Rat Xeno, Rat Xeno

When the tiny snatcher stirs in its enclosure, Blue expects it to lunge at the glass. The stupid shits always do that. Instead, its lips twitch with the regular cadence of a rat’s sniffing and it runs a hand across the side of its head, as if to clean. It pops upright, remaining shockingly steady for a body that’s just expended all of its energy.

Then it paws at the glass and tries to sniff it. Its claws slip and slide on the pane as it looks for purchase, but it doesn’t freak out like a snatcher would. It continues to circle, curious about its surroundings.
