Christmas has to be funny

Alexithymiaa: -Noah was thankful his sister had headed back to New York after the pressing week of having her visiting. He loved his sister, but he wasnt a fan of her and Tae ganging up on him all week. Wanting to get some fresh air, he headed outside with a basketball, dribbling and circling the driveway to make shot after shot at the basket.-
Covet: Tae had been on the phone in the garage with her Mom, when she started hearing someone bouncing a basket ball and it hitting the backboard. "Okay, Mom. I love you, I'll talk to you next week, keep up the good work. I'm proud of you for keeping with this." She said with a smile, "Just a couple more weeks, and we'll be together for Hannukah...Yeah Christmukah." Hanging up after a slight laugh. Then heard another bang on the backboard. She walked to the control for the garage, opening it up.
Alexithymiaa: -He went to shoot again when the garage door started to lift up, stopping mid motion and shifting the ball to hold underneath his arm because if he missed he would definitely hit her with the ball. "What're you doing?"-
Covet: "I was on the phone with my mom, but then I was kind of interupted, but I was pretty much done talking to her." Tae said with a smile, "What are you doing?"
Alexithymiaa: "Getting some fresh air." He said with a shrug, lifting the ball up and flicking his wrist to send it towards the hoop, sinking it through the basket easily.-
Covet: "Ah, I found out some awesome news tonight. Looks like my mom is going to be getting out of Rehab." Tae said with a smile.
Alexithymiaa: "Oh yeah?' he asked as he walked to collect his rebound, dribbling it a bit more. "That's great. It's good she's doing better. When is she getting out?"-
Covet: "In a couple weeks, she said before the holidays." Tae said with a grin. "She's excited to start the New year completely sober and free."
Alexithymiaa: "I think that sounds like a really good new years resolution. Hopefully she doesnt feel like there's a lot of pressure though.I know some people say that about resolutions." He paused, shooting the ball again and sinking it through the net. "Is your family doing shit for Hanukkah this week?"-
Covet: "I don't think I've ever made a new year's resolution." Tae said trying to think about it for a second then gave a shrug. " Well, kind of. Recognizing it yes, but we're celebrating it the week before Christmas, because of Christmukah."
Alexithymiaa: "I haven't either. It's stupid. If I'm going to change something about my life, I'm not waiting until the end of the year to purge my bad habits. Not that I have any bad habits..." He trailed off, breaking into a jog to grab his ball. "Right, Chrismukkah. So that's how that works? You just roll through the week celebrating and move right into Christmas?"-
Covet: "Besides, how many people actually stick to their resolutions? Why set yourself up for failure?" Tae said with a laugh, "You are a bad habbit." She laughed, "More or less. It's kind of like Eight days of Christmas, Instead of our menorah having silver candles, it's got green and red. The christmas tree is decorated with Stars of David, and other jewish elements. The christmas presents are wrapped in Hanukkah paper. Stuff like that."
Alexithymiaa: "I can get behind this. Too bad I don't have the Chris in my mukkah. I'm strictly mukkah." He said like a douche, tossing the ball between his hands. "I always wanted to participate in that Christmas junk."-
Covet: "You sound retarded." Tae told him with a laugh. "That was dumb. So... you're on your own, if you want to participate in it, why not? But.. do you want to participate in the religious Christmas Holiday, or the comercial Coca-Cola holiday?" She asked.
Alexithymiaa: "Obviously the commercial Coca-Cola holiday. Fuck the religious shit. I'm not a Christian. I do enough of my own religious shit that I actually follow, I don't need any of that extra shit that I don't even believe in." He said, dribbling and walking in circles with the ball.-
Covet: "I don't think masturbation is a religion." Tae told him. "So then you want to do the whole present giving thing, hot cocoa, snowmen, and all that. We could go get our picture taken with Santa in the mall!" Tae told him.
Alexithymiaa: "You don't know anything." He said quickly with a grin, shooting the ball at the hoop again. "Yeah, that. Oh we should do that. It'll be ironic and funny. I want one of those one time use sweater things with the lights and the stupid looking patterns."-
Covet: "Oh? Then enlighten me...." Tae said putting her hands on her hips. "Oh an Ugly sweater? Everywhere has them this year. Target, Walmart, Macy's, Spencers. You'll probably have your best luck at Spencer's. That store is right up your alley all the time."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, because Spencer's is the best. They probably have funny versions." He paused, watchign the ball bounce away and into the bushes. "Wait what do we do with the pictures after we take them?"-
Covet: "I know they have ones with Deer humping on them." Tae told him. "Seems fitting. We frame them, and put them somewhere to laugh at later? Or like a photo album?"
Alexithymiaa: "That seems like a waste of a perfectly hilarious joke." He said, considering other possible ideas. "What if we like... mailed them to our families?"-
Covet: "I guess if you wanted to? Though.. if your family is hardcore Jewish, I don't know if that would make them any happier with you right now." Tae said with a wince. " And that's not a place you want to be with family, trust me."
Alexithymiaa: "I wouldn't say we're like... hardcore Jewish, but I guess I'm not willing to find out if they think it's as funny as I do." He walked over to the bushes, plucking the ball out and turning back. "Then what can we do?"-
Covet: "Hmm, post it on Social Media?" Tae suggested. " I thought the point was just to participate and make memories, it's not like anyone else is going to care what we do for the holiday."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but it's funny. Don't we want to do something funny with it? Like what do other people do when they get their picture taken with Santa?" He asked.-
Covet: "I already told you." Tae said with a groan. "They frame it, or they put it in a photo album to smile and look back on it, or laugh later."
Alexithymiaa: "But that seems like such a waste of comedy. I'd probably never look at it again." He said with a frown, shifting the ball under his arm. "What if we mailed them as cards just to our friends?"-
Covet: "That could be fun, I guess?" Tae said, not really concerned about what to do with it. "I didn't think this was for comedy's sake, I just thought it was about doing the Christmas thing."
Alexithymiaa: "Well yeah it is, but it's not like we like or believe in Santa so it's more of a funny idea than anything else." He paused, juggling the ball in his hands. "Okay what else is Christmasy? Like, stockings, right?"-
Covet: "Something funny that few people are going to get, let alone laugh at." Tae mumbled, then looked at him. "Yeah, stockings, Oh! Decorating christmas cookies."
Alexithymiaa: "YES! Let's do that. Let's do that like... tomorrow. That sounds like the first thing we should be doing. And when we finish eating them, we can make more and do it all over again." He said with an excited nod.-
Covet: "Okay but we have to leave some out for Santa" She said. "Okay I'm getting cold. So I'm going to close this and go make something warm to drink. Unless you can think of a better idea to warm up." She said hitting the button leaving the conversation at that.
Alexithymiaa: "Can you make me something too?" He asked as the door closed, her words sinking in as he just stood there in the driveway. "Oh wait.." He said to himself, breaking into a jog and making a beeline for the front door to let himself inside.-
