  1. Marina's eyes remained fixed on the demon in front of her. The woman paid no heed to Misery's words, not out of intention but because her mind had been in a trance ever since the hunger had awakened.
  2.
  3. "No…it's not enough…" With small steps toward the demon, her nose twitches, feeling the scent of the infernal creature. "It is not enough." Her voice is fragile and echoes only one more time.
  4.
  5. And, in an unnatural impulse, she leaps on the demon, digging her fangs and long claws wherever she can. Marina forgets where she was at that time, consumed by her desire to make the demon bleed and taste the unholy blood. Even in such a fragile state, the girl's jaw tightened around the demon's arm with almost monstrous strength, for a normal human.
  6. (Marina Jay)
  7.
  8. Among the others he was, listening to conversations while also distant in thoughts. However, the instant he spotted someone simply charging towards him, trying to.. Bit him?
  9.
  10. The being reacted.
  11.
  12. As necessary.
  13.
  14. Touching the ground his mana flowed and the sands rose, appearing like pillars in the path of the one who tried to attack him, "What is this impertinence about." He questioned, though the hungry gremlin clearly..
  15.
  16. Well!
  17.
  18. She wanted to consume a piece of him.
  19.
  20. "It doesn't matter, I'll sink you amidst the sands mortal." The being exclaimed while he himself was enveloped in mana and the sands emerged revolted once more!
  21.
  22. Ready to subdue the one who was attacking the Demon.
  23. (Sak'noth)
  24.
  25. The meager offering she shows her is ignored in sake of a much greater meal. For once, the Coven members get to witness Misery in complete dishevel, bereft of the polite flourishes and graceful inflexions.
  26.
  27. "Marina, NO!" A command in vain, perhaps. Darkness extends forwards, clouds of the blackest smoke producing tendrils to keep the girl in place, to drag her elsewhere.
  28.
  29. "The sacrifice is ready within the Tower of Aetius. We can't afford to lose time." Not when the Ever-famished borders another tackle towards self-destruction.
  30. (Misery)
  31.
  32. Marina didn't hear anyone—or anything—except her own mind, which was begging for a feast.
  33.
  34. A feast she'd been anticipating without realizing it. Can her hunger be satisfied?
  35.
  36. The sharp fangs that clamped down on the demon's arm not only ripped two punctures in its skin, allowing blood to flow into a greedy drink, but also made her feel things the demon might feel.
  37.
  38. She went insane after the first drop landed on her tongue. It tastes better than any food she has ever eaten.
  39.
  40. Misery never had a means to control her in the end, only ways to contain and satiate her fleeting need.
  41.
  42. Marina is on her way to her feast, the demon's blood spurting out and fuelling not only her appetite but also intensifying the strength she has held for so long.
  43. (Marina Jay)
  44.
  45. [18:54] {Won Dangerous RPB against Marina Jay}
  46. [18:54] ** Sak'noth has inflicted an injury upon Marina Jay. ("Permanent Injury", "Permanent Injury", "Permanent", "Severity: MODERATE (-10 Vit)") **
  47.
  48. In her gluttony, Marina is much swifter than Misery is. Tendrils of dark dissipate into smoke as she bursts through them and towards Sak'noth, biting into the avian demon's flesh and feathers.
  49.
  50. "Marina is an old friend of mine. She..." Rather than trying to explain as the trio follows a battle of monsters, the witch simply shakes her head. "I have prepared something to placate her hunger. The sacrifice aforementioned."
  51.
  52. "A magi's body can be very resilient, Joker, but I doubt she really means it." Blood splatters across their chosen battlefield and Misery is forced to duck. "For Marina, an empty stomach hurts much more than a grievous wound."
  53.
  54. The battle comes to an end as Misery anticipated with Sak'noth coming on top. Once the nigh-endless flurry of spells comes to a halt, she advances, shouting orders.
  55.
  56. "Come! Aid me in dragging Marina to the Tower. She will not be sated for much longer!"
  57. (Misery)
  58.
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [19:00] Mindboggling. Perplexing. Maddening.
  62.
  63. There's so many words he could use here to describe how he felt about this situation, his confusion only growing once he hears Misery's explanation about this whole thing. Considering he lived with demons now, you would think that the jester would be a bit more used to all the eccentric and quirky behavior that could come from magi that were cast out by society, but something as extreme as this took a little getting used too.
  64.
  65. Still, he's nothing if not supportive of Misery and her actions, even if he didn't quite feel as strong as her about this woman. "...Mm. Sure, sure. Let's take her to the tower and get her fixed up, then." Hoisting his blade over his shoulder, he moseys on over to the no doubt grievously injured woman and attempts to help Misery corral her over to the tower.
  66.
  67. It's not like he had anything better to do today, right?
  68. (Joker)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [19:03] Father had never witnessed such a spectacular battle before and was perplexed before being given an order.
  72.
  73. He bowed before approaching Marina
  74.
  75. "Anything the most Sinister desires shall be done in accordance to her will."
  76. Father nods at Joker seemingly instinctively grabbing the hand in which was healing still and used Gravity magic to loosen the weight upon which he would have to carry the girl.
  77.
  78. "How far is the tower from here?" Father asked concerned the Aen may find them if they are out in the open for too long.
  79. (Father)
  80. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  81.
  82. [19:09] With Misery's failure to restrain her servant, the demon was then tasked with teaching her her rightful place. The sands rose under his control and he was enveloped in mana, a thick layer that protected and made his body stronger and stronger.
  83.
  84. Quite the sight.
  85.
  86. And even while his mind was attacked and his body had the ichor manipulated, he went on the attack. The girl's advance was fierce, it was clearly a hungry animal - but the being was a born strategist and controlled the battlefield she was on.
  87.
  88. Yes, this land was under his control.. And no one could avoid it.
  89.
  90. As much as she delivered blow after blow, he remained calm and as he said before, subdued the gremlin with the sands and then practiced some of his studies, manipulating her circuits... Twisting and draining them, something only possible thanks to the knowledge he acquired from his studies.
  91.
  92. Yes, what was done before now became useful.
  93.
  94. "Ah, at least this baseless and foolish attack will do me some good - shall serve to test what can be done." The being spoke, its voice echoing through the city - "But now, fall mortal and don't move again." And so, he would squeeze her amidst the sands of change..
  95.
  96. Finally, taking her down.
  97.
  98. Of course, not enough to kill or capture her, but enough for Misery to restrain her and pull her away from the demon - who for the time being would only observe. Now what could be noticed is that he was not angry anymore for the attack, but rather interested..
  99.
  100. What a strange thing.
  101.
  102. Because.. Perhaps, in the future, she could serve well as a Cambion, becoming one - yet that should be left for the future, yes.. Something for another time, not now.
  103.
  104. For now, he was done there.
  105. (Sak'noth)
  106. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  107.
  108. [19:15] Sak'noth's voice (to Misery): Misery. This one can be useful, what do you want for her?
  109.
  110. Tell me what is request to have her possession and it will be arranged.
  111. [19:15] Sak'noth's voice (to Misery): ( requested*
  112. [19:18] "The tower is deep inside our own territory. We should not find any trouble heading there." Misery lets Father know as she runs towards the injured Marina, clothes and hair bouncing with a rushed step.
  113.
  114. "Sak'noth." She adresses the large demon still hot blooded from a victory earned. "Such a profound mistake shall not be repeated. You happened to be the unfortunate soul intercepting Marina as we took her to the sacrifice place."
  115.
  116. But who or what would make for the tribute is openly discussed. Father's gravity magic aids in carrying the girl away. Should the curse of Helheim take root within her, Marina's greatest sin would expand exponentially, giving place to threat and power beyond imagination.
  117.
  118. Before departing, Misery shares a few mutter with the demon.
  119. (Misery)
  120. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  121.
  122. [19:19] Misery whispers to Sak'noth: ...in time, to become more than human -- cambion.
  123. [19:19] Sak'noth's voice (to Misery): It is what will be done, within time - then.
  124. [19:20] Misery whispers to Sak'noth: But first, Marina must learn to control the sin within her. As is, she is no better than one rampaging lesser demon.
  125. [19:20] Sak'noth's voice (to Misery): It understand this more than well, given my kind, the lessers.. Are quite the hungry ones and act more based in ther primal methods, than anything.
  126. [19:20] Sak'noth's voice (to Misery): Even some of my more evolved kin still lacks the proper way of acting, being animals.
  127. [19:20] Sak'noth's voice (to Misery): We are predators, but we also are superios and should not act as anything less than that.
  128. [19:21] Misery whispers to Sak'noth: You can mentor her much better than I could ever.
  129. [19:25] Vanderflen notices Misery and waves to her a small bag of supplies
  130. (Vanderflen)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [19:26] Hungry. Never sated. Nothing was enough for Marina. But perhaps, for the first time since she tasted that calf's blood in her childhood, she reaches for an indescribable and new kind of meal.
  134.
  135. Her stomach rumbled and ached, and during the struggle to get the feast she so craved, madness took over her mind.
  136.
  137. "So delicious", she thought. And then she began sprinting at the feathered demon to attack him with her claws and fangs. The more blood and flesh she managed to tear and spill, the more that aberrant hunger grew.
  138.
  139. The green around them was stained with bloody red, whether it was hers or her prey. When she falls, she gets up, sending psychic waves into the demon's mind, trying to warp his own reality to get a chance to jump over him once more, plucking those black feathers until she finds the flesh and the ichor is spilled once more. "You will be my greatest feast." Her voice resounded like a whisper in the demon's mind alone.
  140.
  141. The change in Marina's posture is clear; she was not calm; she roared like a hungry beast crossing the dense sands under the demon's control.
  142.
  143. But in the end, all she gets is a little snack, even though it is the most tasty one. Marina was interrupted even before she got the much-desired feast. Though she was being tightened within the sands, her pale countenance became more livid after she tasted a few drops of his ichor.Â
  144.
  145. And unconscious, she is under the Coven's mercy now.
  146. (Marina Jay)
  147. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  148.
  149. [19:27] Sak'noth's voice (to Marina Jay): You will be mine within time, mortal.. And there is nothing that can be done to avoid this fate.
