  1. [12:59:18] Sirus Blackmane: Wait, Vivica.
  2. [12:59:18] Vivica: Huh? <*turns to Sirus*>
  3. [12:59:18] Sirus Blackmane: I need to talk with you.
  4. [12:59:18] Ciel "Creepers": You doing fine, Maxwell?
  5. [12:59:18] Vivica: O-Oh.. right.
  6. [12:59:18] Maxwell Chengri: <*Quietly raps his hand against the front of his left leg, a loud metallic thunk could be heard.*> Better than ever.
  7. [12:59:18] Batkem whispers something.
  8. [13:00:09] Sirus Blackmane: Follow me young one.
  9. [13:00:09] Maxwell Chengri: Just a bit...difficult to walk.
  10. [13:00:09] Ciel "Creepers": Shit.
  11. [13:00:09] Ciel "Creepers": Nice.
  12. [13:00:09] Vivica: <*follows*>
  13. [13:13:48] As the duo entered the back of the Church of Life, Sirus' eyes gazed upon the large memorial wall with hundreds of names written into it. "You know, Vivica. This town was built on the hardships and sacrifices of men and women alike who wanted to see a difference in the world. Myself, Liara, Marina, Maria, all sorts of people." He then turned to face the 10 year old with a soft smile.
  14.
  15. "Even your father, Thom. Did I ever tell you the story about how I met Thom?" He folded his arms, tilting his head back as he thought back to decades ago in the streets of Nostvale. "The year was 1038. I was a 15 year old ruffian growing up in the orphanage of Nostvale. An' yes, I am Nostvallen in origin. I'd just bought new armor and a sword, ready to go out an' adventure for the first time... Then I encountered a 9 year old Thom. He was quite hyper back then, even threatened to beat me up for information regarding a man named Bast back in the day." Sirus chuckled at the thought. It was so long ago since then. How times have changed...
  16.
  17. "He then joined up with Maria an' I's cause. Back then... he was truly a hero, everyone loved him, he was the strongest out of us all hands down. He represented the strength that made our cause as strong as it is. Then... Well...Occultic magic messes with your head. He started to develop delusions of grandeur, saw himself as larger than life... entitled. He wanted to fight us for leadership although ranks are through merit, not strength, He left us and joined the very thing he saught to destroy, just to spite us."
  18.
  19. He closed his eyes, letting out a heavy sigh. "The poor guy fell from grace. Everyone was heartbroken when we heard he joined Ragnarok. He wanted to see our town burned and everyone in it dead... just to see us suffer. in this harsh world." Then, a frown formed. "An' Nashandra pushed him towards those ideals. I know you see them as mother and father but they're bad people... Nashandra wanted to experiment on helpless individuals... turned Thom to depravity and madness... I wish I could've helped him but alas... it's too late now."
  20.
  21. He reached over towards the wall, running a metallic finger upon Thom's name on the champions section. Even encompassing the date where he died in battle against Liara and Dama. "He truly encompassed what made Cinderfall great... but was led astray by a lust for power."
  22.
  23. Sighing, he then turned and knelt down beside Vivica. He reached out to rest a hand upon her shoulder as he looked her in the eyes. "I don't know what they said to you about us but... we're genuinely good people. We wanted to right the wrongs of the world, so that everyone can sleep peacefully at night knowing that they'll survive the next day. Even you, Vivica. I assure you that as long as you're here in Cinderfall, you will be treated as a true Cinderfallian citizen."
  24. (Sirus Blackmane)
  25. [13:28:19] Following the man who desired to speak with her, Vivica didn't hesitate for a moment to follow along with Sirus. For now the letter she had with her had been placed in her satchel and ignored despite how much it bugged her.
  26.
  27. This talk was more important. Together they headed their way to the back of the Church where her eyes gazed at the memorial within it. Knots in her stomach formed, even a large grin on her visage was presented at the talk until it came to where he spoke of Thom's fall to the occult and depravity.
  28.
  29. Heart wrenching. It was lovely to meet someone who knew Thom from such a young age and tell her the grand tale of his life as, once a hero turned villian. But here was Vivica...
  30.
  31. Silver eyes followed his fingers that glided over Thom's name. His date of death. It caused a heavy, heart sinking feeling to see it, even forming tears in the child's eyes.
  32.
  33. She turned to Sirus, remaining speechless for all that he had to say. Vivica kept her eyes on his own, even when he knelt down to speak with her and place a hand on his shoulder.
  34.
