- The Pool of Stars.
- This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. Meeting in the radiant heart of New Celest,
- the broad city streets come together in a large, open plaza of marbled stone. Rising in the centre of
- the plaza is a structure of noble and luminescent pillars which suspend a round, ring-shaped platform
- twenty feet above the light-studded surface of the pool below. The atmosphere within the structure and
- around the pool bristles with a warm, electrical energy, giving a slightly disorienting sense of
- dizziness and euphoria. A gradually ascending stairway winds its way about the inside of the pillars,
- leading towards the upper level of the structure and offering a bird's eye view of the pool. There are
- 2 marble benches with emerald insets here. An enormously wide circular pool, as dark as the night sky,
- glitters softly between the columns. His form suffused with soft light, the Keeper of the Pool of Stars
- stands here attentively. A statue of Zenobia the Queen of Queens stands here, memorializing her noble
- spirit. There are 5 archons of Eternal Light here. An imposing sword of radiant white metal has been
- driven deep into the ground in a silent statement of intent. A mosaic tiled chest stands here, ready to
- share donations given. A golden retriever is here, panting quietly to himself. There are 5 cavaliers of
- the Light here. There are 6 Kusalas of the Tahtetso here. In the shape of an open palm, a metallic
- sigil lies here. Glowing gently with a soft blue light, a delicate dreamcatcher has been permanently
- hung here. There are 2 corpses of a rat here. The body of a dead baby rat lies here. A full-grown rat
- prowls near your feet. Her gaze cast demurely downwards, Yuleshka stands clad in a simple white shift.
- You see exits leading north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, northwest, and up
- (open door).
- You blink.
- You say to Yuleshka the Acolyte, "Oh, hello. Don't see you out and about often."
- Yuleshka the Acolyte mutters under her breath as she turns towards the old aquamancers guildhall "the
- shell necklace of et-" Her one eye blinks, and she drops a hasty curtsey to you. "Hello! Lady Farain
- keeps me rather busy. But I am on an errand for her now."
- You say to Yuleshka the Acolyte, "Ah, I see... should I assume that it's something to do with the
- Aquamancers' champion's artifact?"
- You ponder the situation.
- Shadows grow longer in anticipation for the return of their dark mistress as Father Sun's chase brings
- him closer to the world's edge.
- You say, "Or is that the guildmasters'..."
- The Pool of Stars glitters with sudden power.
- Yuleshka the Acolyte nods her head. "The Shell Necklace of Eternal Tides, yes. Lady Farain was sending
- me to inquire after it."
- The Pool of Stars suddenly begins to froth violently, expelling a dazed and confused Dubor from within
- its churning depths. As the Pool of Stars calms itself, skeins of light drip from Dubor like liquid and
- just as quickly dissipate.
- Dubor leaves to the north.
- You say to Yuleshka the Acolyte, "I'm afraid it vanished upon the dissolution of the guild."
- Celestial notes ring out vibrantly before being carried away by the wind.
- A rolling wave starts to form, then suddenly subsides.
- You say, "It may well be in the Admiral's office, but I am no longer able to actually enter. ... Not
- really sure I remember the phrase for getting in, either."
- As the sun passes below the horizon's edge, Mother Night unveils her terrible, shadowy beauty,
- spreading darkness across the land.
- "She said-" Yuleshka the Acolyte hesitates a moment, before perhaps paraphrasing "She said that she did
- not give an heirloom of her house to Crystian so that it could moulder in a damp storeroom somewhere,
- and that I was to ask Manchal what his intentions were towards her family property."
- You say, "Well, if my word is to be of any weight- and it bloody well should, seeing as I was the final
- Admiral of the Aquamancers- it should go back to those who donated it to the guild in the first place.
- Would you like me to escort you?"
- The pulsing glow emitted from the Guiding Star Lighthouse surges brilliantly, a shining beacon of hope
- that reaches across the entirety of the Basin of Life.
- Yuleshka the Acolyte exclaims, "Oh, that would be very kind of you!"
- Soft mewlings betray a kitten crying for its mother somewhere nearby.
- Yuleshka the Acolyte begins to follow you.
- You nod your head sagely.

- and rose make up the walls of this spire. The rhythmic sound of water dripping from the ceiling onto
- the smoothly surfaced floor imparts a relaxed mood to the strictly academic atmosphere. Standing
- prominently at the front of the classroom is a flip-over chart with a series of maps of the Basin,
- accompanied by detailed diagrams of demesne strategy. Periodic charts of the known elements, anatomical
- drawings of various races, and illustrations of various magical abilities line the walls. Manchal

