  1. Tarik "Gunny" Hamed
  2.
  3. *Backstory*
  4. Tarik didn't really have the greatest start to his life. Being born in the Redmond slums is practically a life dead-end on it's own. Being born to Arab refugees didn't help. Even worse he was born an Ork metavariant to devout muslim parents. By 12 Tarik was on the streets on his own, running with anyone that didn't mind having a little ork muscle behind them. At 15 was when things started to look up, he drew the attention of a UCAS military recruiter. Lured by promises of training, and more importantly regular meals and a roof over his head Tarik committed to a 5 year active enlistment.
  5.
  6. The next 5 years flew by in a blur. Training, 3 tours along the Sioux Nation border, a year in Denver as part of the UCAS forces there, then a year on the UCAS desert wars team and things were looking good. Near the end of his tour of duty, Tarik was looking to re-enlist when he got an offer too good to pass up. Join the Ares Desert Wars team; same risk, triple the pay, and early access to all the latest Ares combat gadgets.
  7.
  8. Unfortunately Tarik got assigned to an all human platoon, with a commander that rose to the highest levels of incompetence on the backs of more skilled soldiers; with the support of mighty nepotism. What followed was a disastrous season. Tarik's squad lost every single engagement. Obviously there was no way it could be Kyle's fault. Kyle was the Golden Child of a corporate exec, and his record leading up to this was near spotless. The ONLY person that could be to blame was the new guy. The only Metahuman on the team. Less than 3 weeks after the end of Desert Wars Tarik was once again out on the streets. Black-listed from trying to join another Desert Wars team, and now too old to re-enlist with the UCAS military, he didn't have many options.
  9.
  10. The next year was spent drifting from place to place, working odd jobs as muscle for various petty crime bosses, and avoiding getting in too deep with any gang or group. Tarik followed his gut and any time his intuition said leap, he did, always bouncing just a step ahead of the law or any consequences. Each time he hopped he stepped deeper into the shadows until he was able to get his old identity scrubbed and step fully into the world of shadowrunners.
  11.
  12. *Description*
  13. Physically Tarik is bulky even for an Ork, He stands a little shy of 6 foot tall, but between the heavy muscling, and extensive cyberware he weighs near 300 pounds. Both arms are cybernetic from the elbow down, rather than opting for the synthetic cyberarms, he opted for shiny chrome, which he keeps polished to a mirror finish. Well mirror, finish except for the racing stripes and flame decals stuck to the arms to make him faster.
  14. While Tarik keeps up with the latest fashions this is primarily so he can do the exact opposite. His typical choice of casual dress is pastel board shorts with sea scenes printed on them and the brightest, loudest, most migraine-inducing Hawaiian print shirts that he can find. Given how the world looks at him, Tarik has opted for giving people a reason to stare. Well, stare until their eyes start to bleed. This incredible fashion sense even extends to his taste in hair styles. Alternating between multi-color liberty spikes, mohawks in the brightest colors he can find, and the occasional fu-manchu mustache in a color that contrasts with his hair.
  15.
  16. When he has to dress up, Tarik wears trendy cuts, and makes sure his clothes are as fashionable as possible except for the colors. His personal favorite is a brilliant crimson with caution orange highlights, that set of the green of his skin and dull red of his beady eyes. Wherever he goes there are 2 reactions. Stare in shock, or avoid looking at him at all costs.
  17.
  18. As far as personality goes, Tarik leans towards sarcastic humor, though his voice tends to be flat, and seemingly emotionless.
