- >Night on the edge of the Whitetail Woods.
- >It was a simple night of camping for you and Twilight.
- >Her idea, one that you almost leaped at the chance to take.
- >Ponyville was starting to get 'samey', and Twilight had agreed with you.
- >So, for the weekend, here you two were.
- >The stars were bright, and there was even an aurora overhead, undulating in many blues and greens as it shimmered in the night sky.
- >Luna was pulling out all the stops tonight, clearly visible thanks to the lack of city lighting.
- >Twilight nuzzled into your shoulder as you peeked through the telescope you two had brought.
- >This particular 'star' you were looking at was actually a highly reflective comet coming straight at the planet.
- >Twilight assured you that impact was literally impossible. Luna wouldn't let it happen.
- >You wrapped an arm around your mare, letting her take a peek at whatever took her fancy.
- >No words were needed, just simple comfort from the other.
- >It had been a hectic week for the both of you.
- >Twilight's duties had stepped up a fair bit, your own little workshop got slammed with orders...
- >And then there was the pregnancy scare with Rainbow Dash, which caused the cyan pony to hole up in Twilight's library for a week before the pegasus agreed to a test.
- >Surprise surprise, she wasn't.
- >Twilight pulled away for your turn to look through the telescope.
- >You sacrificed that in exchange for a long, loving kiss under the stars.
- >Her eyes widened as she blushed, a comforting smile taking its place as you broke off.
- >Twilight shivered briefly as the wind picked up a little.
- >Nothing outright cold, but it was still early spring. To be fair, the two of you still shouldn't be out here.
- >Just yesterday, it had snowed. Melted on contact, but even so.
- >You packed up the telescope as she settled in near the fire.
- >She had some marshmallows in her magical field, slowly roasting them over the fire.
- >As you came closer, she gave you one of the perfectly roasted treats.
- >Smiling mischievously, you leaned over and shared it with her, which lead into another deep kiss.
- >"Mmm, sugar sweet..." She muttered playfully.
- "Aren't I always?" You replied in kind.
- >Twilight giggled and settled into your lap as you sat down, each of you with a book.
- >You, a short and sweet comedy book. Twilight, her mom's newest Daring Do novel.
- >Not even on the shelves yet.
- >The two of you fell silent again, but it was still a comfortable one.
- >She yawned every now and again.
- >You reached over and pulled a quilt over your taller body, which in turn draped the blanket over Twilight.
- >She hummed in comfort and rubbed her head into your stomach, a pleasant tingle shooting through you.
- >Tonight was unfortunately the last night the two of you could spend out here, but it wouldn't be the last ever.
- >You and Twilight would find time again.
- >For now though, sleep was calling for you both.
- >Twilight set up the tent again, which the wind had pushed over.
- >With an annoyed huff, she anchored it to several trees in addition to the ground.
- >"Let's see it move now." She groused.
- >You chuckled and extinguished the fire, stepping into the warm tent after her.
- >It seemed much larger inside than outside.
- >Must have been her magic.
- >"Come on, Anon, I'm cold and sleepy..." The purple mare said, punctuating her sentence with the occasional yawn.
- >She was curled up under a blanket on a cushion that was more than large enough for two, and you joined her soon afterwards.
- >Twilight then turned to latch on to you, her 'personal heater.'
- >A soft kiss to the top of her head, and to dreamland you both went.
