  1. Zombie Dream Reconstructed as Best I Can
  2.
  3. We stood on the edge of the cliff, his eyes suspiciously glancing at me, the smell of years and years of our deeds had filled the air. I glanced down at the envelope feeling the weight and thickness in my hand, both of us knowing what its contents held.
  4. I Stood there, silent as my eyes shifted back up to my once good friend, his face contorting to a much more angry expression as he took a step forward. Outstretching my arm behind myself, over the cliffs edge, I took another step back. I could begin to hear the moans below us, low, terrifying, the news had not been lying, this was happening, it was happening right below us. As I looked at Ben, his face was filled with fear and anger at my choice. Tears began to roll down my face. My friend was gone, lost in fear and greed that the coming of the Undead would expose him, for the sins we both had committed. Myself, I knew the monster I was, and when the mountain of Corpses below us would pour towards the now Half destroyed Prison, all would see me as such. I killed for justice, I killed for the safety of my Prison, but that makes me more a monster then those I killed.
  5. My hand was shaking as the moans began to get louder, the reanimation had begun, there was no hiding anymore. The Choice was made, and I brought the envelope back to myself and tore it open, pulling the money free. Softly, the wind blew, Rotten Flesh scented air filled my nose, as i looked down upon it. This was our reward, this was it for killing all those people. Paper.
  6. Quickly my eyes shot back to Ben as he was also staring in awe at just how much money was in my hand. I quickly darted it back out over the edge, " We can't take this money Ben, if we do, then we-" but before I could finish Ben was in my face, A Crazed Look in his eyes.
  7. That was all I needed to see, as his fist sank hard into my face. My Friend was gone, my family killed, I was alone once again. I staggered back, almost falling back off the ledge, but Ben grabbed my hand, Not to save ME of course, but to save his precious money. Staggering forward I quickly turned to face Ben, ducking his slow punches, i tripped him, my Foot lifting up and stomping hard down upon his ankle. The Crack I heard was probably not as loud as i recall, but it was as if it echoed through the canyons below. His screams of pain hurt more then his punch. I once again stepped back to the ledge.
  8. Looking down, the Mountain of bodies below had began to shift around, the sounds you only heard in movies had gotten louder. That was it, it was over.
  9. Looking back to Ben as he scrambled to his feet, his face lifted to see myself holding the money back over the ledge. I spoke softly to him. " If you want it...then go face them."
  10. Through gritted teeth, he replied, " You are no better then me, do not act like they are all mine".
  11. He was right, I was no better, but I was not fueled by the greed. It sounds corny now, but I feel I was fueled by Justice.
  12. Letting out a long breath, I let go, the wind taking the wad of money, and spraying it through the air, raining down over the Pile of Monsters. A Scream of Panic erupted from Ben as he dashed, leaping over the edge, grasping at the air for any money he could grab as he plummeted .
  13. I Looked away, and began walking towards my car, emotionless. The Crazed Madman that jumped off the cliff side was no longer Ben, he was as mindless as the monsters who broke his fall. The Moans and screams behind me got louder, as I am sure the monsters began their first feast.
  14. Slipping into my car I sat for a moment as I heard his screams of pain, as i can only assume now, was from his body being tore apart and eaten, It was time to move on from this place i called home for almost 5 years. If the Dead were rising, then it was time to prepare. At that moment, a little part of me wished i had kept the money, but the screams of what use to be Ben snapped me from that thought, and were only silenced from the closing of the car door.
