo, UP shoots Grid and Grid dies.
- * Grid also just sucks.
- * UP is stronger than Grid who struggled against weaker predators.
- Stalin
- * The map/starting conditions do not inherently favor UP
- * UP not being able to see Grid on infrared means his 3D vision is useless.
- * Grid having excellent smell means he can detect UP despite the starting conditions
- * Grid will be trying to stealth
- * UP can be cut by Grid, and there is no evidence suggesting UP is better by default
- * UP is vulnerable particularly to how Grid fights.
- FJ
- * UP CAN see Grid because there are instances of where Predators can see Xenomorphs anyways
- * Grid can't hide anyways because its bright as fuck
- * UP is far more agile and mobile than Grid.
- * UP isn't as weak as Stalin is making him out to be.
- * Grid ceases to be stealthy the moment he attacks
- Stalin
- * FJ's scaling doesn't work
- * UP's armor isn't actually as good as FJ says.
- * Rust has hiding spots
- * UP's vision doesn't work if they're hiding behind things.
- * UP doesn't see like humans, so even though its super bright out and shit,
- * Grid wins via seeing UP.
- Conclusion:
- I want to say for the record, this was a close match imo and I had been pingponging a bit between who was winning. I will preface by saying that I don't know anything about Alien/Predator, for better or for worse in this judgement.
- One of Stalin's biggest blunders was that he never quite addressed what Grid would do if spotted and shot at which I think is a good win-con at the start that was never really tackled beyond the notion of "I can hide" which in a situation like Rust, I think that's a bad defense. Largely, I am in agreement with FJ that Rust seems to be awful for hiding. What however changed my mind in the very end was when Stalin brought up how Predators don't see like humans. You can't see the sore black spot sticking out if you only see in infrared.
- And this is where I think the debate goes to Stalin. Yes, Grid isn't very subtle. This combined with FJ pointing out that UP can one-shot predators would result in a situation where Grid spins around and just punches his opponent for a mutual kill at absolute worst. The issue is, Stalin pointed out UP makes basically zero effort to dodge anything.
- Winner: Stalin.
