A best friend.

[16:43:18] Would rush up to Kariya, his face booming with excitement. His equipment was battered, as was the usual. His muscles were a bit larger than last time they met. Brom stopping right in front of Kariya would begin to breathe slowly. After calming down he would look at Kariya. "Kariya, have you been to the north?" he asked. Brom had a more serious expression than normal. He stood still waiting for a response, hoping not to shock him too much.

[16:49:16] Kariya glances at Brom as he approaches the young adult was relaxed, his eyes were closed until he figure out that something was getting closer, he was happyy it was Brom.
-I mean, north? Deadland marshes or bygonegrove, you meant?

Saying, the young would grab his sword on it's sheath, as if he was worried about what Brom was about to say, he tought that something very dangerous happened to him, so he searched for battle wounds around his body, but couldn't find anything, he noticed his armor, but wasn't that important for him.

[16:53:32] Closed his eyes for a second, tilting his head to the side. He rubbed his chin and looked back at Kariya. "Yes and no. I'm talking far north, past bygone." He said pointing to the distance behind Kariya. He smiled a bit, hoping Kariya would say no. It was a bit difficult from Brom to hold in his excitement. His body was quite shaky while talking with Kariya, you could even see the slight twitches.

[16:58:40] Stratches his head as he hears his friend's words, he was actually wanting to go in an adventure to test his skills once again, maybe testing his skills at his lightning teleport, or even just leaving to see how much Brom evolved.

-Ahhh... i was in there once, i saw a Kaor level yokai or something, i kinda helped some other dudes to defeat it you know... but yeah, why?

He was very confused and wondering about why would Brom say that, maybe he had some news for Kariya, he noticed his excitment, and that just made him get even more interested on it.

[17:01:13] Would continue to speak. "I was hoping you would join me on a small adventure. I bet you have already been there but I have more purpose for us to be in the north. I'll explain it all if and when we get there." He chuckled a bit hoping that his if would spook Kariya a bit. Brom would begin tightening his belt and make sure his equipment was in order. Taking a quick sip of his water he would look at the trystle caves for a second before looking back at Kariya.

[17:05:29] Would just turn his back heading to his house, he glanced upon his shoulder with a soft smile, heading to get a proper equipment for this quest, he would return with a sigh, taking a deep breath, he wanted to see how he much Brom and he himself evolved.
-Can you wait a little bit, please?

With his armor and cloak on, he would just cross his arms and stare at Brom, waiting for him to lead the way, he wouldn't need to say anything, he hoped that when he left to get his armor Brom already got it.

[17:14:01] Would look at Kariya. "Alright so don't fight anything, I know how to sneak through here easy peezy." He gave a simple thumbs up hoping that he wouldn't need to say anything else. Brom would get into a slightly crouched position. What could possibly go wrong?

[17:16:35] Would just puts his hood on as he crosses the Yokai forest, he didn't know about this place but he read the Warning, that place was obviously dangerous, but he could maybe improve his lightning powers with that, maybe he could master his teleport and improve his speed even more.
-So... we won't be fighting anything? As you wish... actually i'm just wanting to train my Lightning you know, during the fight with the Kaor i figured out that my lightning "teleport" is still too slow, maybe i could find the failure and fix it you know... but if you want to be stealth, let's be stealth.

[17:25:58] As Brom entered the strange building he would look back at Kariya. Sighing a little he would speak. "Well we had to fight a little, but we didn't die. So that's a plus." he said laughing a bit. "Anyways, this is what I wanted to show you." Brom would spread his arms out as if to signal Kariya to look around. "I've pretty much explored everywhere I could reach but I always avoided this place. Thought it was too dangerous. But then a while ago I tried sneaking in and found this."

He smiled a bit. "I don't know what it's for but since it's surrounded in yokai, it must be important. Either way I looked on the shelves and started reading a couple of the books here, took some notes and wanted you to help he figure out what the books were about. Maybe with your better knowledge we could find something more interesting here, I don't know. Should probably focus on one thing at a time." he said rubbing the back of his head.


Brom would sit down on the cold stone floors, bringing his ripped black hood down. His smile didn't seem to go away, always excited by the journey of coming to the strange citadel. He'd take out his water and begin to drink it. It seemed as if he was quite thirsty today. He would look at Kariya, placing his canteen to the side and removing most of his equipment to get more comfortable.

