  1. „Crimson Court“ of Vampires (WIP Name :P)
  2.
  3. Musts:
  4. -1 Blood Drinker
  5. +1 Feeding Dependency: Blood
  6. -2 Inhuman Speed
  7. -4 Superhuman Recovery
  8. +2 Catch: Faith+Holy
  9. -3 Mist Form (well, rather Shadow/Blood form)
  10.
  11. The "Crimson Court" is one of the lesser known Minor Courts of Vampires. They are also a bit the odd duck out, same as the White Court. Crimson Vampires are neither born, nor infected. Rather, they are created by a human making a deal with the Courts progenitor (a unknown entity thought to be some sort of „Blood God“ who only keeps himself tethered to the mortal world through his Court). As a result, there are never many Crimson Vampires around, especially since the Red Court always considered them a sort of infringers on their shtick and did their best to keep them down.
  12.
  13. As all Crimson Court Vampires were once fully human, they generally blend in very easy into human society, especially in order to hide from vampire hunters or Red Court exterminators (not to mention Venatori who want to finish the job they started with their boss a long time ago.) as well as retain most of the skills they acquired as humans, making them dangerously well trained in cases.
  14.
  15. Sightings have, indeed, increased since the Fall of the Red Court and some wonder if the Crimson Court is now striving to take a place as a Major Court of Vampires.
  16.
  17.
  18. Tells: Crimson Court Vampires look very much like a idealized version of their human form, with the only real tells (aside from catching them while drinking blood) are the fact that they have vampire-style fangs and their eyes are inevitably a shade of blood-red. They still trigger Soulgazes, though its decidedly un-nice since every last of them is generally a serial killer of some form.
  19.
  20. Weaknesses: Crimson Court Vampires are weak to professions of faith and the holy in general. Comes with selling your soul to a evil god of blood and violence, one thinks.
  21. Compared to the other Vampire Courts, The Crimson have the weakness of lacking mental power. They cannot compell, seduce or addict their targets with saliva. Blood to be fed has to be drawn by force, which is a serious issues if you try to blend in.
  22. Maybe the Blood God just hates magic and other kinds of cheating? (Totallynotkhorne.)
  23.
  24.
  25. Origin/Turning Notes: The Crimson Court is relatively young, with first sightings reported in the 19th Century. They were essentially the last ditch sheet anchor of an unknown Blood God who was just about to get his presence on the mortal plane erased by the Venatori. Said god did this by offering a few selected people, almost always those who had shed a great deal of blood (or had the desire to do it) the power to cheat death by accepting his power (via drinking blood for the first time). The act of a human soul turning to him and entering his service is all that is keeping said god tethered (oh so gently) to the mortal plane. A state of fact that the Venatori want to correct with extreme prejudice.
  26. Even today, new Crimson Vampires are created, be it Soldiers who enjoyed the battle too much, repressed office drones with an unhealthy obsession for splatter movies or Housewifes who fantasize about simply killing the entire annoying neighbourhood association, as long as you strongly enough desire the drawing of blood you might be offered the change.
  27. As they are now, the Crimson Court is relatively weak, but their long term goal would be to expand in numbers (by creating/finding new converts) to the point where their progenitor is sufficiently returned to the mortal plane to empower his chosen. The Court claims that at this point they would be able to forcibly turn humans like the Red or Black Court could do, allowing them to rapidly expand and take the Red Courts place in the Vampire World.

  34. Hmm, interesting but you'll want to change the name. I get what you're going for with "like Red but not," but it doesn't feel right.

  37. 3of4
  38. yeah, its a WIP name
  39. though the idea of "like Red but not" works with the idea that they are attempting to take the red's place
  40.
  41. 01:31
  42. Poodlestrike
  43. Yeah, but it's just not a very good name. Feels fanfic-y.
  44. You could make it still be an infection, but one that only the progenitor can spread. Having voluntary joining be a prerequisite doesn't feel very vampire-y to me :P
  45.

  48. maybe, but I think if the Whamps can do it by inheritance as still be considered Vampires...
  49. *shrug* :P
  50.
  51. 01:33
  52. Poodlestrike
  53. Still not voluntary :P
  54.
  55. 01:33
  56. 3of4
  57. I like the idea that the Court is a more recent thing that is essentially the last straw of a god the Venatori unperson-ed
  58.
  59. 01:33
  60. Poodlestrike
  61. They're born into it, that's the opposite of voluntary :P
  62. Oh, that's a fun twist.
  63.
  64. 01:34
  65. 3of4
  66. the act of voluntarily choosing it would be what keeps him anchored (oh so tenderly)
  67.
  68. 01:34
  69. Poodlestrike
  70. Maybe it's that it no longer has the power to forcibly infect people.
  71. It has to resort on temptation and willing stooges.
  72. *resort to
  73.

  75. 3of4
  76. maybe
  77. if i'd ever play it, or maybe incorporate it in the Jess in NO stories, i'd probably make the "we get to be infectious" the goal of the Court
  78. ie re-affirm their progenitors tether to the world, strengheting the court to the point where they could actually expand (by force) to be Red Court 2.0
  79.
  80. 01:35
  81. Poodlestrike
  82. Sounds fun :D
  83.

  86. so they are, like the Black, a "remnant" size Court, but unlike the Black are aiming to move up
  87. and yet at the same time they are part of the war against the Venatori
