Had a thought about a sci-fi show.  Basic premise is a giant colony ship, thousands of people, traveling with crew and such in stasis(cryogenics, hyper sleep, etc, whatever).  Because even with automated repair systems and multiple redundancies you need human oversight, a basic crew of 5 (computers, engineering, security, medical, logistics) man the ship.  They work a 4-5 year stint, then go into stasis and the next five wake up and take over.

Each episode, or arc of episodes, would feature a different crew of 5 people and play out with a different plot and style.  Like one arc would be a romance between two crew members, while one arc would be a high-tension save the ship from disaster emergency, one episode would be the crew sitting around telling 30th century versions of old ghost stories, while another could be a locked room murder mystery as 4 crew try to figure out which one of them killed the fifth, etc.