[17:32:48] Was simply too easy, some Mega Yokais couldn't even be anything for him, they couldn't even see him dashing quickly and abusing his lightning enchantment capacity to move fast enough for them to be unable to even see him approaching.

Taking his hood off, the young adult would look around, that place was very big, yet it was too dark and he couldn't see anyone, only him and Brom.
-This place... it's so quiet, what happened here, huh? I didn't know that we had such a building in a place like this...

He says getting closer to the book shelves, he would clean the dust of some books, searching for something that could help him to get even faster, to improve his lightning mastery and his own speed, the teleports were helpful, but he wasn't fast enough, not yet, to be faster than his own father, that's what he seek for.
-Well, i want to improve my lightning techniques, i still feel that my lightning teleport is not complete yet, i'm thinking on improving my own speed and using them together, but it's way harder than this... i still need to improve my lightning, and i have no idea about how to control myself in such speed, so... forget about me, what kind of magic you want to learn?

[17:37:55] Squinted his eyes and looked at the books. "Hmmmm... I uh... I don't know. I've only read a few of these books. Some stuff about emotions and controlling mana circuits or whatever. Something about lightning, gravity, fire and learning your affinity. I don't really get it. I thought people were just born with stuff like that. I thought this would be a good place to ask questions and try things out though. You know, seeing as there are no interruptions besides the odd yokai here and there."

Brom grabbed a random book and began scanning through it to see what was inside. Barely reading, just keeping something on his mind while he talked to Kariya. He'd look back at Kariya. "Can I even do this stuff? I don't really feel magical or anything you know?" Brom would place the book back on the shelf, pulling a stool over to him and Kariya so he could have a better place to sit.

[17:43:53] Would simply keep standing up, with his arms crossed, with a lightning book on his hands, the young adult would simply try reading some about lightning, trying to find a way to improve his lightning teleports efficiency, maybe he would need to try that in the future, of course, he would need a lot more pratice and maybe someone to train, he would'nt want to test a method to improve his speed on Brom, maybe a random Yokai on this forest would be enough.

Giving his attention back to Brom, the girl looking drakanite would simply sigh and close the book, giving it back to the shelf, he tought that if he tried to mix his speed with the lightning teleport he would be able to do something, but that wasn't tested yet so he couldn't say anything.

But his own mastery over the lightning wasn't everything he had to worry about, there was Brom, and since he didn't even understand his own elements, Kariya was afraid that he wouldn't be able to use magic.

-Technically everyone can, well, you know my affinity, i'm a lightning magi and stuff, well, tell me, let's forget about this "affinity" stuff, what kind of magic you see yourself using?

[17:50:43] Brom would rub his chin. Slightly looking above himself. "Hmmm... That's a tough question." He'd close his eyes and concentrate, beginning to imagine himself using magic. "I think of myself wielding a blade imbued with flames, a ring of fire surrounding me and an unknown opponent. Hmm... Or maybe... I don't know, I can't really see myself in much else. They all are interesting but fire is the only one I can imagine." Brom would open his eyes again.

Still not understanding much he just went off of what he could think of. "But fire usually destroys things, and I'm not much of a destroyer." He'd scratch his head a bit, confused by what his mind produced for him.

[12:14:04] Would simply turn his back to Brom, letting his lightning energy to flow, glancing upon his shoulder, the young adult would smile, he wasn't thinking on keep talking about this idea of "affinity", he was just too excited about learning lightning to think on that.

-Well, i think i can't talk about this "affinity" idea, i was just too excited to learn lightning, so i skiped this part, and... i'm a Drakanite, don't think on the fire as a way to destroy, not only. Think on it as a way to protect the ones you love, by destroying your enemys.

He says turning his hand into a fist and raising it close to his chin, he wanted Brom to learn fire, yet, he didn't know if the same thing that happens when you mix the Lightning's speed with the dashes skills, creating the Vritra style.

-Well, i think we can work in fire, and while i help you learning how to control your magic, i could improve my lightning teleports and speed, this way i think i would improve my Vritra skills, while you learn yours. Yep, we have a lot of work to do.

[12:18:20] Leaned back a bit on his tiny stool. Looking back at Kariya, he would smile. "Well, how do we start?" he asked looking at Kariya's lightning flow around him. Brom had read the books but wasn't knowledgable enough to attempt anything inside. "As far as I know, I have to control my mana and then I have to learn how to manifest it in a physical form or something? At least that's what I got from this book I read." he said pointing the to book labelled -The Fundementals Of Magic-.

