  1. [19:53] {NARRATION} Once again, the Gehennan leadership embarks on a voyage across the oceans surrounding the demonic continent of divine magic and constant war. Kuhn had been sent to seek out an outpost taken from the Atlantian front, one that went mysteriously silent recently.
  2.
  3. The ship ride was mostly uneventful, save some particularly stunning sunsets, and as the crew neared the coordinates of the underwater lair, the captain gave the call for the party to prepare whatever they needed in order to make the dive.
  4.
  5. The boat, as always, would be waiting for their return, whether they came back in one piece or as bodies.
  6. [20:00] The ship's crew and captain had done their part in all of this, and the rest was on them.
  7.
  8. The Siren stands on the very edge of the ship's frame with both arms folded over his chest and two piercing, yellow eyes gazing toward the depths of the sea.
  9.
  10. "This is where the boys and the men split right down the middle. If you're willing to follow me down, grab a potion from Sugarboy to avoid drownin'. Any threats we might encounter down there will be at an advantage."
  11.
  12. The Siren tightens his robes and prepares to dive in, waiting only to ensure that the process of giving 'gils' to those that needed them went smoothly.
  13.
  14. ".. Kane, keep close. Any questions?"
  15. (Kuhn)
  16. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.
  18. [20:04] Water.
  19.
  20. As far as the eyes could see, there's water. It's something Mital hated more than anything, it's the reason he stuck so close to the center of the ship the entire voyage. Water.
  21.
  22. Once it's all said and done, and they've finally made it to their destination, the Chieftain finally made his way over towards the edge of the ship. Staring down into the water, gulping.
  23.
  24. "..."
  25.
  26. Of course, once he's handed a potion from Sugarboy he'd take it; diving in alongside the rest of them. Was he going to enjoy it? Hell no.
  27. (Mital Vindict)
  28. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  29.
  30. [20:06] I wonder if dad went on trips like these? Mmmf. They say I'll die, kinda crazy. Things don't even look all that bad, but what do I know right?
  31.
  32. Upon stepping off the boat the teen showed no signs of angst or anything. He seemed very eager to do whatever needed to be done. He was still feeling as if he had much to prove, whether it was the truth or not. At first nothing seemed wrong, and for the time being Kane felt that everyone was overreacting.
  33.
  34. Kuhn had spoken, Kane responds. "No questions for now, just waiting on a order or something."
  35.
  36. He was ready for about anything. Nothing would stop Kane from aiding his own, Gehenna had to rise because it's all the boy has. He patiently waits for something to happen.
  37. (Kane Cooper)
  38. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. [20:07] The blonde had thoroughly enjoyed their little cruise, shooting the shit with the sailors and getting some deep sea fishing done at every chance. They'd eventually reach their destination and Sugarboy would begin sifting through his bag of medical equipment, healing potions, and would fish out the water breathing potions he had concocted just for this quest.
  41.
  42. He prepared six of them, each having an eight hour duration and wanting Epsilon and Mital to atleast have twenty four hours available to them in the worst case scenario. However, Tonantzin would be replaced with Kane and their timer ticked down to sixteen hours each.
  43.
  44. "Alright, drink these, hold your nose, and make sure your next breath is down there, otherwise it won't be pleasant." He'd say with a smile, his nerves were getting to him a little as Kuhn said this is where the boys were separated from the men. Perhaps he'd have tochange his name after this.
  45.
  46. Potions passed out and his bag secured, he'd go to dive off the ship beside his comrades, landing in the water with more of a belly flop.
  47. (Sugarboy)
  48. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  49.
  50. [20:08] Epsilon waits til the others have taken their potions, possibly some unnecessarily paranoid scheme to ensure that no, the potions were not poison designed to kill him. One can never be too careful.
  51.
  52. Taking the vial, he downs it quickly, shedding his cloak in favor of looser robes. His scythe floats near one hand, untouched except by his telekinesis. He seems relatively calm in comparison, the omnipresent smirk on his face.
  53.
  54. Stepping off the boat, he floats down to the water, hovering just above it, waiting for the final order to begin their descent.
  55. (Epsilon)
  56. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  57.
  58. [20:13] {NARRATION} They'd have to descend far into the depths now in order to reach the outpost. Through the darkness of the vast and seemingly infinite ocean around them, the only light came from their own sources, illuminating only a small radius around them. Everyone could feel the growing pressureas they sank further and further down, and as uncomfortable as it was, Sugarboy's potions did the trick.
  59.
  60. However long it was until their feet hit the constructed stone was vague, given the road here was not an easy one. But amidst the shadows and currents they could all tell that Kuhn's coordinates were spot on; the dive spot landed the entire group right before what appeared to be a stone sanctuary carved into the coral and deep sea formations.
  61.
  62. Elegant, Atlantian architecture and designs marked the outside where the lights were cast, and right ahead alone the cobbled walkway were two, large stone doors...
  63.
  64. That were crumbling and broken.
  65. [20:13] {NARRATION} (along*)
  66. [20:19] WOAH! OKAY! This feels like danger...
  67.
  68. His eyes widen as everyone takes their potions, Kane follows the instructions provided. He'd down the potion hesitantly, followed by entering the water behind the lot of the group.
  69.
  70. No words said still... Being where he is was unsettling. Many could see it in Kane's expression.
  71. (Kane Cooper)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [20:21] It had been a while since the shark had sank this far down into the sea. And while the mounting pressure may not affect him as thoroughly as it would the others, he can certainly feel it just as well. Though it isn't enough to keep that shark-toothed grin of his from spreading across his features once their feet reaches the Atlantian stone.
  75.
  76. "This is the place. But from here on out, we're going in blind." He glances over to Epsilon for a moment, contemplating the use of the term 'double-blind'. He decides not to. "I won't give you the typical speech of 'stay on your toes and remain alert'. Instead I'll tell you that whatever caused this outpost to go silent isn't something to take lightly."
  77.
  78. He pushes forward, his movements a mixture of walking and swimming from time to time. Eyes study just about any and everything placed before them, but once the broken doors are spotted, the Siren bites on his lower lip.
  79.
  80. "Mital. Epsilon. Let's see about pulling these doors open and reserving as much energy as we can. Sugar, Kane? Keep an eye out." Both of his hands raise up soon after as he aims to take hold of one of the doors with his telekinetic might and pull it backwards.
  81. (Kuhn)
  82. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  83.
  84. [20:23] Kuhn can swim. He can fly. Not so different.
  85.
  86. The blind man extends his hands, the typical sphere of runic sigils surrounding his form. They're distinctly unnatural, given the ability to burn even underwater, perhaps some facet of his reality-warping capabilities. Either way, the lack of light doesn't seem to be a concern for him. It's not like he needed it anyway.
  87.
  88. In fact, even where the light from the others moves towards him, he seems to remain something of a dark spot, a black void in the middle of the abyss.
  89.
  90. As they touch ground, he remains close behind Kuhn, the fiery sigils angrily flickering out at the surrounding water, causing small, muted thunderclaps as they dissipate.
  91.
  92. There's no response from Kuhn's words, if he can even hear in their current state, but a vibration in the water between the burning sigil sphere and Epsilon ripples out, likely the chaos magi using his telekinesis to dry and drag apart the heavy stones.
  93. (Epsilon)
  94. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  95.
  96. [20:23] Splash.
  97.
  98. Struggling a bit as he descended to the depths alongside the others, the Chieftain's face scrunched up something fierce. Being this close to water was one thing. But, actually going down this deep? It's something he never expected himself to be doing right now.
  99.
