WHAT YEAR IS IT?
Yes, I am using Abra. Mostly for teh lulz, and for the fact that it's another way to enjoy the game. It makes some fights much easier, and removes a lot of the tougher Abraless movement. Yes, it is thought to be ever-so-slightly slower, but although I haven't timed anything, I can certainly beat my PB using Abra, so I thought I would give it a try and see how it goes since Spitfire was asking about it recently (even Shiru suggested looking into it, as it could possibly be faster if it were perfectly optimized).

DIFFERENCES
- I will pick the boy, because the second May rival fight leads Wailmer instead of Numel. While this is riskier, Wailmer gives more exp, making it easier to get L18 for Grovyle (your options otherwise would be something like chain manip a L12 Aron off Abra, which wouldn't even be enough, or fight Laura as Mudkip, which fight sucks).
- I will fight Brawly late. This means I am a lower level for a number of fights in the early game, which is a disadvantage, but not a deal breaker.
- I will get Strength early, allowing me to beat Brooke guaranteed (+1 Strength instead of 77% MS range). The fight is slightly riskier though in that Wingull is a speedtie.
- I will set my warp point to Mauville instead of Petalburg, allowing me to abuse Teleport. This means no silly deathwarp strats on Flannery (+1 2HKO on Torkoal instead).
- After late Brawly, the route plays as normal until Fortree, where I will enter the center to set my warp point there. This allows me to do Mt. Pyre early, then just Teleport back to Fortree to do the whole gym as Swampert. This saves a ton of X items.