He would look down at his hands and close his eyes trying to think of what he could do.

[12:27:44] Would simply take his hood off, heading to the front of the Castle, he never did something like that before, but he knows he will have to find a way to teach him, wich was really really hard for him...

-I think that i read about something about it once, i think you have to think on a flame, and be thinking on "burn" something, i think that fire magi need something to give them a meaning to keep moving on, like... they need an ambition, i think, i'm not sure, i read about Lightning magi are prone to excitment of any kind, but i don't think it fits on me... i think we could still try.

He says waiting for Brom to put his armor on and follow him up.

[12:41:23] Taking his sword out of it's sheath on his back, the young adult would put it in front of him, as if he wanted to test that in combat, his methods were pretty "extreme", and Brom probably noticed that already.

Pointing his blade to his "sparring partner" he would take a deep breath before saying, he wanted to be clear and for him to not miss any word, like always...
-Okay, it's quite simple, you need to think on a flame, like i said, usually fire magi have ambitions, do you want to protect anything or someone? If yes, think that i'm harming this person or this something, i don't know...

He says with a smile, turning his lightning aura on, he wanted to test his Vritra skills in battle again, and his lightning teleport, to combine them together with his speed, that's what he planned on, maybe that way, he would become faster than his own dad, his "goal" since he left his own house, to get stronger...

-Got it?

[12:54:11] Would nod, not really understanding what he had to do but just going with it anyways. "Yeah I got it." He would focus on Kariya, imagining him as a Yokai, attempting to devour an innocent person. He'd close his eyes for a bit, strain visable on his face. His vision of the yokai would become wavy, A red tint glowing in front of him. Small flames would begin to surround him in his imagination. The flames slowly rising. Brom's body would begin to sweat, his skin turning red.

Falling down to a knee he would continue to push. Clenching his fists, the urge to strike down the evil yokai clouded his mind. Brom would attempt to clear his mind, focusing on only the flame. His body was becoming warmer and warmer. Small sparks would fly out from his clothes.

In his vision the yokai would begin to burn, but the civilian was caught in the cross fire. He would hear the screams of the two, slowly getting louder. The fire closing in on Brom. Smoke would come out of his clenched fists before he fell to the ground face first.

He was breathing heavily, his skin staying a very hot red tone. Beads of sweat dripping down his face as he rolled over. Brom would pass out, lying on the grass. A small flame appeared on the ground next to him, quickly being blown out by the wind.

Brom's body would begin cooling down, his breathing begin to slow with it. Opening his eyes he would struggle to look at Kariya. He'd pass out again, lying on his chest. His body was already tired out, barely able to keep himself up.

[13:01:52] Would simply watch the man trying to create flames, he was doing very wall, for him, of course, Kariya saw the flames, and the more hot Brom's flames get, more excited Kariya was to test his speed against his destructive power, yet, he knew they had a lot of work to do, Kariya would simply put his blade back to it's sheath on his back, crossing his arms.

He would take a deep breath and ask for him to repeat, fire magic is very dangerous and he didn't even search to know that, it's way harder to control than the lightning he got learned.

-Do it again, we will be here until you learn it, because if you don't, i don't think i will be able to train well on you, and if you don't do your best, you won't learn by me, right?

He says with a soft smile, he was trying to encourage his friend, maybe he could find a way to focus on burning the yokai, fire magi can control the flames, so he just have to control his feelings...

-Like me, i'm pretty sure you can control the flames, focus on that feeling, and let it flow, this will work well when you are learning the basics, when you're used to it, try summoning the flames without the help of this feeling.

[13:17:13] Would slowly wake up to Kariya's voice. Rubbing his head, his body seemed to have cooled itself down quite quickly. Placing one arm on the ground attempting to bring himself back up he would look at Kariya. "A-alright.." He said, still strained from the last attempt. He would shake a bit, halfway standing up. He would prepare to focus once again. Closing his eyes. Imagining the same situation as before.

This time it was only the yokai in front of Brom. It was dark. Brom stood in the center of a broken town, his equipment was wrecked. It felt as if he had been fighting before hand in this vision. He would stare at the yokai, clenching his fists. Brom would feel the burn coming back to him once again, the anger he felt when the yokai was hurting the innocent.

