2. Create a new Instagram account. This is going to be the account that will
have the username you want. So if you want the username “Hayden”, that
username will be transferred to this account. This is the ʻplaceholderʼ account for
the instagram username you are trying to take.
Your account should have something to do with the username you are trying to
make. If the username you want is “Hayden”, make it look like youʼre from a
business named Hayden Inc.
Example: I want the username Hayden. Therefore I will make the username
@HaydenGraphics and act as if Iʼm from a company named Hayden Inc.
Before going to step 3, you should upload a few pics and follow a few people to
make it look legitimate. This should only take a few mins. This is not mandatory,
but it is suggested.

3. Go to http://help.instagram.com/customer/portal/emails/new
Name: Use the name you put on your e-mail
E-mail: E-mail you just registered
Subject: Tradmark Request
Device Type: (use the device you registered the instagram with. If your phone is
Android, put Android. If your phone is an iPhone, put Apple.)
Message (DO NOT USE THIS EXACTLY. IF YOU DO, INSTAGRAM WILL
CATCH ON AND THE METHOD WILL BECOME PATCHED. YOU MUST
CHANGE IT UP USING DIFFERENT GRAMMAR AND WORDS.)
Here is an example message that has worked for me:
Hello,
My name is (name you registered e-mail with). Iʼm currently studying at
________ (any college) for Graphic Design. I am studying to get my master in

and small-business designs. I am on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr, and now I
am trying to move my business to Instagram. I am wondering if you could
possibly put the username @(username you want) to my account? It is VERY
inactive and hasnʼt been used in years. The account is in no use at all and it
would really help my business become more popular than it already is. Please let
me know if this is possible, I can send in a full resume as proof. Thanks!
Again, change it up every time. Donʼt always choose graphic design. Maybe try
engineering? Just change it up every time or the method will get patched.
Tip: The more inactive the account is, the more likely you can get the account.