  100. Once he lands, the Chieftain's face puffs up as if he's afraid to even try and breath. It's natural, after all. Since, well, he's never breathed under water before. But after some time, he finally gasps out for some air. Only to find out that he's actually able to breath underwater.
  101.
  102. Sighing a sigh of relief, those golden eyes of his scanned the area and architecture. Simply taking in the sights of this underwater civilization. Giving a firm nod of his head towards Kuhn, the Chieftain's hand reached out, those eyes of his closing as he channeled his powers.
  103.
  104. "Got it."
  105.
  106. That's all that's said as he focuses on tryingto open the door alongside the others, using his prowess in the Arcane to help.
  107. (Mital Vindict)
  108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  109.
  110. [20:23] Mithril greaves met the stone walk way as Sugarboy sank to the bottom. Bubbles would leave his lips as he whistled, impressed by the atlantian architecture.
  111.
  112. Yo, I should build something like this for my next house.
  113.
  114. His mana would take hold of the water around him and he'd begin walking around with ease as if he were on land. In fact, he found it significantly easier to move in his armor as he could just rely on his magic to control his movements through the water rather than having to divide his focus on using muscle and magic alike.
  115.
  116. He'd offer a nod to the chief who lead the expedition. He'd shrink the bubble of water that gave him fine control over an area to expand his senses. Sight would do them little good in the dark depths, But Sugarboy would feel the fish that swam about, the seaweed drifting in the currents.
  117.
  118. If a fish farted, he would know.
  119. (Sugarboy)
  120. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  121.
  122. [20:28] {NARRATION} Three Chaos Magi make for efficient work.
  123.
  124. The demolition of the entrance is quickly moved aside, allowing for easy access into the temple itself. Though as welcoming as an Atlantian structure should be for someone like Kuhn, this place is anything but.
  125.
  126. The entire group could feel it; the sense that there was something very, very wrong here. Even for wielders of the Arcane, occultists, and cannibalistic savages, there was a vast and angry presence that seeped outward from the archway leading into the outpost.
  127. [20:35] A chill runs along the length of Kuhn's spine the second that menacing presence asserts itself.
  128.
  129. It is enough to cause the Siren to pause his advance momentarily, but he has no reason to outright stop. Not with the promise of wealth at the end of this journey- be it from the outpost or a payout from the Homeland itself.
  130.
  131. "Annadel is going to owe us big time."
  132.
  133. The pursuit of power through possessions was still the key motivator for the Shark that had his heart ripped out by a boy of Sugar. Rather than allowing himself to be oppressed, sparks of lightning begins to dance around him.
  134. (Kuhn)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [20:40] Something wasn't right about this place.
  138.
  139. As those doors were swung open, every fiber of his being told him that something wasn't right about this place. Something in the back of his mind telling him to just leave. That whatever was in there, it wasn't good.
  140.
  141. But, he wasn't one to just run.
  142.
  143. ".. Let's try to get this over with. I don't like it down here."
  144.
  145. It's hard to tell if he's referring to the creepy, angry feeling this place gave off. Or, if it's the fact that he hated water with every fiber of his being.
  146. (Mital Vindict)
  147. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  148.
  149. [20:40] Something is here.
  150.
  151. Good.
  152.
  153. Inside his 'bubble', the blind man smiles. What a waste it would have been to come down here and not find something great and terrible.
  154.
  155. As if in response to the presence, challenging it, Epsilon lets down a little of the barrier that holds back his own malevolent presence, warping the water around him. The rest should know, he's not here for money, he's not here for material reward.
  156.
  157. He's already itching for bloodshed. Still, for the moment, he hangs back, not willing to endanger himself (or the others, probably),
  158. Not just yet, anyways.
  159. (Epsilon)
  160. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  161.
  162. [20:41] Something is here.
  163.
  164. Good.
  165.
  166. Inside his 'bubble', the blind man smiles. What a waste it would have been to come down here and not find something great and terrible.
  167.
  168. As if in response to the presence, challenging it, Epsilon lets down a little of the barrier that holds back his own malevolent presence, warping the water around him. The rest should know, he's not here for money, he's not here for material reward.
  169.
  170. He's already itching for bloodshed. Still, for the moment, he hangs back, not willing to endanger himself (or the others, probably), just to satiate his bloodlust.
  171.
  172. Not just yet, anyways.
  173. (Epsilon)
  174. (Epsilon)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [20:42] He tenses up a bit. His first impressions were very off, this was looking to be insanely dangerous. Now under water his glance just shifts between the many adults as they do what they do. Kane's confident exterior really bit him this time around.
  178.
  179. He might not make it out of here in one piece.
  180.
  181. Still he asked for this, and so he'd do what he would uncaring of the consequences. Even if they are death.
  182.
  183. "Wild..." He would mutter out as everyone came to a stop.
  184. (Kane Cooper)
  185. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  186.
  187. [20:44] Sugarboy's eyes would go wide as the malignant presence washed over him. He often wondered what sort of adventures the chieftains went on, he was prepared for danger after he had to care for them from their last expedition, but he was not ready for this.
  188.
  189. He'd try to drown out the bad vibes with thought of returning to his wife in kids, but he had to stay here in the now, with his friends who needed him the most.
  190.
  191. Epsilon's angry and challenging presence would be matched with one of positivity from the Exorcist, one that would bolster his comrades and try to repel the entity's influence.
  192.
  193. He had his work cut out for him, that was for sure.
  194. (Sugarboy)
  195. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  196.
  197. [20:52] {NARRATION} Into the entrance chamber they go, and what was once likely a beautiful room has been very obviously vandalized and ruined by someone, or something, that hated this place. Art depicting the histories of the undersea denizens that must have once been ornate frescoes has been slashed and degraded by the new visitors to this place.
  198.
  199. And all throughout the inner chamber, the party is confronted with bodies, dozens of them, floating in pieces and bloodied water that has persisted despite the flowing currents. It's almost as if the blood has been kept here to ensure there were witnesses to see the carnage.
  200.
  201. Shadows descend to cover the entryway, engulfing the party once more in pitch darkness, and a grating voice echoes through the water with a rippling effect.
  202.
  203. "Ehee... Gaial said they'd come, di'nt she? Time to tear up s'more interlopers."
  204.
  205. Behind them a dozen of sirenians garbed in occultic robes poison the water at their sides and bend it with darkened waves of air that they spawn within their palms.
  206. [21:02] Unfinished meals. Preserved acts of bloodshed. Waters that were unsafe to breathe in through your gils.
  207.
  208. They had come to the right place for certain. But was that a good thing?
  209.
  210. In protest to the encroaching darkness and the feeling of outright doom lurking in the waters with them, stray bolts of lightning began to jut out from time to time. Illuminating what they could, and shocking what they couldn't.
  211.
  212. "Keh.. Gaial..? Don't hold a damn thing back, boys."
  213. (Kuhn)
  214. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  215.
  216. [21:04] Oh. There they are.
  217.
  218. How polite, to simply wander forwards, ready to be annihilated. The cave shakes, occult power and telekinetic strength gathered together. The sigils lash out, ready to snag anything fool enough to enter their range.
  219.
  220. The scythe floats out, free from the sigil itself, yet still wielded by the blind pyromancer, who might otherwise seem wholly and literally out of his element. Not so.
  221.
  222. Anything burns, given proper firepower.
  223. (Epsilon)
  224. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  225.
  226. [21:05] Great..
  227.
  228. Something was definitely off about these guys, from the way they dressed, to the way they acted. But, for what reason was left to a mystery to the Chieftain. It didn't really matter, since he was here for one reason. And one reason alone.
  229.
  230. Clearing them out.
  231.