Fire would surround him and the yokai once again. Heat waves began to appear in his vision. The ring of fire grew taller, it was almost as tall as Brom himself. Brom struggled, his body grew hotter but he pushed. The ring of fire split, the half near Brom would vanish while the half near the yokai stayed strong.

The ring of fire closed on the yokai, slowly compressing. Brom's body would begin to cool down. The fire in his vision would start burning the yokai, encasing it in a giant flame. As Brom watched this happen in his imagination his body would burn once again. The sparks would burst out, slowly hovering around him.

The sparks began to burn, small flames surrounding his body. Brom would open his eyes noticing the flames around him. The small flames would begin to shake, some lines of fire would burst into the ground beneath him. The flames grew bigger. A small flame would land on Brom's armor. The flames began to move around wildly, bursts of fire going out of Brom's sides.

He would quickly attempt to clear his mind of all he was thinking about. The flames would move outwards, being blown out by the wind before they reached even a foot away from him. A sizzle could be heard as smoke came out of Brom's armor and the ground surrounding him.

He would begin catching his breath. The smoke dissapearing. Looking back at Kariya he would ask "D-.. Did I do it?". His mind was hazey after his second attempt. Luckily Brom didn't pass out this time.

[13:24:03] Would smile when he sees the fglames surrouding him, he managed to get it faster than Kariya got with the lightning, maybe it was easier for him to imagine a flame consuming things, than thinking in a whole eletrical chain in the case of Kariya.

-Perfect.

He'd say taking his blade once again, swinging it in the air, cutting nothing as if he was testing the Rune Cleaver's slash, he wanted to test Brom as well, and not just Brom, he wanted to test him, his own speed, and that would need to train with someone experienced enough for the job.

-Well, you think you're ready for using it in a combat? I mean, you know how my methods are... stopping a huge blade with a wodden sword and stuff.

He said looking at his blade, seeing fire in the reflection of the metal. "I mean, I really don't know what could happen. I could still try though." Brom would keep his cloak and hood off for now, in fear of burning them.

Throwing his canteen of water to the side to make sure it didn't interfere with his ability to control the flames. "Well I guess I'm ready." Grabbing onto his sword tightly as he awaited Kariya's response.

[13:48:48] Dashing like a real white Thunder, Kariya was moving so fast, that his movements became like a blur, yet, he noticed that Brom wasn't doing bad, he was doing pretty good actually, Kariya was hitten sometimes by his sword, it was imprevise for the young adult that he could see him.

He was blocking his attackes from random directions, some that even't Kariya could predict where they would end up, in a certain moment, he tought that if he keept doing this way, he wouldn't hit him, ever.

So, taking some distance, the young would try to use his Vritra "Dashes" as a way to "control" his speed, using his speed to dash but creating a mental limit, and a plan, this way he could atleast try to predict where he would stand, and where he could find an open to attack.

That's how he managed to hit Brom's sword, throwing him, he was offguard for a moment, but Kariya was just learning how to control it, he wouldn't want to finish that fight so quickly, so he would keep trying to dash and teleport, trying to keep himself inpredictible.

[13:53:04] Kariya's movements were fast, sometimes it was almost like he was invisible. Though Brom took the moments where he reappeared as a time to strike. Trying to put in as many blows as he could. Suddenly Kariya's movements changed, Brom was getting hit from many places at once. Suddenly his flaming aura would grow and burst out forwards towards Kariya. Leaving small embers on the ground.

Brom took a strong blow and fell backwards onto his back. He'd pick himself up and get back into his stance. This time he would try dashing around and thrust his aura through his hands, forwards in front of himself. Perhaps this was how the burst of fire happened.

He would focus once again, his vision getting slightly blurry from the intense fire surrounding him.

[14:06:43] This times, the man was getting used to his new moves, so he had to keep changing his strategy, and this consntant strategy changes made him get more used to his own speed, dashes and teleport, the ability to turn his moves in to a blur were slowly getting upgraded.

Kariya's progress was growing everyday, and the his goal to surpass his father is getting even closer everytime he rises his sword to fight, to train, to protect himself, and to live in peace.

But it wasn't just him, he noticed that, Brom was also evolving everytime they train together, they just learned how to control even more his own powers, he noticed that slowly, Brom was mastering his flames, and that just made Kariya happy for him.

