- >144 hours
- Believe it or not this is a very likely thing. In Japan, workaholic natures are super bad. Having 6 straight days of work sounds like absolute hell. To put in perspective, my first job in High School was at a restaurant that paid me to work for about 8 and a half hours (not including breaks or lunch which amounted to about an hour worth of breaks) 8 hours would mean 5 days worth of the JP legal limit. As a filtyh gaijin, I cannot say in good health that I'd be able to pull off 144 consecutive days, but 144 exactly sounds like an exaggeration. I'd give or take a few hours. Maybe lower it to 130. Some people would most likely camp in at the offices after their shift.
- >X/Y cuts, ORAS cuts, SM cuts, X2Y2
- Sadly, I've got very little info on these. I've heard absolutely nothing but it is very possible for Game Freak to cut cool concepts. For example, in Pokemon Snap, there was a planned Graveyard stage for ghost, psychic, poison, and a few bug type Pokemon. The composer for the soundtrack has music pertaining to the stage, including a "boss" song. It's common knowledge there's no bosses in Snap.
- While I know nothing about Gen 6 cuts, I'll briefly mention this. ORAS megas were meant to show up in SM, and Golem's, Exeggutor, and possibly Raichu's Alolan forms were NOT meant to be Alolan forms. They were once Mega Evolutions. That black Nihilego that would absorb Lusamine was meant to be a form, or even an evolution, possibly a Mega but was cut due to how models merged. The original plan was to fight the Nihilego and help Lusamine get out of it. USUM was meant to introduce two new Alolan forms.
- >Morale
- I stand by my statements of Iwata's passing being the catalyst. Morale has declined, and I don't think the controversy of the lack of some species not making it was what caused it to dip even further. It was already low.
- >Keeping up with TCG and anime
- This is straight up truth. It's common knowledge at this point, but some people still don't understand Pokemon just cannot be delayed.
- >Shareholders
- Unsure.
- >Southern Kalos, "The Ghost Girl in the Hotel" among other Lumiose mysteries, Gen 6 Protag's dad, and Alice
- Cannot confirm. Cannot confirm. Cannot confirm. It's been speculated for the first two to be related. I have no idea about Gen 6's protag's father being involved with Team Flare. However, Lysandre does have a secret that was never mentioned. Lysandre is actually the lord feuding kingdom that was at war with AZ's. Opposite to AZ who keeps staying old and near immortal, Lysandre stopped aging and growing.
- Alice, on the other hand. I'll straight up say it. She was cut because despite being embedded in the story, because of the reason of her existence being a more "adult theme" that wouldn't work in an A CERO rated game. They couldn't even change her story because it would've required changing so much about her including appearance.
- Other things to note:
- >Who I am
- Sam South. I may not be known as this is simply an alias, but I'm trying to make the truth not fade into darkness.
- >PR stunts
- In the full interview there is a sly mention about how Disney and Marvel had a hook on Capcom during the development of Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite. This caused the roster to be even smaller than MVC3's vanilla roster at only 38 characters including Jill and Shuma DLC. During its development, Peter Rosales stated that "No one wants to play Magneto for Magneto, they want to play for his functions." To compare, that's like saying that catching a fire type Pokemon would be no different from another, like say Typhlosion, to Cinderace. They're both starters, both fire types, and have similar movesets and BSTs. But it's not the same game plan. This was a quote that lives in infamy, about "Functions vs Functions" due to how terribly orchestrated it was, as to not throw Marvel or Disney to the wolves as to why there is a lack of X-Men. It's a PR bullcrap response to protect themselves from losing any funding, licensing, etc. to keep the real reason why they didn't have X-Men, Fantastic Four, or Deadpool, who was a fan favorite that Capcom fought VERY hard for. It was solely to shill the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All the excuses Masuda and Ohmori made up were merely ways to protect TPCi. They couldn't talk about crunch, they couldn't talk about work conditions. And as a reminder, Nintendo doesn't have much power, they just say yes or no, really.
- >Sword 2 and Shield 2, Helmet, Gun, Diamond and Pearl remakes, whatever is next
- No. Fucking. Clue. When Sun and Moon released, USUM had been announced to us as our next project. When USUM released, we were given nearly a month long wait. After, we were told about two games, Let's Go, and Sword and Shield. Lots of scrambling among teams, shuffling, and of course, lots of things lost in translation. It was a game of telephone to understand who was talking about what. Either there's gonna be a break or there's straight up going to be a new project to work on. Time will tell.
- >T-shirt contest
- Bet you forgot about this little controversy. There was a contest for designing a T-shirt to get in the game and the winner was disqualified, and ultimately the game did not have this design due to the winner selling the design on a store. The reason why they did this was because, you guessed it, they wanted to sell the design on their stores. They didn't even go to the runner ups because they straight up didn't want to contact any of them.
- >Tagged
- This is probably the scariest thing but a lot of workers at TPCi, Nintendo, and Game Freak have "tagged" electronics. This means that they have their phones, their computers, etc. tagged with what is pretty much a keylogger if they log in to employee websites. It's why it's hard to leak things, and some people straight up just buy new hardware just to leak it, if they can. This is probably the scariest thing to talk about and it's mentioned nowhere in any agreement with the three companies.