  232. Grasping onto his axe at his back, those golden eyes of his shift over towards Kuhn. Seeing that it's okay to use lightning magics within the waters. Guess he could try that thing out.. But, maybe he should wait a bit..
  233.
  234. A ripple in the waters were sent out as a shroud of energy wrapped itself around the Chieftain's frames, his eyes narrowing in on the cultists from afar as he readied himself for the coming fight.
  235. (Mital Vindict)
  236. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  237.
  238. [21:05] And so it begins.
  239.
  240. Kane left the flames behind, instead taking a more defensive form. Earth cladding his exposed skin, as he attempts to form a make-shift armor. This was a means to cover for his weak body. "That's what I'm here for chief, don't plan on disappointin' either!"
  241.
  242. Glitters from the cosmos fall from his person as his eyes lock on to the beast.
  243.
  244. It was time to show out. Whatever this thing was it needed to be brought down and Kane was going to play a role no matter what. He'd prepare his first attack by simply storing mana from his star, unsure of what Gaial had under their sleeve.
  245. (Kane Cooper)
  246. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  247.
  248. [21:07] Bits of flesh and blood floating around came into the blonde's sense, moving bodies that feasted and hacked away at what remained of those in the outpost. Sugarboy would give the group the heads up as the cultists came into view.
  249.
  250. "We got enemies up ahead." He'd take his fighting stance and raise his palms towards their enemies.
  251.
  252. He didn't revel in violence like the others who accompanied him, but he appreciated the circumstances he found himself in. A steam magi at the bottom of the ocean, surrounded by numerous enemies ready to be boiled.
  253.
  254. It would almost bring a smirk to his face if he didn't have to focus on keeping his friends alive.
  255. (Sugarboy)
  256. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  257.
  258. [21:20] {NARRATION} The water whipped up in a torrent around Kuhn and his allies as both the blood and ichor that floated there quickly became a concoction used against them. With occultic winds and purplish water the cultists darted through the water, slashing and aiming to turn the explorers into more chum to add to their collection.
  259.
  260. But it became clear after some fighting that these adventurers proved stronger than the Atlantian guards who were stationed here, and while one mad sirenian got ahold of Kane and was ready to gut him with a spear, Sugarboy was able to blast him back and save the young boy.
  261.
  262. Whether they were left as more corpses or retreated into the deeper recesses of the outpost to find their 'Gaial', the cultists soon were all gone.
  263.
  264. For now, at least.
  265. [21:21] Kuhn says, ".. Keh. We can't let those shits get too far. Who knows how many more of them there are."
  266. [21:27] He requested that the others bring their best to the battle-- and they did. Sugarboy and Kane especially.
  267.
  268. What started off as a deep sea cluster battle in murky water ended in the bloodshed of the cultists and a wide grin on the shark's face as he reaches down to grab one of the fallen by their collar and lift them up.
  269.
  270. ".. So it ain't just rumors, then. These bastards aren't just here to play dress up. See these cloaks..?"
  271.
  272. The body is thrown in Mital's direction, allowing it to drift through the water and stir up whatever pools of blood had been left.
  273.
  274. "They are big-timers down here. A Cult, if it wasn't obvious. But as far as I know, they wouldn't make a bold move like this just for fun. Somethin' is up. Ready to get to the bottom of it?" What was once aggression had melted down into somethingthat was stimulated by curiosity, as if the origins of the group were enough to make him care about more than the loot.
  275. (Kuhn)
  276. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  277.
  278. [21:31] Good, they all made it out.
  279.
  280. Grasping onto the fallen cultist's collar as they're tossed, and drifted over, those eyes of his narrowed in. Only to mutter something under his breath about them not being strong enough.
  281.
  282. Strange.
  283.
  284. Slowly shaking his head, he scanned the corpse for a bit before allowing it to drift away into the sea for good.
  285.
  286. "Cult? Strange ways you've got down here, what do you know of them?" Shifting his head ever so slightly to the side, his weapon found it's way onto his back once more. Ready to continue on.
  287. (Mital Vindict)
  288. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  289.
  290. [21:34] The first encounter and already Kane was pushed to the brink.
  291.
  292. Occult in the air, blood from many as the group battles with the cultist. Just when Kane thinks things are over he finds himself in a sticky situation. A spear heading straight for him, threating to stab him right in the gut. He froze.
  293.
  294. Damn, I never thought I'd go like this. I can move too, that's the worst part. But for whatever reason I just can't will myself to do it. I-I don't want to die, not like this. But fuck man... I can't move and I don't know why. He was in a jam, and he wanted to move, but fear had taken him.
  295.
  296. Thankfully Sugarboy had his back.
  297.
  298. Kane was saved, and from this point on it was go mode. No more freezing. His gaze flashes to Sugarboy, "Aye! Nice save, you won't have to do that again. I swear-- on uh... On the spirits!"
  299. (Kane Cooper)
  300. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  301.
  302. [21:35] It's a grim orchestra that the blind man conducts. The sirens might think themselves safe from fire, here in the deep, in their natural environment.
  303.
  304. They are mistaken.
  305.
  306. Epsilon's sweeping arm movements direct the tendrils of rune-formed fire, burning and cleaving through the sirenian ranks. The flames don't necessarily burn on their own, but the sheer occult power more than makes up for it.
  307.
  308. Turning back to the others, he waves away the blood clouds with casual telekinesis as he drifts forwards.
  309.
  310. "You might have informed us that you had friends down here, Kuhn." His voice reverberates strangely, again likely amplified by his powers. "Ah, well. At least they are greeting us with proper hospitality. Come- shall we?"
  311. (Epsilon)
  312. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  313.
  314. [21:35] More carnage, more blood, it was almost as suffocating as it was nauseating, even by the doctor's high standards. Water would whip and whirl gently around the party as he brought in a fresh current to keep the blood and ichor at bay.
  315.
  316. He'd saunter over to Kane and give him a pat on his shoulder, "Don't worry kid, I got your back." He'd offer a supportive smile, but never could he shirk that eerie presence that seeped through these halls.
  317.
  318. He'd march over to Kuhn, inspecting the cloaks, looking for insignias. Sugarboy wasn't very knowledgeable on religions, cultures, so all of this would drift over his head. Perhaps his ignorance would serve him well advancing forward to these terrors of the deep.
  319.
  320. "Definitely smells fishy." He'd say with a smirk, attempting to maintain atleast some humor in the face of danger. "I'm ready Chief."
  321. (Sugarboy)
  322. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  323.
  324. [21:36] Kuhn exclaims, "Friends? Kehahah!"
  325. [21:42] Kuhn starts to move forward once it is confirmed that all of their party members are in one piece. Mital's questions could be answered on the way.
  326.
  327. "I'm Agarthan-born, and these losers only dwell below. So my knowledge on em' is going to be spotty. But uh.."
  328.
  329. A bolt of lightning is hurled down the hallway as they proceed, aiming to illuminate their path.
  330.
  331. "There are some entities livin' down in the depths that just shouldn't exist. Things rumored to be powerful enough to change the world if they so much as wake up. Somethin', somethin'.. if you see a Cultist or group of them, you're supposed to kill em' dead. I'd reckon that we'd get a nice sum for every head of theirs we ship back to the homeland. Let's cash out."
  332.
  333. Once again, Kuhn is sidetracked by the pursuit of loot. A shame.
  334. (Kuhn)
  335. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  336.
  337. [21:42] {NARRATION} The chamber had another entrance at the far side, another archway that lead downward through which several of the occultists had retreated into. Now that things had settled down for a spell, the group was able to have a look around. Near that entrance to the spiraling, downard stairwell, a sirenian skeleton in bronze armor clutched a book tightly in his gnarled, knuckled bones.