Smiling, the Drakanite would teleport behind him, he fount another opening, this time he wouldn't say anything, just bringing his blade near to his neck, he was still with his aura on, but it was clear it was over, he was faster, and he could just finish that fight if he wanted to.
-You did well, Brom, but it's over. Also, you're getting better everyday... why you can't stop impressing me? Geezs...

[14:12:41] After the second fight began, Brom would begin thrust his hands outwards rapidly. Fire bursted out, leaving trails of flames behind each burst. Unfortunately Brom was caught off guard and swiftly defeated. Brom would begin to get up, the stress on his body slowly decreasing. His skin tone returned to normal but the flames kept rotating around him. Brom would pick up his sword and look at Kariya.

He smiled a little. "Thank you Kariya. If you didn't train me the first time, I wouldn't be able to impress you." he said laughing a bit. Sheathing his flaming sword. Lucky for him it seemed that the flames disspated before the blade reached the sheath. Brom's control over the flaming aura was improving, though still not very safe.

"So, what is next?" he asked as he picked up his equipment and took as sip of his water.

[14:20:22] Sheathing his Rune Cleaver, the young adult would just turn his back to Brom and walk off, not very far from there, staring that forest, it would be so beauty if wasn't the smell of depravity and the Yokais that live in there, Kariya never cared about thoose things before, but in theese lesser stages, they are still so beastly.
-Next step?

Crossing his arms, hed'd glance upon his left shoulder back to Brom, he didn't know what was waiting for them, actually that was yet to be discovered, in time.
-Well, Brom, i didn't learn like you're doing, so i suggest you try to hold theese flames of you at this aura, in a good range that they won't burn you, it's way different from my Lightning aura, like, i cover my self with lightning, but i control them to not to hit me, but they're chaotic and completelly free, they will always surround me, so... if they "jump off" you should just "hold" them, that can be hard, but it might work, i think.

[14:24:38] Would look back at Kariya. "Hmmm.. alright then. I don't feel super hot anymore by the way." Brom would begin to stretch, some flames jetting down to the ground, burning some of the grass. "Are you going to be staying here or heading back to Cinderfall?" he asked, twisting his upper body around. His vision was very clear now, able to keep the flames up without having to imagine the yokai.

[14:31:28] He would just shrug, but he knew where to go, he just didn't know if Brom would follow him, that place was very dangerous for kariya just trusting him to be in there, he was pretty worried...

-Heh, i'm going back to Cinderfall, take a good bath... swim a little bit, rest at my tree, and think on how to develop more my skills.

He'd say with a soft smile, but he wasn't kidding, all that smell of depravity was just making him go a little bit disgusted, but not enough to show it to Brom, probably what he should do now is resting at his home and eating a little bit.

-You're coming with me? We can return here later, i could help you to understand how to "hold your flames" if you don't understand it alone.

[14:38:17] Would smile a bit. His flames beginning to disperse into the wind. He'd tighten his belt and look at the forest to his side. "I think I'll stay here for a little longer, I want to make sure I know how to control these flames before I go back into town. I dont' want to be burning anything after all." he said, re-igniting the flames around him. Brom would begin to thrust small balls of fire out of his palms. "If you don't see me back in Cinderfall, that means I'm still training."

He'd attempt to kick a ball of fire out, to no success. "See you soon Kariya." Brom smiled, waving good bye to Kariya before focusing back on his techniques. Brom would swipe his sword through the air rapidly, trails of flames following behind each slash.

A ring of fire would burst out from beneath Brom, he'd hold it a foot away from himself before it dispersed. He'd close his eyes and begin to concentrate deeply as he practiced his attacks. Almost forgetting Kariya was leaving. Rings of fire would begin to periodically burst outwards, the light being seen from a good distance away.

[14:42:33] Laughs a little bit, he knew that Brom was going to stay, that was obvious, he wanted to control all that, and Kariya wanted to see him with mastery over theese flames, that's everything he wants to, to train Brom until the point that they would be equals, and together, they would improve their skills.
-Well, or this means you died... yokais, you know.

After that joke, he would just sigh and glance to him for a second, he remember the bum he was at Cinder searching for job, and now he is an adventurer, maybe, someday he could work on the guard, even Kariya not being interested on that, he would be happy for him.

-Be carefull, okay?

He'd say without waiting for an answer, jumping off from the cliff, he would keep his way to leave the forest, he wouldn't need to sneak, if anyone of thoose weak Yokais try to stop him, he would just kill it.
