- The sun glares in the distance. For a moment, it almost seems as though the poets words would prove true.. that there was nothing poetry could not accomplish. That, like a guardian angel, the power of rhythm could protect him from all..
- "OoMFPh!"
- The samurai yells, flying across the ground as the second shot made contact. He slowly got to his feet, using his sword to help him up as he spat some blood to the side.
- "I s-see.. my words were not strong enough. I must replenish my arsenal of vocabulary.. at try once more."
- He assumes a traditional Izhuran sword stance, lightning gathering around his body in an elegant miasma. He withdraws his blade.
- "However! First, I must show you that my sword cuts as severely as my spoken word!"
- (Ise Fusatada)
- Leo awkwardly walked over to Amoxtli's side. He seems really confused. A xanthous veil embraces his frame, light emanating from the male's body.
- "Um. L-Let's PLEASE not fight, okay?", he pleaded. "I'll just bring her home and stuff..."
- (Leo Favero)
- Cassius takes a stand next to Ise, lifting the weighty hammer from his back. He glances over to the man beside him, speaking in a stern manner.
- "You should have gone back when I told you to. Know she's angry and I'm stuck defending you."
- Golden light began to illuminate Cassius' form. He raised his large tower shield in front of Ise and himself, ready to defend.
- (Cassius Hallow)
- Amoxtli whispers something.
- Leo Favero whispers something.
- Leo Favero whispers something.
- Cassius Hallow whispers: Focus our efforts on Amoxtli first. She needs to be dealt with as soon as possible.
- Ise Fusatada whispers: That holy mage is targetting me, hnng..
- Cassius Hallow whispers: Deal with him first, then.
- Ise Fusatada whispers: Right.
- The fierce fighting brought the forces up close and personal. She couldn't track it all; nay, she was blind, that was impossible. The sounds of fighting brought her close, held MOSTLY true her aim, and Cassius' aura gave the Sin a dead giveaway of his location.
- Within a few breaths, Ise unfortunately got far too close for comfort. Though rather malnourished looking, the Glutton's jaw opened unnaturally as he swung his blade, before the woman dived for him, jaw enclosing on the flesh she'd manage to reach. Steam rose from the corners of her mouth as she went through the swordsman's wrist like puddy, the flesh ripping unnaturally off.
- Then, comes Cassius. She felt as if she was being focused down, the hammer getting harder and harder to dodge. She eventually found herself close to him, gun raised towards him as a fierce BURST of sound magic is fired off RIGHT next to his head. The force of it blasted off his ear anda large chunk of flesh, revealing the inside of his mouth as well as deafening one ear.
- Thankfully, his eye and glorious eyebrow were spared from the onslaught.
- Leaping backwards, the glutton's jaw still remained open, nose flaring up as she tried to locate her prey..
- (Amoxtli)
- Gruesome.
- What was supposed to be little more than a simple skirmish turned into something much, much more serious. A glance is shot to his 'partner' - blood oozing from her mouth, canines drawn out. Eyes dart to Ise, and the male's hand had been brutalized by a set of hungry, hungry teeth.
- "-- Amoxtli! Enough!", Leo cried out, only now realizing the consequences of this ordeal. And Cassius; Cassius' cheek had been blasted apart by the violent blast, his face now unsightly for the eye.
- His teeth grit. This had gone way, way too far.
- Leo was quick to place his frame between the girl and her escaping prey, eyes carefully scrutinizing her next choice. Whether she'd elect to move backwards and flee or move forward and chase.
- Forwards was going to get met, of course.
- (Leo Favero)
- BANG
- Compressed sound would blast Cassius in the head as he rushed in to help Ise, blowing him to the ground. Surprisingly, he didn't feel much pain, only numbness in the side of his face. His ear rang harshly, as he tried to prop himself back to his feet, his hand touched something... odd. He picked it up and look at it what he was holding, and it vexed him greatly. It was an ear- or most of one. With a shaking hand he touched the side of his head, feeling his wound. It was his ear.
- He looked up at the trio in front of him, and what a sight they must have seen. His gaping face writhe and glowed with order magic, attempting to heal itself as much as possible. The wound was too harsh for the hole in his face to close, or for his hearing to ever return; however all bleeding had stopped and exposed flesh had already been covered with skin and nasty looking scabs.
- What a horrible day be a good person.
- (Cassius Hallow)
- Ise didn't know what to expect going into it, and for a while? Things looked like they were going well. Alongside Cassius, the samurai had managed to deal more damage than he would have thought possible during the beginning of their bout.
- His Drakanite physiology in addition to his swordsmanship, and minimalistic use of magic allowed him to defend himself adequately. Sure enough, however, things quickly began to take a turn for the worst.
- As the battle went on, Ise found himself unable to keep up with the combined power of the two opposing forces that began to focus their efforts onto him. Upon being thrown across the ground, he struggled to get to his feet. His ears kept ringing, his vision was blurred. He didn't know how much longer he'd last. Then, a certain someone's words echoed in his head.
- ...when your control over your own mana reaches a certain point, it resonates with the realm around you...
- His hand clenched around his blade. Ise closed his eyes, centering himself and focusing his breathing as he called upon the forces of the unseen realm that overlapped his own. A gentle outline of energy magic clung to his figure, releasing a subtle hum.
- He thought maybe he'd be able to turn the tide of the battlefield, but as soon as he got up and felt the power coursing through him.. a different sensation followed. Before he could even so much as move out of the way, he felt it.
- The power of gluttony. His eyes froze in fear as he saw Amoxitl lurching forwards, her jaw seemingly unhinging as she tore through flesh and bone with her teeth. He didn't feel it at first, but when the shock left him he fell to his knees. The samurai released a shout of agony, face scrunching up in pain as he felt blood rapidly leaving the spot where his hand used to be.
