- say what U will about global warming, but I've been thrilled with the weather this year. Lows crossing Florida bringing rain to Pinellas while safely dispersing the Gulf moisture/energy that might otherwise power hurricanes. If memory serves, no land falling tropical cyclones in Florida this year. (Would be nice if insurance rates would drop accordingly. Don't hold your breath.)