  338.
  339. Kuhn's lightning bolt seems drawn to it.
  340.
  341. For some reason...
  342.
  343.
  344. [21:44] Kuhn says, ".. Keh."
  345. [21:48] Kuhn approaches the armored skeleton without much concern, eyes scanning over the not-so-shiny armor for any value. Once he realizes that it is anything but valuable, his eyes fall upon the book held in the entity's hands and his tongue passively runs along the length of his lips.
  346.
  347. "I plan on takin' any relics we find back to Gehenna as well. If the homeland wants em', they can pay for em'.."
  348.
  349. The Siren reaches out with both of his hands, aiming to pluck the item from the grasp of the dead.
  350.
  351. For some reason...
  352. (Kuhn)
  353. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  354.
  355. [21:49] "Good, we can use some cash."
  356.
  357. Giving a shrug of his shoulders, the Chieftain's gaze drifts on over towards the skeleton holding a book.
  358.
  359. "Or, we can give them to some of the up and comers, who knows."
  360. (Mital Vindict)
  361. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  362.
  363. [21:51] {NARRATION} As Kuhn picks up the book, several pages fall out. It seems like the tome has been severely degraded by the undersea environment as well as its unprotected state. In fact, the thing should likely be completely disintegrated and unreadable.
  364.
  365. But the pages that fall across the floor seemed to be controlled by the current. The letters upon them are smeared blood and messy handwriting. They read a warning, or simple instructions:
  366.
  367. "REVERSE. BACK--RD
  368.
  369. THE UNS----N
  370.
  371. NAME."
  372. [21:52] Epsilon asks, "...Are those words?"
  373. [21:52] {NARRATION} The rest of the book falls apart as another, warmer current flows by and down the stairs.
  374. [21:53] Epsilon asks, "On the page?"
  375. [21:53] Kuhn says, "Seems that way."
  376. [21:53] Epsilon asks, "...What does it say?"
  377. [21:53] Epsilon says, "I'm blind."
  378. [21:53] Kuhn says, "Reverse."
  379. [21:53] Mital Vindict says, "Strange stuff."
  380. [21:53] Kane Cooper says, "Wild..."
  381. [21:54] Kuhn asks, "Back.. The Unseen. Name?"
  382. [21:54] Kuhn asks, "How the fuck am I supposed to sell these pages if they are in such shit condition?"
  383. [21:54] Epsilon asks, "Unseen?"
  384. [21:54] Epsilon says, "Reverse back."
  385. [21:54] Kuhn collects the pages if at all possible, stashing them away for later. Maybe they could make more sense of them as they progress.
  386. (Kuhn)
  387. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  388.
  389. [21:54] Sugarboy says, "I don't think waterlogged books sell very well on the second hand market anyway, haha"
  390. [22:03] {NARRATION} Whatever warm presence had just swam by, it was quickly dwarfed by the sudden and sheer drop in temperature as they descended. Echoed sounds and rippled once more through the oceanic darkness and the trip downard revealed more blood and body parts floating amidst the wreckage of the outpost.
  391.
  392. "--ri.... --ri..."
  393.
  394. Came a distant call.
  395.
  396. Finally the group arrived in what was likely the central chamber of the fort, a place where the Atlantian leaders had once planned great things for their forward expeditions from. The room was a mess, and more occultists floated in the air, still, all surrounding a strange looking woman wielding an azure trident wreathed in seaweed.
  397.
  398. Her chanting ceased and dark, black eyes locked on Kuhn before she revealed rows of jagged teeth in an entertained grin.
  399.
  400. "Welcome, Prince." she sang. With an exaggerated bow she brought her hands together while twinkles of ice formed in the water around her. "I am the Priestess Gaial. I was expected some guests but I didn't know I'd be honored with someone such as yourself..." She scanned the rest of the Gehennans who had come before staring back at Kuhn.
  401.
  402. Four glowing, purple orbs were bobbing around the central space, each one with an Atlantian rune upon them.
  403. [22:05] {NARRATION} (expecting*....)
  404. [22:12] The temperature and macabre display only serves to frustrate the self-proclaimed prince even further as they descend into more darkness and madness. The broken phrases from the book repeated in his head on a loop, and he could not help but murmur them out loud from time to time to derail his thought process from the drop in temperature.
  405.
  406. "Name. The Unseen. Back. Reverse."
  407.
  408. It isn't until the Priestess calls out to him that the Siren gives the assortment of Occultists the time of day.
  409.
  410. "Gaial? So these followers belong to you..? Thanks for the.. warm welcome, but we didn't come to join your party. The homeland wants you all dead and they are willin' to pay a pretty coin for it. So unless you can give me a reason not t'.."
  411.
  412. His voice trails off as he glances to the purple orbs, squinting at them from afar. He knew a rune when he saw one.
  413.
  414. ".. What the hell are you guys doin' here, anyway?"
  415. (Kuhn)
  416. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  417.
  418. [22:17] The cultists seemed primed to fight, but Gaial holds her hand out to signal for them to hold off for the moment. Her body and physical aspects are downright serpentine, and she doesn't look like any sort of sirenian Kuhn has ever met. A clawed hand is brought to her hip while she continued grinning.
  419.
  420. "Oh come on now, Princey, I can't spoil everything can I?" She let out a sing-song laugh and floated backward in a relaxed state, as if she was now lounging on something.
  421.
  422. "Let's just say your stuck in here with me now. You have to comply and obey. Try to kill me and-- well, we all die!
  423.
  424. Try to stop me and... well, same thing, eheh.
  425.
  426. So it's up to you I s'pose Mr. Prince. Are we going to be friends? Or enemies?"
  427. (Gaial)
  428. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  429.
  430. [22:26] The blind man hovers near Kuhn's shoulder, his voice low.
  431.
  432. "How rude for us to intrude without introductions. Come, now, let us not be unreasonable. My name is Epsilon."
  433.
  434. He grins to the cultist priest, waving a hand. "Can you blame us for our curiousity? One might benefit from knowing what our potential friends are up to."
  435. (Epsilon)
  436. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  437.
  438. [22:26] Descending down the stairs, the water began to chill them to the bone. Luckily for the steam magi, he'd keep it from reaching any hypothermic levels. They'd step into the room and would be greeted by the cultists and Gaial herself.
  439.
  440. The blonde would let Kuhn do the talking as he kept himself focused on the order given to him earlier, keep and eye out. Ocean blue's would scan the surrounding area, caught by the purple spheres that floated about. The Doctor couldn't make heads or tails of them, at first dismissing them to the architecture.
  441.
  442. However, Kuhn's glance to them would not go unnoticed as he questioned them about their purpose. The water magi would focus on them again, keeping an ear turned to the serpentine sirenian. Comply and obey, otherwise death. Sugarboy did not like this, not one bit.
  443.
  444. He had no point of reference to go off of, how to conduct himself or what move to make. He'd look back to Kuhn, anxious for how he would answer and what would soon follow.
  445. (Sugarboy)
  446. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  447.
  448. [22:27] Kane gripped his scythe tight.
  449.
  450. He wasn't sure of what his superiors thought, but if they were going to fight he was going to fight. He didn't have much to ask the person before them. He wasn't the biggest fan of sirenians.
  451.
  452. "Mmm."
  453.
  454. His gaze would lower, as he awaited some sort of orders.
  455. (Kane Cooper)
  456. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  457.
  458. [22:28] Catching onto what Epsilon's throwing out, the Chieftain gave a firm nod of his head as he stepped closer.
  459.
  460. "Mital Vindict."
  461.
