  1. Anubi - These are jackal headed beasts, and often the body of some other animal. They stand on two legs and can suck the magic out of things, implying they have a natural affinity for messing with the afterlife. They live for about 400 years on average, but all of them are practically dead so... yeah. Recently however, weaker variants have seemed to start reappearing with the minor abilities of their ancestors, and occasionally more abilities of a different nature.
  2.
  3. Nymphs - Nymphs are an only female race, of which had died out quickly due to the mass extinction, but left behind some odd beasts through their cross-race breeding in a feeble attempt to prolong their race. However, when they were alive they were the embodiment of their home environment, more often than not extremely powerful in any form of nature too unless it was their polar opposite. Almost all nymphs excel vastly at their specific element, or possibly two. Nymphs can take on several forms as well, implying a knack for illusion.
  4.
  5. Revenants - Revenants were essentially liches before liches, oddly enough. They were the original, and they were definitely a force to be reckoned with, except for the fact they weren't always necromancers. They are a failed experiment by Fen'Mirai to make an immortal race that can reproduce indefinitely and almost always seem to be practically insane. They can take on any form they wish, but most like to retain their original form if they can remember it. These creatures are immortal, and tend to protect their original habitat relentlessly, cruelly, and with no exceptions, or wander the land harmlessly. These ghost-like creatures are wispy in nature with most physical objects simply passing through them, and occasionally one or two have a physical body.
  6.
  7. Strithus - Beyond the mindless drivel of most Golems, there are the Strithus, of whom are naturally occurring elementals that tend to be far more intelligent than most people. Unfortunately, their 'flesh' withers constantly. Their flesh is in constant need of repair by their own element. If they lose all of their element, they go mad and become rather lanky, their own core essence sustaining them. No longer being any element they attack with their own life force. Some may argue that life force itself would be the equivalent of necromancy, but that's not necessarily the case, because the will behind using your own life makes this specific type of magic extremely powerful, but it tends to be a last resort with no chance of survival. On top of them being elementless, some may argue that they are even more twisted forms of Revenants gone wrong, for the gods tried many times to make a perfect race.
  8.
  9. Elves - These folk were actually hunted down by almost every other race for being lying, thieving, and deceitful pricks who arguably even caused the mass extinction back then by waking up the slumbering god of destruction. Their thirst for knowledge and power was insatiable, and it didn't help that they had a sour attitude about it too. They did anything they could to achieve power or knowledge, often leading them to be deformed and monstrous in appearance through dark rituals. Elves themselves were the weakest race, but their will to go on was admirable, and easily underestimated. They tend to be very sly, cunning, and born with knack for getting out of nasty situations.
  10.
  11. Ancient Humans - These are often massive, slender or bulky, hairy men that are about 9 ft tall on average. They are excellent warriors, but are even better mages if they are born with the ability to do so. They are often wanderers and have no actual place they stay. They tend to be more intelligent than the average man, and live for about 280 years on average. However, variants began to appear throughout the ages, with magic deforming them slowly depending on what their ancestors used.
  12.
  13. Cthulhu - Cthulhu looking humanoid things that are incredibly intelligent and well attuned to their surroundings and can often identify things even if they have never seen them before. They pull all of their information from an ancient hive mind that is inactive and almost dead except for its vast stores of knowledge. They are often masters of magic and can suppress the conscious of sentient people, but can not control them directly. They can implant ideas of their own into others, and they might even think it is their own idea. (Completely extinct) They live for around 500 years.
  14.
  15. Entigia - An Entigia is an Ent that can control his wood and bark as well as sprout large, bendable branches or other things including vines. They each have unique bark that is rare and highly valued, and can be used to make the best shields, better than most metal shields as well. These are uncommon because they were long ago hunted for their bark. These Ents can also influence the nature around them as well as the ability to absorb a small amount of magic when they are hit with it and reinforce their bark. Fire will only hurt them if it catches onto their leaves and spreads. They are not so great in combat and are generally peaceful. They tend to live for several thousand years

  18.
  19. Limaro - Humanoid Shoggoth thing that's about the size of a human and has eyes that form and dissipate constantly, or at will. This giant scum bucket is usually about the size of a subway, but recently they have been declining and growing smaller and more desolate. They can turn foes that they engulf into a pile of bones, as well as shimmy up any other monster and leave large wounds in its wake. These creatures do not need air and just an occaisional splash of water to keep their gunk from going solid. These creatures are fairly durable, and are somewhat difficult to kill, but can still be achieved through fire or something with a strong enough digestive system, or silver. (Completely extinct) Immortal
  20.
  21. Volians - These folk are not to be taken lightly, often being large hulking beasts of some form that have gained intelligence on par with that of man, or sometimes greater, especially considering intelligence is passed down through their inheritance, along with everything your parents had once learned is know within your own mind. After some time however, these beasts in mind tend to form one mind mass of all of their ancestors, arguably with none of them ever dying even though their physical bodies die once they reproduce. They can learn every magic if they wished, but there are generally only 100 around at every given moment, with very few ever truly dying, changing vastly throughout their life. Some people wonder how more of these beasts actually come about, but they never seem to run out despite that seeming the inevitable cause of one day there being a super minded monster of unforeseeable power.
  22.
  23. Serai - The Serai are actually not necessarily a race, well, at least in their own day, but they deserve a name on here anyways for the odd... Changes they went through. The Serai are an ancient cult of knights, who actually believed in no gods, and pictured themselves as the epitome of perfection. Every knight could hold their own up against one another, and if they couldn't they didn't deserve to be alive. Eventually though, after having started off as a casual order of knights, they began to grow corrupt and monstrous, caring little for the lives of either friend or foe, and in their own belief of them being gods, they would dabble in their own dark magics of their making, devouring the power of their foes to achieve their belief. After some time however, when they had been a scourge upon the land for years, most of the order began dying out to Mistral's order of holy knights at the cost of them being practically exterminated themselves. The Serai that remained began to fall dormant, and under the spell of Sloth. The status of a god was practically in their grasp, but now monstrously deformed and corrupt, their misdeeds live in their twisted nightmares beneath the earth.
