Rise to Power...
The Ya family is a fairly young dynasty with King Daejin's father, Yangho, overthrowing the previous ruling family ( the Chang, who had ruled for centuries and kept the city / kingdom peaceful and prosperous ) about fifty years ago. The uprising was violent and the carnage was something the once pacifist state had never bore witness to. The Ya family was little known and had no noble blood, Yangho had been the son of a failing merchant. Upset with the "lies" of prosperity the royals spread, Yangho led a revolution to bring equality on all grounds. The revolution would last for two years with many civilian casualties. Yangho beheaded the former king and made sure his whole family was wiped out to prevent them from reclaiming the thrown.

Early years...
The beginning of the Ya's rule was led by extreme social reform, tossing all the nobles to the curb and allowing more power to the people. The people prospered under this and Ulsan quickly became a newfound power. Then the nobles returned to reclaim their power and there was little Yangho could do about it. To prevent another bloody revolution he married with a noblewoman, Hyorin of the Pyo family. She was a greedy women who cared little about the people and only about herself, she manipulated her husband into killing off any who would oppose him and soon he ruled over Ulsan with an iron fist. Any who dared rebel in the slightest was imprisoned or killed. It was rumored that Hyorin was a witch and had destroyed Yangho's mind. Mysteriously, when he had begin to restore his old ways he died in his "sleep" and his tyrannical son took the throne. Hyorin was killed after this, but soon after Daejin married to a woman Inwha who's cutthroat ambition and cruelty reminded many of the former queen.

Recent Events...
In recent years civil unrest has been clear in Ulsan, with disputes breaking out between the king's arms (military) and rebels seeking to overthrow the Ya family. Daejin's oldest son, Hyeok, who was seen as a kind soul with a more even temperament than his father, was killed in action when rebels attacked his base. Joomi, the eldest princess, disgraced the family name by helping the peasants and acting unladylike. Some suspect she may have been a rebel spy, but on her 25th birthday she disappeared. Daejin was later assassinated while holding a ball in honor of his daughter Subin's 23rd birthday. This left the royal family weak, leading to anarchy within the kingdom. But Inwha has a plan up her sleeve, wanting to put her devil of a son on the throne and destroy all those who would wish to rid the world of the Ya name.

⇲ BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS
HABITS OF YOUR CHARACTER WHEN...
▻ Anxious ∴
It is almost impossible not to notice when Subin is anxious, her hands fly all over the place, trying readjust this and that or toying with a loose thread. She avoids eye contact and her eyes tend to stay glued in one place. She will clam up and refuse to give you answers, just refusing to speak. Subin will get a faraway look in her eyes because she is trying to conjure up a fantasy of her being anywhere but where she is in that moment. Subin obviously on edge, will become snappy if she decides to talk at all. She will try and find any means of escaping where she is. If she is alone, Subin will dim the lights in her room and curl up in a blanket to watch old films until she falls asleep.

▻ Terrified ∴
Subin isn't quite the chatterbox, but she isn't totally silent either. When she's scared Subin suddenly becomes far more talkative and hysteric, talking to herself and telling people off for the smallest things. She will lash out and blame everything on someone. If she is close to someone else she will immediately drift closer to them, and will oftentimes cling to them. When it comes down to fight or flight, Subin will always choose to run away. However, when she is alone and scared, she is practically paralyzed and finds herself frozen in one spot until the feeling subsides enough for her to find some place less terrifying.

▻ Happy ∴
Subin isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but she is always striving to be happy even if that means lying to herself. When she's happy she can only focus on herself and brushes off other people's negative emotions. Happiness leads to her being talkative and going on long, winding tangents that often serve no purpose. Subin also will do reckless and stupid things, trying to prove herself. Happiness, however, is a rarity for her, since her mother is constantly stringing her along in her dangerous, deadly schemes. She mostly stores happiness as a mask, something to be worn but never something to be felt.

▻ Angry ∴
Anger? Subin wishes she never had to feel such a thing. Surrounded by the violence and wrath of her family, Subin wishes to be different and represses any irritation and anger she feels to the deepest darkest parts of her soul. However, when she gets angry, it's like a hurricane. She explodes into fury and will break anything nearest to her and sometimes, it is tempting to just take someone's neck and snap it. There is no warning for her anger, it erupts in a split second.

▻ Sad ∴
This is the state Subin is stuck in most of the time, drowning in self-loathing and regret. Since her normal disposition is this most people wouldn't be able to tell that she was indeed sad, since nothing is out of the ordinary. However, if you get to know Subin you notice that she isolates herself and when she does emerge she tries to repay others, for what? No one knows. She feel like she owes the word something for just existing. Subin doesn't do much and tries to distract herself with meaningless hobbies and when she is forced to do something by her mother, she cannot sleep and watches the stars, imagining that all the people that have died under her watch are stars in the sky. Subin doesn't really cry when she's sad, she's too numb. When she's scared or angry she will.