  35. A smile appeared once again on her visage. Once upon a time she too wanted to see Cinderfall burn. Because of the kaor she battled, those visions poisoned the little girl's mind for months in a state of comatoes; no longer did she want that.
  36.
  37. No. Cinderfall. Here she was before the Inferno, the now adopted child to Ciel Vydres of the Outlaws and Liara Myr, Firekeeper of Cinderfall. These people strived to change her ideals, to make this little girl...
  38.
  39. Vivica Takashi. Once a member of Ragnarok influenced by the already influenced ideals of Thom, now a member of Cinderfall. She was the opposite of Thom now growing up. A man born a hero turned Villian, perhaps that wasn't her fate at first until she landed in Loranthis, but now this was her life. Growing up as a villian and turned to a hero.
  40.
  41. "I will stay in Cinderfall, Sirus." She approached the man with a hug as tears streamed down her cheeks and her eyes kept on Thom's name above. "Kraus blessed Thom. Nashandra hurt him and took him away from us. I understand why they killed him. I will not be what he was. I will not be evil. I want to be a hero of Cinderfall."
  42. (Vivica)
  43. [13:37:42] A bright smile formed upon the man's face once he heard those reassuring words from Vivica. Not all was los to those that come from Ragnarok. "Occultism is a dangerous magic, Vivica. Mix that with intense depravity and bat things happen. Thom was power hungry, a trait that no hero shoud have. A hero should strive to protect those who can't protect themselves, who want to see change in the world for the better, aye?"
  44.
  45. The man stood up, flashing her a quick thumbs up before looking back over to the wall. "Every single name on this wall belonged to someone who wanted to see Valmasia exit the darkness that enveloped her and into a Golden Age of peace, prosperity, and happiness."
  46. (Sirus Blackmane)
  47. [13:45:23] She knew occultism well, somewhat of what that magic had been capable of and even watched Yorrick display it before her months ago to make the necklace Vivica wore around her neck.
  48.
  49. It had been a chain with three glass feathers attached. A cute adornment she asked him politely to made and in a way, it was a memorial type of item that reminded her of Cucco the kaor, a close friend who helped raise her, but that very reason never had been stated.
  50.
  51. With a smile, the little girl let go of Sirus and wiped away at a tear.
  52.
  53. "Occult is bad magic. Thom wanted to burn Cinderfall and he told me that Cinderfall was bad and that it had to burn. I don't want to burn it. I like it here."
  54.
  55. She stated with a calm manner. "I want to be on that wall because I want to see Valmasia exit darkness too, Sirus. I want to protect my friends and family here and uh.. I still want to rebuild Loranthis too and paint it pink and pretty!"
  56.
  57. Yes, she was still about that idea!
  58. (Vivica)
  59. [13:49:39] Sirus laughed at Vivica's desires to rebuild Loranthis and paint it pink and pretty. Gods, Vivica reminded Sirus of Pyra when she was 10 years old. "One day, we'll defeat the Alliance and rebuild all these cities back to their formor glory. Everyone will hail our cause, calling us heroes of Valmasia."
  60.
  61. Satasfied with how the talk went, he turned to look at the door. "Anyways, you should return to the rest. Sirus here is quite busy with work! Stay safe out there, Vivica." And with that, Sirus proceeded with his departure. But right as he was about to exit the door, he turned to look back at Vivica. "One more thing. Wot Marina said a while ago... She didn't mean that. Her an' Thom use to be together so the whole situation is delicate for her... Rest assured that she truly likes you."
  62.
  63. With that thought left to Vivica, Sirus left.
  64. (Sirus Blackmane)
  65. [13:59:02] Her dreams amused Sirus it seemed. She was just a little child with a big heart, especially one that had changed throughout her time within Cinderfall. No more did she care to return to Loranthis, but instead?
  66.
  67. Vivica wanted to be a hero and bring Valmasia out of the darkness. Sirus' words, like the runic mark on her face, were a boost of confidence for her. Even after his exit and her giving nods to his words, the little girl went ahead to follow him, but alas Sirus disappeared among the crowd.
  68.
  69. And there was the one she was looking for.
  70.
  71. Satoshi. The letter he had sent was withdrawn from her satchel and stared at with deadly intentions. The little girl's teeth grit. Despite her wanting to remain calm, even uncaring that Ciel was present, she began to approach Satoshi and made her presence known to them.
  72.
  73. "Satoshi!" She yelled out for him, and continued to walk in his direction with a mad facial expression.
  74. (Vivica)
