*The legal age of consent in the Philippines is 12 which is the 2nd lowest age of consent. The average age internationally is 16.
*A hospital in Manila was dubbed as "Baby Factory" because a baby was born every 12 minutes or so. Majority of their patients are underaged.
*The government and the country are affected by this via money loss caused by the productivity drop due to the patients not being able to join the formal economy because of the lack of proper education.
*Palawan has the highest rates of teenage pregnancy in the country. Those teens often live in poor communities. The government of Palawan doesn't spend as many funds for programs targetting pregnancy prevention nor contraception.
*Dr. Jose Favela Memorial Hospital in Manila has a dedicated warrant for post-abortion patients.
