She was born in Gunpo but later on moved to Daegu because of her mother's work when she was young. Her father and mother always fought when she was young, therefore she always chose to hide her feelings and be positive and happy all the time. When she first went to school, she was really shy and lonely. But she met her first friend named, Yeo Reum. Ever since then, she wasn't the lonely and shy girl they first met, she was now the happy-go-lucky girl everyone wants to hang out with.

But when she turned Grade 6, some drama happened between her and her other friends. Her friend said that he was hurt because of Jirein not talking to him that much anymore. But the reason of why she wasn't talking to him that much anymore is because she was now becoming uncomfortable when she hangs out with boys and she was always awkward when she talks with boys so that's why she wasn't talking to boys that much, only girls. But Jirein didn't say anything about why she wasn't talking to them that much, she just wanted to make up with her friend, so that's why she asked if they could not fight anymore, then they made up.

But she's not very confident with herself, she cares a lot about what other people think of her. However, she doesn't show this side if her to people, all they see is someone who's very happy, positive, and meme-like.
