Mirrors Edge VS Catalyst

Why I think the original Mirror's Edge is better than Catalyst:
I think the level design, aesthetics, enemy types, sound design, and music - was much better in the original game.
...But Catalyst's sharper controls, some of it's combat, and the MAG-Rope - are all big improvements. (Except for the enemy's rag-doll sillyness after any mild stumble. That stuff is just stupid)
I also am one of the minority that ENJOYED the gun usage from the original game, I thought the way it slowed things down and forced you to deal with enemies where your parkour moves were useless, made each of those encounters more memorable - because you had to switch your gameplay thinking to a method the player isn't really a superhero at.
By comparison, most enemy encounters in Catalyst are forced arena's and only require you to mash the same boring kick's over and over again until the enemies topple over each other and you're allowed to continue.
The most fun in the game - I think - is when KSec spot you, and start chasing after you. Suddenly it feels like the original game again, where there's some kind of active PRESSURE and REASON to keep moving forwards. KSec needed some Pursuit cops though. Seriously.
Also, the whole random NPC's standing on rooftops, rotating cast (Who finished the game and wished you could hang out with Noah again? Too bad for you) Movement & Combat upgrade tree, and lack of major physical landmarks in the city - made things feel very Point-A-to-Point-B and transparent.
On a side note, I REALLY think the realistic & modern look of the original game's city & buildings is FAR more stylized and amazing looking with it's grand vista's and skylines, than Catalyst's sci-fi building style & cramped space feel.
What I love about Catalyst? Just running around the city.
What I love about the Original? The sense of urgency, the rush of speeding thru the courses as quickly as you could... and the various levels of height the game takes you thru - to really explore the entire city.
*shrugs* But that's just me.
