-
System:
- The player rolls Intelligence + Plague Breeding, for each success the vermins would gain additional plague dice. The disease should be determined by the player.
- The Infection:
- When a victim encounters the plague, a contested roll of the victim's raw Stamina [difficulty 8] against the Plague dices [difficulty 6] should be made. If resisted, the character may remain untouched to the rest of the scene.
- In case of a botch, the day after effect happens right on the spot (see below).
- Duration:
- Each net on the infection roll would stand for 4 IC days the character remains sick, however, may be significantly reduced if the victim is getting daily medical treatment. For each day the character is getting medical treatment, an extra sickness day may be removed.
- The Effects:
- Each net on the previous roll would count as 2 Plague Lethal Dices that would be rolled each morning the victim wakes up. On top of that, the victim is infectious, their mere presence and their belongings might infect others (see below).
- WARNING: Additional lethal dice would be applied for each day the victim doesn't get modern medical treatment.
- Infecting Others:
- Victims to such horrifying plagues are extremely infectious, their belongings are infectious and their mere presence might be dangerous.
- Encountering a victim or touching infected objects would trigger an The Infection (see above) against half (rounded down) of the victim's Plague Lethal Dices. In case of prolonged proximity or physical contact, the dices wouldn't be halved.
- Examples:
-
- Casting:
- A coven of the Baali has decided to protect their abandoned church by spreading the plague all over around it, the caster sent the vermins into their rotten sacrificing well for a few days to boil some infectious diseases. After a few days of extensive work, the caster has achieved a total of 9 successes.
- Getting Infected:
- Bob's curiosity led him into the abandoned church, as he stepped in he has noticed massive piles of vermins crawling all over the walls as horrid stench filled the room. A contested roll has been made between Bob's raw Stamina [difficulty 8] to the 9 plague dices [difficulty 6].
- Bob scored 2 successes while the plague scored 6 successes (4 nets to the plague). Therefore, Bob got sick for 16 days.
- Bob's Infection Effects:
- Bob ran away from the church as shivers ran down his spine from the horrifying sights, unknowing he was infected. The day later when he woke up, the Storyteller rolled his 8 Plague Lethal Dices (because of the 4 nets on infection) and scored 5 successes. Bob, however, managed to soak only 2 of the Lethal damage. This means he suffered 3 Lethal and woke up to horrifying pain, finding that his fingers are black and his nails are rotten.
- This process has to be repeated daily for the next 16 IC days.
- Bob Infecting Others:
- Bob entered into a panic when he saw what happened to his fingers, he dialed his girlfriend Rebecca to pick him up to the hospital. Once Rebecca entered the house she could smell the stench of the rot all over the place. The storyteller has to roll a half (rounded down) of Bob's Plague Lethal Dices (which is 4) [difficulty 6] against Rebecca's raw Stamina [difficulty 8].
- Rebecca scored 3 successes while the plague scored only 2 successes, which means she is not infected (yet).
- Rebecca drove Bob to the hospital but didn't touch him, however, after prolonged proximity the rest of Bob's Plague Lethal Dices (which is another 4) were rolled and scored another 2 successes, making it total of 4 infection successes which surpassed Rebecca's 3 soaking successes.
- Rebecca got sick for 4 days and gained 2 Plague Lethal Dices.
- Medical Treatment:
- For each day Bob spent in the hospital, another extra sickness day was removed. He had a total of 16 sickness days, however by being in the hospital from day 1, the time was halved to 8 days.
- In case he missed his daily medical treatment, another Plague Lethal Dice would be added to his pool.