  462. Curling his lips up into a smirk, those arms of his folded across his chest.
  463.
  464. "Yeah, we're curious is all."
  465. (Mital Vindict)
  466. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  467.
  468. [22:28] Sugarboy says, "Oh? We're introducing ourselves? Alright then, name's Sugarboy"
  469. [22:29] Kane Cooper says, "Uh, Kane."
  470. [22:32] Sugarboy whispers: When this goes tits up, focus the cultists and avoid her.. I'll keep us going, but she's probably go some nasty magic that'll sap your life
  471. [22:33] Kuhn studies the mutated Siren's form, unable to place her specific 'type' or even assume where she would fit in within the social ranks of the Atlantian Empire. Sorting out the runes would be the next best thing.
  472.
  473. It takes him a decent length of time for him to figure the runes out-- but he does at some point in time while Epsilon responds to the Priestess' words.
  474.
  475. The letter M.
  476. The letter R.
  477. The letter O.
  478. The letter I.
  479.
  480. Separately, they meant nothing, surely. But together, they brought power, like any set of runes. But the scenario here in the outpost was anything but normal. As the others finish introducing himself, he points a thumb in Epsilon's direction and widens his grin.
  481.
  482. "Aye. The only friends we have are the ones that have somethin' to offer. And just tellin' us that we won't die if we work with you isn't good enough. But.." His yellow eyes study her form once again as if she is a piece of meat, stopping to focus on the staff wrapped in seaweed on her back. ".. Somethin' as shiny as that trident of yours would be a damn good start to our budding friendship. Give it to me, and I promise, we'll hear you out."
  483.
  484. He was having flashback to the tribal island of Gehennans whose Elder held an arcanium staff.
  485.
  486. "Besides. Do we look like the kind of people that fear death one way or another?"
  487. (Kuhn)
  488. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  489.
  490. [22:39] The woman let out a harsh laugh and shook her head. A simple nod had been given to each of the others as they introduced themselves, but her focus and interest were very obviously upon the other aquatic humanoid who had ventured to meet her.
  491.
  492. "No- no you misunderstand. It's not exactly a threat so much as... a promise? A fact? I knew you'd be coming, or that someone would arrive to avenge all those silly soldiers we cut through. And I couldn't really allow that, so I set this up!" a quick gesture is given to the nodes.
  493.
  494. "Soon my pets will be here, I've called them from across the oceans to arrive and fight for me. We will decimate this outpost, as well as the next one, and the next, until Atlantis' grip around Agartha has been reduced to nothing. And then?
  495.
  496. We will march upon the continent itself. Maybe we'll start with your measly cities? If you're nice, your tribes can be our slaves. It's the best offer you're going to get from the Deep One." She said with another grin.
  497.
  498. "So yeah. Kneel. Submit, whatever you want to call it I don't really care. Or I can bring this whole place down atop your heads!"
  499. (Gaial)
  500. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  501.
  502. [22:41] Epsilon surpresses a laugh. "Oh dear. She does not appear to have heard."
  503. (Epsilon)
  504. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  505.
  506. [22:41] Epsilon says, "We are Gehennan. We do not submit."
  507. [22:41] Epsilon says, "We certainly do not kneel."
  508. [22:41] Gaial says, "Oh... well that's a shame."
  509. [22:49] "I don't kneel, less I'm sleepin' in a cut." His scythe was enveloped in a twister of powerful flames, no idea how the boy managed underwater-- but he did it. His gaze stuck on the woman, he planned on attacking but he held himself back. He didn't want to be the first to flipped over and beat.
  510.
  511. "Chief, uhh we clear to do anything?"
  512.
  513. He was annoyed, this siren was so proud despite being in front of chaos magi and two somewhat capable fighters. A fire lit, a figurative one. Kane was eager to see the downfall of this one. The look on their face when the entire world falls apart before their eyes. It was satisfying.
  514.
  515. Ah, but he didn't want to be the first to experience extreme pain. So for now he'd stand there waiting. Eager, his body was shivering.
  516.
  517.
  518.
  519. (Kane Cooper)
  520. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  521.
  522. [22:54] "Keh."
  523.
  524. His first verbal response sounds more like a sneeze than anything.
  525.
  526. It was a match between two groups that were not willing to kneel or compromise. She claimed to have deep sea abominations on the way, which meant that they were now on a time limit. But unfortunately for the Cult of the Deep One..
  527.
  528. .. Gehennan were at their strongest under pressure.
  529.
  530. The Siren suddenly throws his head back in a cackling laughter, causing the fur around his cloak to jiggle and bounce underwater. "Kehahah!" His hand takes the shape of a gun suddenly, and the barrel is aimed directly at one of the glowing, purple runes. The trigger is pulled just as quickly, aiming to crash into and outright destroy (if at all possible) the one labeled 'I'.
  531.
  532. "Then so be it. If this bitch is to come crashin' down on us, we'll make sure to do you the honor of killing you beforehand. If that God of yours is real, you better call him now to give you strength."
  533.
  534. A nod is given to Kane soon after.
  535. (Kuhn)
  536. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  537.
  538. [23:01] One hell of a poker face would be worn on the Blonde's face as the sirenian chief said they didn't fear death. However, it would soon be replaced with a that spreads across Sugarboy's face as Epsilon spoke what was on his mind. A glance cast to Kuhn and Kane, So we're doing this?
  539.
  540. Arms would raise as palms flicked up and trained on their leader before one arm quickly drew under the other, mirroring Kuhn's finger gun as he'd blast another orb out (if possible) opposite of the one he shot out.
  541.
  542. He'd crack his neck, he too picked up on the time constraint, but his tone wouldn't portray worry. "Yeah let's get this show on the road, I got a wifey waiting on me to bring her another kiddie."
  543. (Sugarboy)
  544. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  545.
  546. [23:04] That's all he needed.
  547.
  548. His hand would go out, palm opening. An intense heat would build up around Gaial and their cultists. Hopefully the rest of his friends would follow up, as much as Kane wished he could lead the front on an offensive level. He didn't have the body for it, he wasn't the strongest person in the world.
  549.
  550. "If you don't explode you might be good dinner, heh!"
  551. (Kane Cooper)
  552. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  553.
  554. [23:04] Submit.
  555.
  556. There's some things you just don't say to Gehennans. You can get away with a lot of things in regards to them, threatening to bring down this temple. Threatening to bring in a ton of sea beasts to kill them.. They'll just shrug, and deal with them as they came. But asking them to submit? Saying you'll turn them into slaves?
  557.
  558. Well, that's just asking for trouble.
  559.
  560. Grabbing for the mangled weapon at his back, the Chieftain slammed it into the ground. If Kuhn was going to be using lighting while underwater, then why shouldn't he be able to? Perhaps it was time to return to his roots. Maybe that's where he went wrong, trying too hard to do something that just didn't feel right.
  561.
  562. Gathering up as much lightning as he can to wrap itself around his frame to empower himself, more and more. Continually increasing it as he started to enter into his zone. Going beyond what normal Magi ever dared try todo with lightning magic, hoping for good results.
  563.
  564. "I don't have anyone waiting, I just wanna get this shit over with."
  565. (Mital Vindict)
  566. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  567.
  568. [23:07] Fine, then. Diplomacy has failed.
  569.
  570. Not like Epsilon was hoping for a peaceful ending.
  571.
  572. The occult aura he radiates intensifies again, as if baiting the priestess (or his allies, even), to be quicker to anger, quicker to violence. The runic sigils spiral out, flaring darkly.
  573.
  574. He lets a little bit of it affect himself. Barely audible at first, his quiet chuckling grows into a mad, manic laugh, a hyena's cry that dims and grows rhythmically like the fires he surrounds himself with.
