  1. Thank you Lucas for sharing about social media and automatic emergency braking
  2. Hi, I am Pierce and now I will be discussing two sections:
  3.
  4. 1. our third and final solution
  5.
  6. 2. evaluation of our solutions
  7.
  8. Our final solution called "collab prevent". (POP)
  9.
  10. This solution is about collaborating with retailers, aiming to clarify the current rules and regulations with PMD riders,
  11. which (as ZhiSheng has shared), is a cause of PMD accidents.
  12.
  13. We will be distributing infographic pamphlets to these PMD riders via the retailers after every purchase.
  14. Here's what they look like (POP)
  15.
  16. There's a mini quiz at the bottom and the purpose of this is to reinforce the learning of the information above. (POP) (circle around the question)
  17.
  18. Taking a look here, all the questions are literal questions. They don't require the reader to read between the lines. They're LITERAL QUESTIONS.
  19.
  20. And this is a good thing. They're straightforward and easy to answer.
  21.
  22. The purpose of the quiz isn't to test the reader's critical thinking skills, THE PURPOSE is to get them to refer to the text, which is what literal questions require.
  23.
  24. -----
  25.
  26. There are two other strands of logic behind this solution
  27.
  28. Firstly, retail shops would already have PMD riders in them, since riders go there to buy PMDs or related accessories (POP)
  29.
  30. Secondly, hard copies provide more authenticity than soft copies, which would be more effective in convincing them to abide by the regulations in place. (POP)
  31.
  32. -----
  33.
  34. This fulfills the project aim.
  35. Why?
  36. Because PMD regulations are made with the purpose of ensuring safety.
  37. And an increase in the rider's obedience of the regulations would lead to a decrease in PMD accidents. (POP)
  38.
  39. To summarise, "collab prevent" collborates with retailers to educate PMD riders on the rules and regulations, which would clarify doubts they have, resulting in more people abiding by them and hence, a
  40. safer environment
  41.
  42.
  43. ------------------------------------------------------
  44.
  45. Now, I'm going to be evaluating the solutions that Lucas and I have covered.
  46.
  47. Regarding our first solution, which is the social media campaign "Be PMD Aware" (POP), we acknowledge
  48. that there are SOME limitations to the solution, however the solution can be enhanced to tackle the limitations.
  49.
  50. -----
  51.
  52. Our second solution is taking automatic emergency braking systems, which some cars use, and installing them
  53. onto PMDs. It DIRECTLY reduces the number of PMD accidents and injuries because collisions are prevented
  54. altogether. It can be argued that AEBs would be even MORE effective on PMDs than cars because the speed limit
  55. for PMDs are 3 times slower than that of cars. This makes it even easier for AEBs to brake the vehicle.
  56.
  57. -----
  58.
  59. The final solution is "collab prevent" and it TOO has limitations. However, we also have ideas to counter the limitations of this solution.
  60.
  61. -----
  62.
  63. In conclusion, despite there being limitations on our solutions, our solutions can be modified to overcome them and
  64. hence, successfully decrease the number of PMD accidents, which is our aim.