- (Ise Fusatada)
- Something- someone was in her way. Leo; though she didn't know it was Leo, was preventing her from pursuing the fallen duo, he gun charging up once again. She'd CHARGE at the man, attempting to strike him down as well too, the call of gluttony urging her to finish them off.
- A hand wasn't enough to sate her.
- This gave the duo a chance to help defend Leo or flee; it was their choice, after all.
- (Amoxtli)
- Cassius began to refocus himself. He was just in a fight. There were enemies around him. His comrade had been injured, and badly.
- Then, she turned on Leo. How could this day get worse? He scraped himself from the ground, then dashed over to raise his tower shield between Leo and Amoxtli. He was far from finished here.
- "This is ENOUGH Amoxtli! I can no longer sit idly by and watch you continue to hurt others in your ravenous rampages! You will harm no one else here unless you kill me yourself!"
- (Cassius Hallow)
- Cassius cringed as he yelled, it certainly hurt to move his jaw, what little he could.
- (Cassius Hallow)
- And Cassius' charge didn't go unnoticed. Yet... He sided with him?!
- "Cassius, no! Back off! You're hurt -- You're both hurt! I'll handle her, please go!", he pleaded-
- But didn't quite had enough time to finish his piece, for her onslaught of madness was fierce and unrelenting indeed.
- (Leo Favero)
- He saw blood.
- Red.
- All over the plains. On Amoxtli's moth. On Cassius' body. On Ise's figure.
- Fury was sent alight. It had been a year and half since he'd come so far, but this was the first time he'd seen so much blood. It was a brutal sight, and one that this calm and normally very reasonable young man was not accustomed to seeing.
- "THIS. CANNOT. CONTINUE." The metallic arm he held glowed with heat, his entire body surrounded with contained heat rivaling that of a volcano. He horrid magic radiating off the the Drakanite...that was the source of this. That was the cause of this bloodshed. And now, the target of an unfortunate bystander's rage.
- To think that blind woman had been someone he'd offered his help to, if only giving her the benefit of the doubt...to think that people like her existed on this world, to injure others...
- ...that was enough for him to wish more than death upon a stranger.
- (Zero)
- Ise felt his blood boiling. His whole body was in pain, caught in a frenzy trying to react to the absence of a hand. He'd never felt so much pain in his life, and it showed in his expression. The Drakanite flared his nostrils, grit his teeth and furrowed his brows.
- With his free hand, Ise summoned a surge of electricity. No hesitation. If he didn't stop the bleeding immediately, things weren't gonna' end well. He closed his eyes, and soon enough..
- He cauterized the open wound on his hand, charring his own flesh shut to stop the bleeding. The young man released a cry of agony, a bloodcurdling shout proportionate exactly what he was feeling.
- Weakly, he picked up his sword with his free hand and stumbled to his feet. He walked over to Cassius's side, planting both legs in the ground as he narrowed his gaze onto the sin magi.
- His face was rouge red, and he was sweating a lot. It was clear he was struggling tokeep his composure.. but pushed on anyways. He forced a smile, briefly glancing towards Leo.
- "You.. picked the wrong side. Made a mistake, but.." He huffed. "I won't hold it against you.. you was tryin' to do the right thing. But now? I've gotta' do the right thing."
- (Ise Fusatada)
- Zero is gonna sucker punch Amoxtli while everyone else faces her head on.
- (Zero)
- Cassius was not going to stop now. He would keep rushing into Amoxtli's tempests over and over again until he could finally help his old friend. Somehow, some way, he would spare her of her curse.
- He hefted his greathammer once again, tightening his grip on his shield as he prepared to rush into battle once more.
- (Cassius Hallow)
- The combined forces of four magi would overwhelm the sin magi. As the dust settled, he would see Amoxtli lying on the ground, but still conscious.
- Cassius approached her, kneeling down at her side. He leaned in to whisper into her ear.
- (Cassius Hallow)
- Cassius Hallow whispers: Amoxtli...
- Cassius Hallow whispers: Can you make me a promise?
- Amoxtli whispers: ..'epends on.. what.. it is..
- Cassius Hallow whispers: No more fighting. Just stay home, please. I care too much about you to hurt you anymore...
- Amoxtli whispers: I can't... ever... promise that.. I'm.. Atlan..
- Cassius Hallow says, "Then, I'll have to put you away. I'm sorry."
- Amoxtli whispers: ...no.. please... not again... that place was.. hell..
- Cassius Hallow whispers: What else can I do? You know I can't just let you attack and eat the people of Ardent.
- Leo approaches the fallen woman. A xanthous veil of light embraces his frame, and his palm is found to be fronting Ise - his wound, in particular. The soothing light is extended towards the fallen male, and his grievous injury would soon cease to bleed.
- Which means he'd get to live. For now.
- "No.", he replied to Cassius. "I cannot let you take her. You're wounded, and I'm not sure I can treat it - though I am sure I can treat -her-. Please seek help, Harboa should be by the clinic.", he commanded.
- He'd reach to contest Cassius' grip upon the woman, refusing to yield unless physically stopped.
- (Leo Favero)
- Amoxtli whispers: I'm.. supposed ta' see.. Suha... but Geese never... shows up...
- Cassius Hallow whispers: We're going to get you help. We will find a way. We'll get Suha, ok?
- Ise fell to a knee. His good hand clung to the hilt of his sword, which was now stabbed into the ground to keep him from falling over.
- "I-..we need to t-.."
- His eyes went blank, as he fell onto the ground--effectively rendered unconscious after fighting to such an extent even after sustaining such a grievous injury.
- (Ise Fusatada)
