Hey folks, it's been a while since I've posted here. Sorry about that.

Now, I'm making a topic today because I've been dicking around with one of my cloud servers and I decided to mess around with a copy of Discourse (which is a free and open source forum software) and put it on the server. I'm trying it out because I feel it would be better for this forum than phpBB would. I put WOW branding on it but that's only just to test how this forum would look like if we did decide to switch.

Now, keep in mind, this isn't an announcement letting you guys know that we're switching forum softwares/hosts/whatever. [b]This is only an experiment. There is absolutely zero guarantee we're moving to this.[/b] And I want you guys to try out these "new forums" with me and see how you all like 'em!

I'm also trying out a new category sort that relies a lot less on subforums and makes more sense, too. Another upside is that approving posts from new users is a LOT faster (you can easily find the "Needs Approval" section) and you don't have to go through so many hoops to ban someone.

Some features that Discourse has that phpBB doesn't:

[*]The ability to make a post in a popup that goes over the page instead of going to a new page
[*]Thanking/liking posts without having to refresh the page every time
[*]The ability to put a poll in a reply to a post and not just while creating a topic
[*]The ability to use all emoji (Windows 10 emoji, in fact!!)
[*]The ability to upload images directly to your post instead of either attaching it or linking to it
[*]You no longer have to click through pages to scroll through topics; just scroll down or use the bar on the right
[*]You can quote snippets of posts by just selecting part of a post and hitting the "Quote" button that pops up
[*]The ability to reply to a single post instead of a topic
