>however, there's always enough who flee and survive
>survivors then gather up in strength again in a nearby pasture

>however, the last time this happened, a bear was chasing after them

>the surviving feral fluffy ponies were fleeing into the city

>you and the ranger make lots of spaghetti
>feral fluffy ponies love the smell of spaghetti just like their domesticated kin
>but before locating the feral fluffy herd, you go looking for a bear

>you and the ranger soon stumble upon a bear
>tell the ranger to shoot the bear
>ranger does so, hitting the bear with keen eagle eye
>bear gets angry
>it stands up on its hindlegs, roaring loudly before trying to run towards you
>the strong sedatives start working
>bear stumbles around, soon falling to sleep
>compliment the ranger on his shooting skill
>he feels honored
>asks you what now
>you open your bag containing your dead fluffy pony sidekick
>tear its fluff away from its corpse
>glue the fluff liberally around the face of the sleeping bear with tree sap
>you tell the ranger that you must now lure the feral fluffy pony with the prepared spaghetti close to the bear before it awakens
>ranger is confused, but does as you say

>you quickly locate the herd of feral fluffy ponies and lure them to the nearby vicinity of the bear
>the fluffy ponies are following the both of you with their nose
>you both try to make sure that the feral fluffy ponies aren't seeing you
>dump the spaghetti on the ground
>now go hiding
>fluffy ponies soon come upon the spaghetti pile
>start eagerly feasting upon it
>bear is now waking up
>tell the ranger to stay close and give you cover
>you put on your fluffy pony mask
>approach the fluffy ponies from behind
>they're too focused on the spaghetti to notice you
>they're soon finished
>they're all lying with full bellies on the ground
>meanwhile, bear is now fully awake
>it feels something strange on its face
>tries to get it off, but can't thanks to the tree sap and your expert skills in wilderness survival
>roars angrily
>the feral fluffy ponies all hear that
>they start getting frightened at the loud sound
>"whaaa?! nuuu!" "fwuffy scawwed" "no wike no wike" they all squeak

>when they see the bear trying to scrap the fluff on its away, the 'smart friend' proudly proclaims to the great herd that "no be scawed! no iz meanie munsta! iz onwy odah fwuffy!"
>the fluffy ponies are all cheering happily
>the bear is confused for a moment
>it then looks down on the tasty morcel and focuses on filling its stomach first before getting rid of the fluff stuck in its face
>it growes
>the 'smart friend' turns around
>it seems that it actually considers this to be a challenge for leadership over the entire herd
>the 'smart friend' puffs out its cheek, making itself look bigger and intimidate the bear the fluffy ponies are all confusing as one of their own
>what a little bit of fluffy pony fluff can do, you smirk
>"fwuffy am smawt! big fwuffy no am smawt! big fwuffy wisten to smawt fwuffy!" the 'smart friend' arrogantly growls
>the bear just swoops down with its paw, crushing the 'smart friend'
>all the other fluffy ponies are just watching, stunned from what just happened
>the 'smart friend' is barely alive, twitching and trying to say something
>no sound exits its mouth full of blood
>before the 'smart friend' drowns in its own bile and blood, the bear lifts the smashed remains of the leader of the feral fluffy ponies and starts munching it
>"waaaa?!" "wha big fwuffy do wid smawty fwend?" "why booboo juice come out of smawty fwend?" "iz big fwuffy now smawty fwend?" the herd asks confused
>the ranger looks confused too, asking why the fluffy ponies aren't running away from the bear
>the fluffy ponies are not running away screaming and terrified as they would normally do after witnessing such because they see the big bear as a fluffy pony, you explain to him

>the ranger just looks astonished to the scene playing before his eyes
>immediately, two pregnant fluffy ponies go toward the bear, flanking it from both sides, rubbing their heads against its fur
>"big fwuffy iz now smawty fwend!" they both babble, trying to secure their place as the favorites of the new 'smart friend'
>the rest of the herd accepts the 'big fluffy pone' as the new 'smart friend'
>the feral fluffy ponies cheer and hug and laugh and chase each another in celebration
>"pway?" "give huggies?" "wha fwuffies now do smawty fwend?" "make poopies hewe safe?" "fwuffy get babehs. oda fwuffies hewp fwuffy with babehs?" they all ask their new leader, since it is the 'smart friend' who decide for the entire herd
>the bear does nothing but simply grab one of the pregnant fluffy ponies close to it and bites it in half
>unborn fluffy foals drop out from the torn apart pregnant fluffy pony down to the dirty ground an, where the female fluffy ponies soon huddle around, thinking that they can help the dead preterm foals
>the bear simply eats the fluffy ponies one by one
>none of the fluffy ponies are considering this to be bad, since they are certain that their new 'smart friend' knows what it is doing
>the bear finishes after eating over half a dozen fluffy ponies and now slowly goes away
>the feral fluffy ponies all follow the bear, who doesn't care too much about them anymore
>the bear stops after a short while, and starts dropping its spoor
>the fluffy ponies all start pooping and peeing in the same area, before following their leader again through the forest terrain
>you tell the ranger that your job is now done

>the bear will eat all the fluffy ponies and follow it until they're all dead or the fluff falls off from the bear, you explain
>and since the bear will keep eating the fluffy ponies, their fluff will get stuck on its face, making it impossible for the charade to ever stop
>soon, other bears and possibly even other predators will then eat the fluffy ponies, and they won't run as long as their 'smart friend' leader isn't dead or running away itself, you add