⌞ Give me one reason why your character didn't kill Lee Taewon.
The only reason I can offer up is that Subin strays away from violence and she is quite skittish. However, with her family history and instability, it is very likely she could've killed him.

⌞ What can they not afford to lose at any cost?
Loved Ones.
While her family treats her like dirt beneath her feet and is always berating her and mocking her for being dumb and weak, they are the only thing Subin has in this world. Their twisted and demented love is all that she has known and she clings to it, terribly afraid of being left alone to fend for herself. Subin also truly loves her family and would do anything to make them happy, even if it means completely who she is and trading in the fire in her soul for a monster with jagged teeth.

⌞ Which out of the seven deadliest sins is your character most inclined to?
Envy -
Subin has always wanted what she cannot have, what others have. Things like love and appreciation seem unattainable to her. Her constant envy for people, especially when they are kinder, better than she is, makes her want to break things, break people. She wants to be normal, to be worth something. She wants what other people have, waking up to see themselves in the mirror not a monster.

Sloth -
Subin is plagued by indecision and often turns her head to injustice she wishes she could fight. There is blood on her hands that she just lets sink in, not bothering to wash it away. While she wishes to do something, do something to help her people under her mother's cruel rule, she can do nothing but submit and waste away. She has no purpose, simply obey what her mother says.

⌞ What is your relationship with your partner?
Yoongi was strung along to be Subin's partner, making it an overt forced arrangement. Her mother wanted to pick someone more... well-liked match, like Jimin. However, no one really wanted to offer themselves up for the daughter of a lineage of mad kings and now, a mad queen. Subin tries to engage with Yoongi, tries to find common ground and he brushes her off. She asks some insensitive questions and Yoongi fires back with barbed insults about her family. After that, things are tense between the two with both of them near loathing the other.

⌞ Describe your partner

♕ Bitter, Resentful. Min Yoongi isn't an outright angry man. No, he prefers to keep his rage sharpened and poised, ready to strike exactly when he needs it to. It seems to be the only thing that keeps him running is his need to prove others wrong and make fools out of those who made his life miserable. He also holds a lot against his brother, seeing as he is the supposed "better" version of himself.

♕ Calculated, Cunning. Yoongi is a special kind of sly. He does not plan ahead like Namjoon would, plotting every possible move to get to checkmate. Instead, he observes. He watches and learns everything he can from people so he can pinpoint their weaknesses and bring them to their knees.

♕ Cold, Brash. The silent brooding type? Yup, that's Yoongi for you. He pushes people away and isn't afraid to tell you the hard truths. In short, he's an ass that you can't seem to irk or get riled up in the slightest, you can't garner any reaction from him, but he will have you swinging fists in his direction with just one word.

♕ Fearless, Reckless. The two traits go hand in hand. Nothing seems really scare Yoongi, except for maybe... losing people (not that he'd admit that. plus, there's no one he really cares about anymore.). He is willing to give up everything just to reach his goals. He cannot take care of himself in the slightest, not that he cares. Death would be a welcome companion. *cue mcr music*

♕ Just, Protective. Despite his callous attitude and give-no-fucks persona Min Yoongi hold an unsung amount of good in his heart. He cannot not stand mistreatment, and takes upon himself to be judge, the jury, and the executioner. Not only are his morals somewhat sound, he will risk everything to protect the ones he loves. In fact, if he just had someone to care about he would be a far lighter man, a bit of a trickster with a laughing gleam in his eye. But that was not how things were meant to be. He is vengeance personified now.

⌞ Describe how you met
Subin and Yoongi's first meeting was brief. They exchanged formalities and Yoongi barely talked while Subin chattered off ceaselessly from nervousness. Subin's first impression of Yoongi is that he's a total ass and probably is going to kill her or something along those lines. She also finds him quite intimidating. Yoongi thinks Subin is a total airhead and just ignores her. Both misjudge each other severely.

⌞ Give me one reason why your partner isn't the murderer.
Yoongi? Yeah, well, this dude seems pretty guilty. But, I suppose I feel like he'd make sure he wasn't caught and wouldn't stick around to see the aftermath.

⌞ Did your partner change significantly after the masquerade ball?
Yes. Yoongi acts off and more irritable. However, he also slips up and allows Subin to learn some personal information about him. With her constant prying he eventually gives in to letting her be a "friend." Whatever the hell that entails.

⌞ What is your relationship with the deceased king?
N/A
The Ya family does have bad blood with his family, however.

⌞ Do you have relationship/s with the other suspect/s?
I feel like Subin and Hoseok could bond over a lot, y'know with that terrible family history. And Seokjin, I feel like they wouldn't necessarily get along but their parents would. Like Inwha highkey trying to seduce Seokjin's dad and Seokjin lowkey treating Subin like a little sister.

I think one of the parents (i.e. Seokjin's dad bcus he hella suspect) arranged for the prince/king to be killed and Sihyuk is helping to cover it up. PROBABLY SO OFF BUT I LOVE CONSPIRACY.