  575.
  576. There's strength to be found in surrender, in madness. Barely on the sane edge of that line on the best of days, he's far and crossed it, now.
  577. (Epsilon)
  578. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  579.
  580. [23:07] Kane Cooper whispers: Y'know... Those tendrils sorta scary...
  581. [23:10] Sugarboy whispers: Umbretarn magic.. Had a teacher that used it.. Said the strength of water magic was to take life to bolster one's self
  582. [23:10] Sugarboy whispers: Hence my earlier warning
  583. [23:16] "So be it--"
  584.
  585. Gaial's smug demeanor turned to a violent hiss as Kuhn's magic destroyed the node he aimed for, and almost instantly the cultists flew past her to meet the party in combat.
  586.
  587. Ice webbed outward from her form while entropic force exploded toward the other Chaos Magi who were all too familiar with it. The trident in the Priestess' hand glowed as she enveloped herself in blood and purple water pulled from the murders around her and illusions shimmered around her body once she readied herself for the fight.
  588. (Gaial)
  589. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  590.
  591. [23:33] {NARRATION} (The narrate after you RP is very influenced by whatever you do during the fight/immediately after. Show your moves.)
  592. [23:35] The underwater cavern devolves into a maelstrom. Anarchy, complete madness.
  593.
  594. Occult power clashes against occult power, lightning arcing out and decimating stone, an exorcist desperately trying to keep his younger companion afloat, so to speak.
  595.
  596. Mad laughter permeates all of it, the occultist directing his flames into the center to constrict, to bind, to crush. To reap agony, rather than to simply destroy.
  597.
  598. The cult priestess is his focus, fire lashing out every time there's an opening. A few too many times, her own occult water surges through his barrier, stealing hits on the pyromancer. The injuries don't deter him.
  599.
  600. No, they just push him further. The cackling becomes incessant, a mad revelry. This is his purpose. This is where he belongs. This is how he belongs. He's thrown back with a wave of telekinesis. Turning the force around, he reverts it on her, throwing her back into the open, where she's exposed.
  601.
  602. Finally, finally, by their combined efforts she's brought down. Defenseless, allies slain, there's a moment where it seems he might pause, allow her one final plea, perhaps. The flaming form that is the pyromancer extends his hand, like he's offering her a help up.
  603.
  604. The searing stream of fire through her chest puts an end to that idea.
  605.
  606. The laughter abates. Some semblance of humanity returns to Epsilon, though he doesn't look particularly regretful over what he's done.
  607.
  608. Even if he's doomed them all.
  609. (Epsilon)
  610. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  611.
  612. [23:35] It was everything he wished for in a battle, chaotic, fun, close, but he fell. Ugh. From start to finish Kane knew that he was being carried, and it wasn't the best feeling in the world. As Gaial sent waves of crushing chaos, the chieftains fired back. Kane was merely a spectator as everyone displayed such amazing talent.
  613.
  614. Sugarboy's regenerative waters, Epsilon's Intense flames, Khun's mastery of storm magic, and Mital's fierce close ranged combat skills. Kane was left in the dust, as just a child that tried.
  615.
  616. Guh… I talked so big, and yet I'm the only one bein' tossed around. What's worst is they'd probably do better without me. I hate this. I want to provide, I want to be of use in some way.
  617.
  618. He desired to be better, to aid his allies.
  619.
  620. His star would provide as always, pushing him towards his desires. His body would be showered in glitters from the cosmos as he was enhanced further. His sights set on Gaial. Cladding his arm in a powerful mineral shell he'd use the granted power to try to damage the priestess.
  621.
  622. His speed was on new levels as he came barreling in faster than ever before.
  623.
  624. --Nothing goes as planned.
  625.
  626. Kane found himself smacking right into a wave of sheer chaos, and for a bit he'd fight against it. The boy's only 15. He was flung to the side, and luckily he'd only sustained a sprained wrist. Kane was under some sort of blessing this trip. He's dodged extreme pain or injury twice now.
  627.
  628. "... Ouch."
  629. (Kane Cooper)
  630. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  631.
  632. [23:42] Guess it wasn't enough.
  633.
  634. It's never enough, though, when it comes down to it. With blue sparks arching off his form, coursing through his body as he tried to do his best to avoid all the ice that was being thrown at them. Bounding from wall to wall, trying to push himself past his own limits as the lightning shocked his system.. It wasn't enough.
  635.
  636. Stumbling as the pain got a bit too much, the Chieftain's assaulted by a wave of frozen water being slashed across his face that quickly froze up. Causing the side of his face to turn a bit pale as it did. Oh, and it hurt. It hurt a lot.
  637.
  638. Not only because, well, he was getting his face frozen. But, because what he had been working on ended up not working. Again. It's a shame, really.
  639.
  640. Grasping at the side of his face, the Chieftain stumbled towards the group as the fight came to it's conclusion. Seeing what happened next..
  641. (Mital Vindict)
  642. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  643.
  644. [23:47] The runes were important to the cultists.
  645.
  646. Staying alive to collect that which they considered to be valuable was important to Kuhn. While the Gehennan warriors truly fought with reckless abandon and as if their lives depended on it, the Chieftain of the Atl and Prince of Sirens set his focus onto something specific.
  647.
  648. .. Destroying the rest of the runes.
  649.
  650. Inbetween dodging and weaving in an exchange of blows that would rock the very foundation of the outpost's lower levels, Kuhn took the time to burst through the runes, one at a time. He still had no idea what they were for.. but he could only hope that they were the key components to the dead man's switch that the Priestess claimed to have waiting for them.
  651.
  652. Epsilon's display in particular causes his grin to widen even more-- but as the purple flames of the mildly insane occultist pierce through her, Kuhn cannot help himself any longer. That shiny object that he had been studying since theyfirst arrived is now closer than ever!
  653.
  654. If he was going to die at the mercy of a crumbling building, then he would die with something valuable in his greedy little hands.
  655.
  656. "Name the unseen. Dr- back. Reverse. Still makes no fuckin' sense." The phrase is muttered as the last of the runes are dealt with, hopefully long before Epsilon deals the final blow.
  657. (Kuhn)
  658. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  659.
  660. [23:50] It was a mess, she was significantly more resilient than the head cultist they fought before, her magic was stronger as expected of the leader. Sugarboy moved swiftly, pushing himself through the water and barraging her with blood and boiling bubble, throwing typhoon and a miasma of blood at her.
  661.
  662. The blonde watched as Gehenna's strongest went down, and he was there, still standing ready to fight. He continued to blast her, focusing on Khun to keep him going as he fuel the essence of the lifestream himself into the Chieftain.
  663.
  664. He would eventually draw her attention to himself as she directed her full wraith at the Doctor, he'd luckily throw up a shield of holywater just in time before vaporizing into a cloud, retreating to the fringes of battle to continue his assault and recover.
  665.
  666. The fight took a lot out of him, but he amazingly held his ground as Epsilon would win the finishing blow. Good, we can question her.. She said we needed her, andnow we can get some answers. Turning to his fallen comrades to look after them, he wouldn't have to look to know what happened next. A hole seared into the sirenian's chest, and Sugarboy would simply huff.
  667.
  668. "Mital, Kane, get here quick. I don't feel this is over yet." He'd pass them two Healing Elixirs. It was hard to mock his battle prowress at this point, perhaps you could point out his cowardice, but one thing was damn sure: Sugarboy came prepared.
  669. (Sugarboy)
  670. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  671.
  672. [23:50] {Item} You drop Elixir Of Healing.
  673. [23:50] {Item} You drop Elixir Of Healing.
