Reasoning: After attempting multiple modifications to his body, Alex tries to assess the gene Ipu told him about, unsure if he even possesses one. He was informed they are commonly found in human DNA and require a bit of gene splicing to awaken that hidden gene fully. Alex is proficient in medical procedures, and with the help of Ipu he attempted to edit his gene pool.

The human body is made up of many different genes. Ipu warned Alex that the wrong mistake could lead to other mutations. This was a risk that he was willing to take. The risk were there, but Ipu informed him that humans bodies are quick to evolve and adapt to their environment.

The surgery includes splicing his DNA with other samples he's collected, modifying them to work with instead of against his body with everything possibly failing and resulting in a life-changing experience. Though with his knowledge and Ipu, there should be minimal room for failure and mistakes.


What is the moment:

After Alex was attacked for entering the desert, he was told to seek out Pea; after spending what seemed like hours, he finally found the Saiyan back in the desert..? He accepted her terms and conditions to join and aid them within the war. This is where he met their tech Ipu. The two didn't exchange words at first, but they managed to spark up a conversation after a few days within the ruin.

Alex had just gotten out of another battle in which the results weren't in his favor; he then asked Ipu for power armor. She informed him they are a waste of time, and when asked how she improved, she brought up genetic mutations.

At that moment, Alex considered tampering with his own but decided against it despite him seeking a way to improve himself to be a better asset to ruined.

A few days had passed, and Alex asked for her help to mess with his genes. Of course, there is nothing better than two people working on the same project. She agreed to an extent, and their time has been spent working and splicing his genes.  The goal was to find if Alex had the DNA which linked to those special eyes. Ipu found her own, but is unsure if Alex will posses the same trait as her.