- You see exits leading west (open door), up, and down (closed door).
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer casts a curious glance over at the pair of you. "Greetings child,
- Admiral. What has prompted this visit?"
- You have emoted: Tridemon glances over toward Yuleshka, gesturing toward her to encourage her to make
- her request without his immediate intervention.
- Pulling herself up straighter with your encouragement, Yuleshka the Acolyte says, "Light's blessings.
- Lady Farain has sent me to inquire as to the whereabouts of the Shell Necklace of Eternal Tides."
- A touch drily, Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer says, "Has she now? Will she accept my assurances that
- it is safely kept against future need?"
- The soft lambency of passing hummingbirds filters in from outside, shedding light on a dark night.
- "I do not think such assurances will suffice" Yuleshka the Acolyte says hesitantly, hastening to add
- "Though she will doubtless be grateful to hear that you know where it is."
- It is now the 7th of Dvarsh, 553 years after the Coming of Estarra.
- A trifle stiffly, Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer says, "I was not aware there were any particular
- conditions attached to Lady Farain's gift, when she granted it to the Aquamancers."
- The soft lambency of passing hummingbirds filters in from outside, shedding light on a dark night.
- You say to Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer, "If I may... the Aquamancers as a guild are no longer
- what they were, as a cohesive whole. The entire purpose of the Shell Necklace of Eternal Tides was in
- the service of the Champion to rescue those in need, if I'm not mistaken. At the very least, to be of
- even marginal use, it would need to be re-attuned to the new realities within the City."
- Yuleshka the Acolyte colours, plainly uncomfortable. "She would not do anything so uncouth as to demand
- a gift be returned! But if it is lying forgotten and neglected somewhere..."
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer softens slightly. "Is it too reminiscent of its loss at the bottom of
- the sea?" He frowns down at Yuleshka, then turns to look at you. "It is a new era, true. But as much is
- true for the shell necklace of eternal tides as the medallion of azure waves, or the tome of the white
- sands. Those were not without their powers as well, and it would grieve me to see the set broken up."
- You ponder the situation.
- Frowning, Yuleshka the Acolyte says, "Possibly. That might explain something she said about Javile's
- Memory. I did not want to pry... But you do agree that something should be done with it? So that it is
- not lost and forgotten?"
- Raising a finned brow, Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer says, "Nothing would bring me greater pleasure
- than to place them somewhere safe, but where they might serve to commemorate the glory days of the
- Aquamancers."
- You say, "Perhaps something similar to what was originally done with the Pearl Staff of Rushing Water?"
- Musing, Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer says, "Perhaps indeed... Displayed where they might be
- retrieved if ever called upon."
- You ponder the situation.
- Her voice a little distant, Yuleshka the Acolyte says, "Perhaps the Lodestar Athenaeum would be a
- suitable place."
- You say, "What are the origins for the Medallion of Azure Waves and the Tome of the White Sands? It
- might behoove us to check to see if such a display would be amenable to the parties that might have
- similar claims as Lady Farain?"
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer nods his head thoughtfully "Yes, that would serve well, as a place of
- rememberance-" He pauses and looks over to you, pressing his lips together. "The Medallion was gifted
- to the College of Aquamancy by the Tide Lords themselves. I cannot imagine that they would want it
- back, but then..." He shrugs "I am no longer as certain as I once was of understanding their wants. The
- tome... I believe if any have a claim on the tome it would be the Nerales."
- You have emoted: Tridemon raises a hand to his temple in the memory of some frustration or pain.
- "Let's... not talk to the Tide Lords about this until they bring it up themselves. Bothering them is
- genuinely somewhere behind walking through the streets of Magnagora stark naked in my list of things
- I'd rather not do."
- Yuleshka the Acolyte looks curiously at you.
- You say to Yuleshka the Acolyte, "I do not want to talk about the time I accidentally canceled
- Aquamancy, so please do not ask."
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer says, "Mmmm. I believe we can safely say that I, on behalf of the
- College, may officially bestow the Medallion as I please. If you wished to consult Lord Yadothune
- Nerale about the tome, to be safe, and, of course, Lady Farain, to be sure she approves, that might be
- wise. Although speaking to Professor Shervalian is probably the next step, as I doubt she would be
- pleased to find plans made regarding the Lodestar Athenaeum that did not take her research into
- consideration."
- Singing drifts in from outside, faintly muffled.
- You say, "Alright... So, first Professor Shervalian, then Lord Yadothune, and then Lady Farain. ... I
- really hope I can remember where, exactly, they are. I don't keep very good track of people in the
- first place..."
- Ready for a new adventure, you point boldly towards the horizon and declare in a proud tone, "Onward!"
- Yuleshka the Acolyte exclaims, "I appreciate your help!"