  674. [23:53] After drinking the potion a sudden rush flows through his body as minor, and major injuries heal in an instant. Any blood, or cracked bones would heal, as well as that sprained wrist.
  675.
  676. "Whew, thanks Sugarman."
  677. (Kane Cooper)
  678. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  679.
  680. [23:54] Sugarboy says, "S'what I do"
  681. [23:55] {NARRATION} The fight ended.
  682.
  683. The entire time, Gaial had been laughing back. She had focused Kuhn in the beginning, aiming to make the Prince bend the knee, but soon she found something resonating with the pyromancer way out his element.
  684.
  685. One blast of the arcane forward, another reflecting, rebounding off of it to send her back-
  686.
  687. It was only a matter of time until he had bested her. She didn't need to say anything, Gaial knew what was coming. She looked up at his outstretched hand with maddened, excited eyes. There was no fear in those black pupils, no regret or disappointment in herself.
  688.
  689. The three other nodes were still alight, and so she welcomed the fire with open arms. The rest of her cult had fallen, and now so to, did she.
  690.
  691. Not a second later the nodes exploded on their own, sending out a sonic wave that shook the stone walls and water within. It grew in pitch as it continued outward from the epicenter, and for a minute, all was still and quiet.
  692.
  693. Until the ceiling shuddered once. Twice.
  694.
  695. Cracks spread across the walls, webbing outward until--
  696.
  697. BOOM.
  698. [00:10] {NARRATION} The outpost caved in.
  699.
  700. Something was tearing it apart. Treasure was launched into the water, fired within arms reach of the party while the pressure rose and fell with the ceiling crumbling down upon them.
  701.
  702. Gaial had made a promise, and she'd made good on her word.
  703.
  704. It was only after a massive tentacle was coming down upon Kuhn that Kane jumped in front of it at the last second, saving his Chieftain from certain doom. The boy couldn't take the hit though, his left arm was absolutely crushed beneath the great limb.
  705.
  706. Kuhn himself was launched back into a stone pillar by the shockwave, and despite being adept at swimming, the impact still broke quite a few ribs, or more than a few...
  707.
  708. They needed to get out, that much was for certain, but as they swam the water became thick with poison and muck. Even with Sugarboy's potions and the of whatever else, Epsilon and Mital were infected with the aquatic disease.
  709.
  710. It was only once they saw an opening that the group could manage to see it, whatever IT was. But before they could exit something fired upward from beneath them; a pressure bubble exploding upward. It would have torn Mital in half had Sugarboy not drug him out of the way, but the poor alchemist couldn't move his own body in time.
  711.
  712. His leg was sent spiraling into the darkness of the ocean after being torn off by the current.
  713.
  714. Blood pooled around them while their injuries took affect, and towering completely within the wreckage of the outpost was none other than the Leviathan the Priestess had called.
  715. [00:16] ** TattlesDM has inflicted an injury upon Sugarboy. ("Removed Left Leg", "Sugarboy lost his left leg in a heroic act of saving Mital from death. A pressurized pocket of air launched upward from the depths of the ocean during their dive and it tore off the friendly alchemist's leg, leaving him crippled but maybe proud.", "Permanent", "Severity: MODERATE (-20 Vit)") **
  716. [00:28] And just as the potions were passed out, the building was coming down. Sugarboy would use his mastery over water to deftly dodge and push aside debris to keep himself safe, but he sensed the presence of the beast even before it reared it's ugly face.
  717.
  718. He felt as the leviathan launched the pocket of air, he wasn't thinking at all as instinct took over. "WATCH IT, CHI-" A mithril boot dug into Mital's midsection as he was kicked out of the way, the leg blown asunder and lost to the sea, like so many other things in Sugarboy's life.
  719.
  720. Bubbles would rupture forward as he lost grip of his magic for a moment as he screamed in agony, muffled by the water. Adrenaline would course through his veins as he regained control, his breathing heavy as blood poured from the missing limb. He'd force it to coagulate for the moment, so he didn't bleed out for the upcoming fight.
  721.
  722. He'd begin to float rather than walk as he did before, no longer having the necessary equipment to do so. An anger would be seen in his eyes as he raised his palms to the sea creature, ready to take it's life as well.
  723. (Sugarboy)
  724. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  725.
  726. [00:29] Destruction all around them, breaking the unprepared, an infection seeping into their lungs.
  727.
  728. "What fun," the pyromancer rasps, heedless of his injured companions, his voice further distorted by the effects of the poison. The fire sparks to life around him again, flaring and amplified by the suffering inflicted. The pain, the chaos, it fuels him.
  729.
  730. His laugh is a painful, shuddering one. The fact that it sounds so terribly wretched only makes him laugh harder. If he was beginning to lose himself before, he's now truly beyond the breach.
  731.
  732. Only fitting, to fight such an abomination. It's not the pyromancer's voice that rings out, greeting the leviathan. It's something else, something entirely inhuman.
  733.
  734. "HELLO BEASTIE.
  735.
  736. I CANNOT EXPRESS MY DELIGHT IN BEING ABLE TO WELCOME YOU HERE.
  737.
  738. DO NOT DISAPPOINT, NOW."
  739. (Epsilon)
  740. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  741.
  742. [00:30] Oh no, not chief!
  743.
  744. It was loyalty here, as when Kane seen his chieftain in peril his body acted before he could even rationalize his own decisions. Ethereal energies sent him in Kuhn's direction as he pushed him aside. Kane was now being faced with a tentacle-- there was no time to react he'd just have to take the blow or answer back.
  745.
  746. Kane did both.
  747.
  748. He'd aim to clash with the Leviathan, head on. Kane would of course lose, bad, and he did more than lose the clash. He was missing his arm, and he was sent flying.
  749.
  750. Damn, at least I saved someone right? But is that all I'm good for? He'd look around, rising from his spot. His arm was useless, all mushed up and shit. At this point it wasn't even needed, and while this hurt Kane would pull whatever was left of his arm off of his body. Not smart, but fuck it.
  751.
  752. Panting, he was now faced with a greater challenge than before, one that was far more powerful than anything they've faced before.
  753.
  754. "I ain't done yet. Get ready beast!"
  755. (Kane Cooper)
  756. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  757.
  758. [00:37] Kuhn is sent flying across the crumbling 'arena' after a heroic action from Kane, his ribs still shattering from the impact of the pillar he crashed into. It was a horrific occurrence, but.. at least it was over, right?
  759.
  760. The Leviathan crashing through the crumbling debris proves otherwise.
  761.
  762. With blood coming from his mouth and spreading through the water around him, the Prince of all Sirens rises back to a standing position. The situation was certainly grim. Looking around, most if not all of their warriors were in terrible shape or worse. The cultists and their leader had fallen, but at what cost?
  763.
  764. "Kehah..heh.. Before we rush into another battle.."
  765.
  766. The Deep Wail staff is twirled about in his hand and then slammed down to the ground, causing an echo that ripples out through what was left of the outpost. Kuhn was trying to.. demand the attention of the storm-laced beast?
  767.
  768. "Creature of the Deep! Hear me now. I am Kuhn, Prince of the Sirens. Soon to be conqueror of these seas. If this trident bound you to the service of the Priestess, know that it's mine now. We are both creatures of the storm. Monsters from the Deep with the entire world to gain. Join me. Join us. And together, we will take the entire world by storm."
  769.
  770. An offer with bravado behind it. But he had to try it. Above all else, Kuhn wanted the best things. The most coins. The strongest soldiers. He would be betraying his nature if he didn't at least try to use the power of the staff to gain an ally with the same affinity as him.
  771.
