- Nier Story Time - The World of Salt
- -------------------------
- Welcome children! It's me once more, Storyteller Starmech! We are right at the very climax of our tale. Time sure flies, am I right? But I know you folks are smart; You know how this goes. This may be where the story may reach a conclusion, but we have yet to fully reach the end of our adventure, far from it...
- In this world, a singular tale may have more layers than you may think...
- But still, we are reaching an end and that's a milestone worth celebrating, am I right? So how about another story? One that may hint at these "layers" we will soon start to peel off. Just a small sample of what's to come. A seasoning if you will to make that meal just more delicious...like salt...
- Wait...salt...That's it!!
- *Ahem* This is the story of a World of Salt!
- Salt all over the place. Salt on the streets! Salt on the buildings! Salt in the air! Everything was coated in salt as if a blanket of ashes had brought the tucked the land for an eternal slumber.
- As you see, in a world of salt. People were also salt! One day one would wake up and find themselves feeling strange and then...you were salt! Or perhaps one day you'd look around and find that your family was now salt. Quite a strange and horrifying life must that be.
- But was there only salt? Well, no...kinda. As you see, when salt spread through the land, the people did not notice at first, but when the people started to become salt they sprung quickly and created a wall around to keep it all contained. As such, the world of salt was but just a city, and then just a country but nothing more. That did not stop the fact that people were becoming salt, however, and the people were baffled. Who would cause this?
- Well the answer is simple, my children: A God! A Nasty God! A terrifying God! A God from another world! A God filled with so much hatred...Watching...Watching over and wishing every day for humanity to just be gone!
- And that's how they did it. Through ashes they spread and this ash became salt. Salt that would bring humans slowly come into contact with the gods; And the gods would give them but a choice: Become their weapon; their tool for destruction....or become salt!
- But I'm sure you now be wondering. Did anyone choose NOT to become salt? You are correct! As many turned to salt, others became something else: A monster! A ravid mindless drone filled with nothing but the desire of destruction. One which would attack humans without a care, and would round up with others who had chosen to become monsters. All mindless yet sharing a common brain: A LEGION.
- And atop that Legion there was a particular monster. A person of piercing Red Eyes who acted as their general, relentlessly coating the sal on the streets red!
- As this was happening, the people outside the walls, a union of nations, proceeded to plan on what to do. Japan was compromised! there was nothing else to do. But they were also dumb. Veeery dumb. And of course, one nation, which you can totally guess which one that was, offered an idea: BOOM! Nuke the whole land of salt into smithereens!!
- Now you would imagine the target country would not like this, and they didn't. after all, they were /very/ familiar to this. But what other choice they had!? Soon enough this legion would break through the wall and then everyone'd be doomed!
- As such, the plan went into motion: KABOOOOOOOM!!! Goodbye Shinjuku! goodbye to the land of salt!!
- And so it all appeared to be the end of the story...but alas, the plan did not go as planned. You seem, the big kaboom did not stop the salt, in fact it just spread it off the walls! The salt and ashes spread throughout ALL of the world and after a time of peace, people started to slowly once again start turning to salt. It was now finally donning the right to be called a World of Salt...
- The people that remain looked up, near losing hope. The Legion kept spreading, and the salt continued to fly through the air. But the people's leaders proceeded to think of a new plan: A series of plans! And to accomplish this plan they would harness the one thing that did not become salt: The corpse of a Red Dragon, found impaled at the top of Tokyo Tower...
- And so from the Dragon's blood came forth the discovery of magic and two plans were devised: A plan to create weapons and combat the Legion....and a Tool that would be in charge of saving them all.....
- Now, I feel I may have said enough. I wouldn't want to ruin the fun now, now would I? Till our next story, children! Let's us go forth with the show!