- You say, "Because you have a discerning eye and excellent instincts."
- Yuleshka the Acolyte says, "Aquamancer Manchal sent us. He would like to know if the Lodestar Athenaeum
- would be willing to house certain artifacts of the Aquamancers, and keep them from being forgotten."
- Professor Yimone Shervalian says, "Certainly. That certainly aligns with our purpose here. I will need
- to consult with Brother Serole and Aquamancer Manchal about the details." She takes out a small
- notebook, and makes a note within. "We will need some time to prepare a proper exhibit, but it can
- certainly be done."
- Yuleshka the Acolyte says, "Oh! Well, good! There's still some, um, details to work out to make sure
- the artifacts will be available, but I think this will work. Thank you so much."
- A sense of longing fills the air, accentuated by the lapping of the ocean waves upon the distant walls
- of the city.
- You say, "To be clear- and to make sure you don't have to actually ask Manchal about the details that
- we should have provided you in the first place- if we are successful in convincing all parties
- involved, it will be the Medallion of Azure Waves, the Shell Necklace of Eternal Tides, and the Tome of

- Yuleshka the Acolyte shuffles her feet awkwardly.
- Professor Yimone Shervalian says, "Ah, thank you Keeper. I would be glad to provide a place where those
- can be admired properly. And their tales preserved."
- You nod your head sagely.

- You peer about yourself unscrupulously.
- Scowling, Lord Yadothune Nerale says, "Some of me swashbucklers 'ad a bit too much to drink. They'll be

- Bowing with a flourish, Lord Yadothune Nerale says, "Thank ye for yer help in savin' my ship."

- The light spread of cloud overhead fluffs up into sparse cotton bodies.
- Wide-eyed, Yuleshka the Acolyte says, "Oh! Yes!" She offers a hasty curtsey. "We were told that the
- Nerale family might have a claim to the Tome of White Sands, and as we are hoping to have it put on

- You say, "I knew it was one of these rooms, I just couldn't quite recall which."
- Lady Jarana Farain inclines her head gracefully to you, and gives her Acolyte a small smile. "I hope

- Yuleshka the Acolyte offers a deep curtsey before answering, the words tumbling from her swiftly.
- "Light's blessings, Lady Farain. I have spoken to Aquamancer Manchal as you asked, and he has assured
- me that the necklace is safe in his keeping. He is willing to have it be housed elsewhere, so long as
- it is with the other two. He suggested the Lodestar Athenaeum. Professor Shervalian is willing!
- Lady Jarana Farain compresses her lips slightly as she listens to her Acolyte's account, considering.
- "So long as it is not lying forgotten somewhere, I am content." She smiles radiantly. "The Lodestar
- Athenaeum will be a noble housing for so storied an artifact. And when it is needed next, we will know
- where to find it."
- Yuleshka the Acolyte nods her head vigorously, her posture relieved.
- A flash of cold, pale light rises out of Caoimhe Dell before quickly fading, mixed with a high-pitched,
- mad cackle.
- Muffled laughter echoes from somewhere outside.
- Musing, Lady Jarana Farain says, "The bracers may be more difficult to track down... Perhaps an errand
- for another time."
- You say, "Excellent. If you prefer, I can go back to notify Manchal of your agreement so that Yuleshka
- can have a rest from her endeavors of meeting so many people in so short a time. ... and being slightly

- Lady Jarana Farain straightens up abruptly. "Slightly -singed-? What have you been doing with my
- Acolyte!? Yuleshka, dear, come here and let me look at you. Yes, yes, by all means, leave her here to
- rest while you tell Manchal."
- In a flat tone, you say, "Lord Yadothune's ship, the Kelpie Maiden, was on fire. The -ENTIRE- ship."
- Muffled laughter echoes from somewhere outside.
- Yuleshka the Acolyte blushes, stepping closer to Jarana Farain. "I'm fine, I did not get burnt in the
- least. The Keeper was very quick to freeze the flames before they could hurt me."
- Singing drifts in from outside, faintly muffled.
- Lady Jarana Farain exclaims, "Lady Shakiniel defend. I would have thought Lord Yadothune had enough

- You sense the piercing eyes of Gurashi looking upon you.
- You say, "Apparently the swashbucklers who were responsible for the conflagration will be spending some

- You say to Lady Jarana Farain, "I'll notify Manchal of the agreement. I'm sure you'll hear back from

- Ready for a new adventure, you point boldly towards the horizon and declare in a proud tone, "Onward!"
- You brush your fingertips along the surface of the mural, allowing your touch to move from Raziela to

- Singing drifts in from outside, faintly muffled.
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer says, "Ah, excellent. I did not expect much objection from Lord
- Yadothune, though I will admit I was not entirely certain how Lady Farain would feel about it."
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer says, "I will be sorry to see the artifacts go, but it will be good
- to have them out where they can be admired, or more easily retrieved in time of need. Brother Serole

- You say, "She said that the Lodestar Athenaeum will be a noble housing for such a storied artifact, and

- some bracers, but if I'm not mistaken, that's something for the Cantors to deal with?"
- Singing drifts in from outside, faintly muffled.
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer frowns pensively. "Bracers... Ah, the cantors. The Celestial Bracers
- of Rhapsody were retrieved at the same time as the Shell Necklace of Eternal Tides, now that you
- mention it."
- You say, "Well... I'm sure that someone can talk to the Voice of Rhapsody about them. ... Someone else,
- hopefully."
- Manchal, the Scholarly Aquamancer inclines his head to you. "Thank you for your assistance in this

- You nod your head sagely.
