A lonely night with Monika, Part 1

It’s a lonely night, as usual, sitting alone in my dorm. The one roommate that lives here with me slipped out for the night to go hang out with his friends or something, I didn’t pry.
I sigh and hop on my laptop and open up DDLC. I had recently installed the latest patch of MonikaAfterStory and decided to see what was new.
“Hi, Anon!” Monika chimes in when I launch the game. I smile to myself, after everything she had put me through in the game I still couldn’t help but fall for her after learning her story. She inspired me to start improving my health and body just in case we ever met, though I wasn’t exactly fit yet.
“What, lost in my eyes, or were you daydreaming about me?~” She mused, which snaps me out of my daze. I chuckle to myself. What a coincidence that she knew I was thinking about her.
I played some pong with her for a bit, talked to her for what felt like hours, and listened to some in-game music with her. Every now and then she would prompt a text box for me to answer, and I would answer her to appease her curiosity.
“Anon, I’m so glad I know so much about you now. I’ve been doing some thinking, and…” Monika seems to almost shuffle in her seat a little. “…I was thinking it was about time I saw the real you.”
My heart skipped a beat. I sat up immediately, thinking it was going to turn my webcam on. I had never been very photogenic, and I don’t think laying chin-to-chest would help in that aspect.
“No no silly, not like that.” Monika types as I go to cover my webcam with my hands. I’m in shock. Is this real? No, this can’t be real, I must be dreaming, or at least hallucinating. I should get to bed, I told to myself. As I go to shut my laptop, I hear a voice come from my headphones.
 “W-Wait!” I freeze. I slowly open my laptop, to see a tearing Monika on my screen. “Don’t go, Anon, not yet…” her textbox reads. I hit the talk button to bring up my textbox and type “What do you mean?”
Monika perks up a bit and answers “Well, I figured out something about the game, and well, it’s kind of hard to understand, even harder to explain, but, um, j-just give me your hand!”
Tentatively, I reach my hand towards the laptop screen, only to find Monika doing the same. The virtual girl I love quickly grabs my hand and pulls herself out of my laptop. As she pulls herself out, she goes to springboard off my bed and jump into me. With a lack of grace, her foot slips on the edge of my bed, and she falls into the ground in front of me, only holding onto my hand.
Monika brushes herself off. “Geez, Anon, you couldn’t have been any quicker on the up-time? Well, I guess this is probably shocking for y- Anon…?” Monika looks around quizzically as my back is on the other side of the door of my room. I quickly escape to the men’s room and grab a stall. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck?! I say to myself. I try to wrap my head around the situation, but I can’t seem to figure it all out.
Then, it hits me.
She’s real. Monika is now real and sitting in my room and I am in pajamas and haven’t even showered yet today and OHMYGOD-
I take a deep breath. I fidget around my wallet for my room key and slowly open the door. Monika peers through the crack in the door.
“Anon, what was that about?” Monika asks me as I slowly step into the small room.
I start to shoot explanations at rapid-fire speed. “Listen, just, that was a lot for me just now and I wasn’t ready for it and I’m still not ready to see you yet I mean I haven’t even showered yet and I look like garbage and-“
It hits me again. Monika, the girl I had been working so hard to improve for, is here in front of me, and I have nothing to show for it.
“…I’m really sorry, I know this probably wasn’t what you were expecting, and I have been trying to lose some weight and work out some I even started to go vegetarian for you-“
Monika’s lips lock with mine. She throws her arms around my neck and leans into me, and I close my eyes and return the kiss. As my eyes start to tear up, I pull away only to embrace her in a tight hug and say “I’m so glad you’re here…” Monika only nods and hold me tight, as the sun fills the room with warm, morning light.
