- BACKGROUND || jihee was born in jilin but grew up in seoul with her mother, father, and older brother jihoon. from a young age, jihee took interest in dance and took tap and hip hop lessons, she even tried voguing and whacking to improve her skills. when she was twelve, she started wanting to learn about music production and layering songs, and decided to make tracks on her computer to learn. she started to work at her dad's music shop to learn how to play different instruments and learn music terminology. her mother was training her to be a doctor but gave up and let her carry on her dream of writing scores for movies. she was scouted at a talent show, aged fifteen after performing one of her tracks with her rapping over it.