  772. "Or deny my offer, and face the same fate as her. As them. Know your worth, Beast."
  773. (Kuhn)
  774. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  775.
  776. [00:37] Get out.
  777.
  778. Those are the only words racing through the Chieftain's mind as the temple started to collapse in on itself. It's the only thing he could think of, escaping. And so, he tried.
  779.
  780. Swimming just about as fast as he can towards the exit, something from below shot up. Guess this was it, huh? Dead.. -- Wait, what? Before long Sugarboy kicked him off to the side, saving him from what was a certain death. Only for their Medic's leg to go flying off into the vast ocean they were surrounded by. Those golden eyes of his grew wide as he watched in horror, a wave of emotions washing over him.
  781.
  782. Anger, regret.. But, more importantly.. Relief.
  783.
  784. It was too soon for him to go, there's still so much he had left to do. And deep down, he couldn't help but push the blame onto the crazed Pyromancer for causing this; for almost causing his death. Instead of giving thanks to the Medic, the Chieftain's gaze snaps over towards the Pyromancer, those golden eyes of his narrowing in on him,
  785.
  786. "You little..--"
  787.
  788. Cutting his words short since the man seemed a bit.. Preoccupied.
  789.
  790. Growling out, his words were cut short as the man seemed to lose himself more and more to whatever was going on with him. There's no use in even bringing it up now, so instead. He'd focus at the task at hand, there were bigger fish to fry right now after all. Once more, lightning shot out to cover the Chieftain's frame completely. Shocking his system, helping him put a bit more of a spring in his step. Which in this case? Meant the fact that he was starting to move a bit faster.
  791.
  792. A lot faster, actually.
  793.
  794. Hopefully it'd be enough this time around.
  795. (Mital Vindict)
  796. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  797.
  798. [00:42] {NARRATION} The creature was about to obliterate them all. It was ready to crush them in these depths where they'd be simply forgotten in time, without true graves to be buried in.
  799.
  800. As Epsilon and the rest prepared for battle, even going to much as to taunt the Leviathan, Kuhn extended Gaial's trident, a weapon designed to bring something like this here.
  801.
  802. An ancient, barely understandable tone echoed forth from the thing, speaking words that only Kuhn could manage to understand. But the way it shifted, the way it paused--
  803.
  804. They could tell it had heard Kuhn's words, and wouldn't kneel without them proving their might.
  805. [00:53] ** Sugarboy has inflicted an injury upon Leviathan. ("Permanent Injury", "Permanent Injury", "Permanent", "Severity: MODERATE (-20 Vit)") **
  806. [01:09] The Siren's artificial heart was practically jumping out of his chest.
  807.
  808. Fighting and killing Sirens that had decided to walk the path of the Deep One was one thing, but being told to prove himself as the Master of Storms was another. That being said, he wouldn't disappoint.
  809.
  810. Annadel's favorite did what he does best-- bring down the wrath of wind, lightning, and water magic upon their enemy all at once. Any and everything he had left in his tank was thrown forth, despite his various broken ribs and injuries.
  811.
  812. "This is what you wanted, right?! To test the mettle of the Storm's Chosen? Know me as the one worthy to wield your power, beast."
  813.
  814. As he says this, the storm clouds located directly above the Leviathan part entirely, placing the enchanted sea dweller in the Eye of the Storm. And yet.. a mighty bolt of lightning still came down for it.
  815.
  816. Rather than striking a vital point, Kuhn aims to hit one of its tentacles, sending a booming thunder to follow right behind. Hopefully, this would be enough to snap any of his battle-hardy comrades out of their trances as well.
  817.
  818. "What is your verdict? Will you join us? Will you join me?"
  819. (Kuhn)
  820. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  821.
  822. [01:17] Sugarboy was seathing as he drifted with the currents, the very water boiling around him as he shot the creature with what blood he had left in his body. The beast would prove itself to be a worthy adversary, but not enough for Gehenna's strongest.
  823.
  824. As they whittled away at the massive leviathan, Sugarboy would take a step back, raising his hands in the air as what began swirling in a concentrated disk of fast moving, condensed water. He'd send the disc spiraling towards the behemoth in an arc and would shear through it's flesh, severing it's tentacle just before it could strike an ally.
  825.
  826. A leg for a leg, they were even and the blonde would smile as he dealt a crippling blow to it. There was a hunger in his eyes as he licked his lips, looking at what would come to be his dinner and trophy.
  827. (Sugarboy)
  828. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  829.
  830. [01:18] Another great battle, comparable to others.
  831.
  832. Kane was already running with one arm, and with that in mind he gave this fight his everything. Pushing to his limits and beyond, the teen flung himself at the beast. Attack after attack, he wouldn't stop until he fell. The strategy was beginning to work.
  833.
  834. The Leviathan was being pushed back. Things changed fast for Kane, he wasn't able to keep up for long. He was tired, struggling. Fatigue took over, and he would slow down.
  835.
  836. Burned and tossed aside, the adults would clean up. Kane fought like man at least. Phew.
  837. (Kane Cooper)
  838. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  839.
  840. [01:18] Even when he's practically possessed by his power, the blind man boasts an uncanny ability to deflect and dodge the attacks thrown at him. It's casual, lazy movements, putting himself in the right place at the right time.
  841.
  842. But survival is a secondary goal to making this thing suffer. Kuhn leads the fight, summoning bolt and storm to subdue, while the occultist flays its flesh with searing black flame. The shuddering noise escaping his form barely even resembles a laugh anymore. It's more of a manic, agonized cry, filled with glee.
  843.
  844. A great shuddering bolt pierces down through the beast's limb, an effect great enough to give him a moment's pause.
  845.
  846. They weren't playing for keeps, then. Sparing the thing.
  847.
  848. Only the rationale that it's likely to cause further suffering in the future allows Epsilon to drag his mind out of the abyss enough that he doesn't just attempt to finish off the great leviathan while it is defenseless, something that would surely earn his companions' ire and make their efforts pointless.
  849.
  850. No, for now he hangs back, a great, smoldering, dark form of fire and sigil, watching and waiting.
  851.
  852. Watching and waiting.
  853. (Epsilon)
  854. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  855.
  856. [01:18] Once it was all said and done, those sparks of lightning covering his form dispersed as the Chieftain slammed his weapon into the floor beneath his feet. Slumping forwards onto it, resting for a moment as he caught his breath.
  857.
  858. .. It was over, and hopefully thanks to Kuhn, they may have gained a new fearsome pet.
  859.
  860. Glancing about the room, he made sure nobody else was hurt again--, Wait, Kane was. They really shouldn't have brought the kid with them. But, he seemed like he wasn't going to take no for an answer.
  861.
  862. All he can do now is wait to see if the giant beast answered.
  863. (Mital Vindict)
  864. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  865.
  866. [01:19] {NARRATION} Crippled and wounded, they still fought bravely. The Chieftains of Gehenna and their brave followers not only struck back against the mighty beast of the ocean, but also ascended, nearing the surface once again as the battle continued. Storms wrought the sea, both from the sirenian prince as well as the behemoth before him.
  867.
  868. Despite everything, only Kane would find himself wounded, marred and burned by the blood spilled by the creature as it boiled the water they swam in.
  869.
  870. Finally, after being crippled itself by none other than Sugarboy and being struck by Kuhn's great lightning bolt, it groaned. Again that ancient tongue echoed through air and water alike, translated only to Kuhn who held the trident in his clutches.
  871.
  872. It shifted and turned in the wreckage of the outpost after delivering its message to the Prince. It seemed in its retreat, it was allowing them all to return to safety upon their ship to return home with their treasures.
