    → chai was born chaisee jetatikarn in bangkok, thailand, to a newly married pair. her parents were absolutely ecstatic to finally have a child of their own, and they welcomed chaisee with open arms, prepared to give her the world. growing up, chaisee had a pretty normal childhood. i mean, sure she was relatively well off, since both of her parents had inherited large fortunes, but they were careful never to spoil chaisee and let it get to her head. chaisee was taught that their was more to life than money, and she grew up content with only spending what was necessary. during her school years, chaisee was relatively popular, as she had an easy going nature and was easy to get along with. she had no problems talking to total strangers, and could quite easily keep up a conversation with anyone. she was enrolled in an international school in thailand, which was were she learnt to speak english. however, despite knowing the language almost fluently, chaisee is still very self conscious over her language skills, as when she does speak english, it is heavily accented, and she was never quite as good at speaking the language than she was at writing and understanding it. when she was fifteen, she began thinking about potential career options for her future. up until that point, she hadn't really come up with anything, as nothing really jumped out at her and caught her interests. her parents suggested professions such as nursing or law, but quickly stopped when they realised their daughter wasn't interested, as they didn't want to force her into doing something she didn't want to do for the rest of her life. instead, chaisee got a part time job at a local cafe, where she worked in between school to earn extra spending money for herself. it was that same cafe that she was scouted at two years later, by an international sm entertainment casting agent. chaisee's parents were quick to encourage their daughter to attend an audition, noticing that the thought of becoming an idol had seemed to catch their only daughter's interest. however, chaisee was rather skeptical at first, since she wasn't exactly musically talented. finally deciding that she had nothing to do, she flew out to seoul to attend an audition. however, she was unsuccessful, as chaisee never made it past the final round. disheartened, she'd left the sm building, wondering where to go from there. to give herself a chance to think, she decided to walk to long way back to her hotel, and while she was walking, she was scouted a second time, this time by a plan a entertainment scout. at first, chaisee refused to attend an audition. she'd just been rejected by sm entertainment, she didn't want to go through something like that again. however, the scouting agent was persistent, and left chaisee with a business card instead. conflicted, chaisee went home and asked for her parents' opinion. they were supportive of their daughter, and encouraged her to give the second audition a chance. however, they didn't want to force her into it, and instead gave her the choice to attend the audition, or come back to thailand if she pleased. eventually, chaisee gave in and attended the plan a audition, somehow making it through and becoming a trainee, a few months after she turned seventeen. she then began her training, determined to prove that sm entertainment had made a mistake in letting her go. she worked hard on her vocals and dance skills, and did her best to learn the korean language well enough to sing and communicate in. of course, this made her trainee life full on, as well with trying to balance school on top of it all (luckily, she was enrolled in an international school, which made things slightly easier), but chaisee managed by pure determination. she was thrilled when she found out she was going to debut with garnet, pleased that all her hard work had paid off. however, she's slightly put off since netizens seem to think she only debuted because of her looks, and not because of her talent, because she's barely on par with everyone else. she knows deep down that the entertainment company debuted her in garnet for a reason, and she's determined to prove to everyone that she deserves her spot in garnet.
