  1. A major public speaker issue I see being a biracial couple with different religions. Conservative people are known to be less accepting of things that stray from the normal. Racism is a prevalent topic in America and it could be very likely that someone in the audience could have a problem with a biracial couple. Since Christianity is the most popular religion in America, being muslim could also be an issue. Christians and conservative Americans could be afraid of Islam if they have not familiarized themselves with what Islam is. The racial biases against Islam is a product of American journalism spin and propaganda against Islam since the Al Queda terrorist organization and ISIS are muslims.
  2. To address these issues my spouse and I would alter our presentation to be more informative about diversity and being in a relationship with different religious views. The presentation would also have a basic summary of what Islam is to ensure that everyone knows what it is. We would also have to make sure our presentation and content is sensitive to the issues of our audience since the audience is very diverse.
  3. Another public speaking issue is the diversity of the audience. The audience contains so many different types of people whose views can differ greatly. For example a 65 year old Christian couple could have a problem with a biracial Muslim and Catholic couple while the members of the LGBTQ community would be much more accepting of a unique relationship. Another example would be a disabled veteran who got disabled in a war with a middle eastern country whose primary religion is Islam could have a problem with the speaker being Islam while the part of the audience who learned English as a second language would have no problem with one speaker being Catholic and the other Muslim.
  4. My spouse and I would have to do extensive research to ensure we are not ignorant to any of the issues our audience members are going through. We would have to get constant feedback from unbiased and biased proofreaders to make sure the content is not insensitive to any one group of people.
  5. My spouse and I would have to work together to plan out how we are going to spend our two days before the speech so we don’t go over our $1,000 advance for speaking. We need to be on top of our personal responsibilities so we can deliver our speeches effectively and efficiently so we don’t risk losing the money we signed the contract for. If there were a mishap such as not planning for transportation or missing the speech for whatever unforeseen circumstance, we could lose the money and would have to pay back whatever money was spent from the advance since neither of us a purse, wallet, cash, credit, or debit cards.
  6. To make sure everything goes smoothly, my spouse and I will spend a considerable amount of time planning how we are going to spend our time and how we are going to spend whatever money we decide to use. Whether it be eating or shopping, we need to make sure we don’t go over our $1,000 limit.
  7. If we execute our plan accordingly and everything goes well we will give an effective speech and our audience will receive the message that we were trying to send them.
