There was a brutal fight between Alpha and Rabble inside Potato’s garden. All three ended up being caught in an explosion. Because of the strength and skills that Alpha and Rabble had, an alchemist tried to recover their souls by binding them together. They couldn’t repair any one of their masks and thought a pallid devil might help mellow things out, they threw Potato in for the ride.
It worked and the end product was shackled, fitted with a control device and sold to the only willing bidder—a mercenary broker living inside the stony skeleton of a dead, giant ‘angel’. There was no time for the three souls to figure their shit out since the only time they were released from their binds was for either training or jobs. Eventually, their owner messed up, got themselves killed and they spent several weeks figuring out how to unlock their bind while bickering constantly and making hilariously bad attempts at committing suicide (mostly thwarted by Potato) a few times along the way.

‘Azul’ (*Adelise Aadishri Agrapina Abiba Allura Aristi Aydia*) (she/her)
This Devil likes/ed laughing at people, cocktails, stealing and deception. Used to be a saboteur and thief-for-hire, but got caught, died and was reincarnated. It was pretty painful. Used to have a lot of pet birds that whispered secrets to her. Fights with magic. Calls herself a 'Yabbist', whatever that's supposed to mean...

‘Rabble’ (*Radley Radoslav Ernesto Radulfus II*) (he/him)
Likes fixing things with a hammer, revenge, fur coats, collecting statues and getting paid on time. He worked as a bodyguard for a bunch of people and hunted down Alpha after she accidentally murdered a client’, but ended up being stuck with them instead.

‘Potato’ (*One Two Three Four Five Six Seven More Vitelotte Nichola Linzer Kipfler Jersey Royal Desiree Bamberg Yukon Gold*) (they/them)
Likes gardening, scarecrows, flowers, stargazing, hats and the semblance of order. Was a groundskeeper that got caught up in the fight between Alpha and Rabble, They were used to repair the holes in the mask—but also to keep them ‘under control’. Hates birds, snails and other vermin (like thieves and other trespassers) that used to plague the gardens they were hired to tend. Fights with their limbs and gardening tools. Clearly the best.
