  1. THE EASY (BUT LONG) WAY TO GET GOOD
  2.
  3. 1. LOWER YOUR SENSITIVITY- The more effort it takes to move your crosshair onto something, the more effort it takes to move it off of something. This provides a more stable aim platform allowing for further fine tuning using (preferably) small arm movements. Wrist movements should be reserved for across-screen twitches.
  4.
  5. 2. MAKE YOUR AIM CONSISTENT- Play another first person game? Make your sensitivity the same as in FPS games. Disable mouse accel, enable raw input. Get a better or at least new mouse if it is incapable of preforming basic functions correctly. Clean your desk and mouse area to ensure consistent tracking.
  6.
  7. 2A. MAKE YOURSELF CONSISTENT- Being able to drop into a brand-new FPS or many first person and third person games in general relies on developing muscle memory. This is achieved by CONSISTENT arm position and sensitivity (regardless if it is 3rd person or 1st person). Adopt a comfortable sitting posture and arm positions for all games that require a keyboard and mouse. You shouldn't be forced to fidget around to be comfortable, that requires taking your focus off the task at hand and potentially fucking up.
  8.
  9. 3. AIMING IS AIMING IS AIMING- If the game has a crosshair and involves shooting things; chances are that you can keep your sensitivity close to the same and thus further the development of muscle memory.
  10.
  11. 4. FLEXIBILITY- More of a life lesson than anything. Abstraction and application of ideas is generally considered critical thinking. Good for you, you're a part of the smartest species of animals in existence.

  13. 5. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE
