- [15:41] <@Kilarra> -Session 26-
- [15:44] <@Kilarra> The morning comes along after the party manages another 5 hours of sleep, give or take.
- [15:45] * Kilarra is a bit fitful in her sleep, between the touch of that Wraith and the reminders of both her past and parents.
- [15:48] <@Kilarra> Kjell stretches as he awakens and, while trying not to disturb Tognik, brings up his spellbook and begins to prepare for the day. He finally feels refreshed, his arcane energies fully restored.
- [15:49] * Aluthyra wakes up quickly, as the sun rises, and looks over to Kilarra, raising an eyebrow at her fitful sleep.
- [15:49] <Aluthyra> Tognik continues to sleep, all throughout Kjell's preparation.
- [15:51] * Kilarra finally wakes up, looking a bit worse for wear. That wraith's touch had sapped her good, and she only hoped she had sufficent power to undo the damage. She gives Aluthyra a wave, "You're probably gonna want to step out for this next part. Unless you wanna participate."
- [15:53] * Aluthyra blinks, then scurries out, moving a distance away from the tent so that it will not be so loud.
- [15:54] * Kilarra is somewhat subdued today compared to her usual immodest enthusiasm. Mainly because she feels crummy on account of the draining of her life force.
- [15:56] * Aluthyra focuses her time, meanwhile, on meditation outside.
- [15:57] <@Kilarra> Aluthyra is approached by Erix, who does a bit of stretching before addressing her, "Good morning."
- [15:58] * Aluthyra nods in his direction, in a sitting position for her meditation. "Good morning, Erix."
- [16:00] <@Kilarra> Erix again shows himself to be surprisingly limber for a man of his stature. He glances in the direction of Kilarra's tent. "Your friend seems to be enjoying herself. If I had to guess, I'd say she's from the Veil?"
- [16:01] * Aluthyra nods. "She indeed is." She raises an eyebrow. "You do not seem like the usual of Zincher's crew. I take it you are new?"
- [16:02] <@Kilarra> Erix shakes his head, "No, I've been with Zincher for four years, but my loyalties lay elsewhere." He whispers that part
- [16:03] * Aluthyra raises an eyebrow. "And you intend to tell us of where they lay? I am curious, I admit."
- [16:07] <@Kilarra> Erix nods, "You had my back last night, and you don't seem to care for Zincher any more than I do. That said, I really couldn't get anything out of him regarding his recent strange behaviour."
- [16:08] * Aluthyra nods. "I am sure either Kjell or Kilarra have spells prepared to check either way."
- [16:11] <@Kilarra> Erix nods, "Well, we should hurry up. Zincher likes to sleep in, but he's probably not going to be happy when he finds out your cleric cured those two last night."
- [16:11] * Aluthyra raises an eyebrow. "Why would he not?"
- [16:14] <@Kilarra> Erix frowns, "Lacking a means to cure those two, he had been planning to attempt to harvest the larval creature inside. I had hoped your cleric would be able to help them because such an act disgusted me."
- [16:16] * Aluthyra blinks and frowns. "I would agree." She sits up and stands. "Then let us hurry."
- [16:17] <@Kilarra> Erix nods and follows Aluthyra back to Kjell and Tognik's tent
- [16:18] * Kilarra finishes up her preparatiosn and immediately lays her hands on herself. "Calistria, please restore my lost vitality..." Her hands glow with a holy light... and nothing happens. "Curses." She sighs and gets up, heading over to the other tent after getting dressed, still looking slightly emaciated.
- [16:19] * Aluthyra raises an eyebrow as she sees Kilarra. "Are you not feeling well?"
- [16:20] * Kilarra grumbles, "Stupid wraith touch. I don't have enough potency to restore the vitality it drained. I'm gonna be stuck like this until we can get back to Shorafa."
- [16:22] * Aluthyra frowns. "Then you should be careful, if you are drained."
- [16:24] * Kilarra nods, "Don't have to tell me twice.
- [16:25] <@Kilarra> Kjell closes his spellbook and starts donnign his armour, "So, now that we're all prepared, what have you to tell us... oh wait." He prods Tognik awake.
- [16:27] <Aluthyra> Tognik yawns, rubbing his bleary eyes, and sits up. "Yeah, yeah... I'm up."
- [16:31] * Kilarra seats herself on Kjell's cot, not wanting to expend energy to stand at the moment. Ultimately, she wasn't in terrible shape, but she felt comparatively like rubbish.
- [16:34] * Aluthyra nods to Kjell. "We should try and dispel the enchantment on Zincher soon, then perhaps see what he knows."
- [16:36] * Kilarra looks up, "Got that covered. Hopefully it's not so strong I can't get rid of it."
- [16:36] <@Kilarra> Erix nods, "Perhaps that will shed some light on what I could not get anything from him."
- [16:37] * Kilarra looks to Erix, "You said you had some dirt for us and i did your little favour. I'm not really in the mood for pleasantries right now, so spill it."
- [16:37] * Aluthyra looks towards Zincher's tent. "Then let us go now, and get this over with."
- [16:39] <@Kilarra> Erix shakes his head, "Your friend is right, I did promise information. After that, we can see what can be done abotu any enchantments
- [16:40] <@Kilarra> ."
- [16:42] <Aluthyra> Tognik nods. "Then let
- [16:42] <Aluthyra> 's hear it."
- [16:48] <@Kilarra> Erix sets his hammer head down on the ground and leans against it. "I work for Zincher right now, but I'm actually contracted to the Sable Company of Korvosa. They're a special sect of marines with the intent of striking pre-emptively at enemies of the city. They had a spy on Zincher before until he got sniffed out. All we got back was his mutilated corpse."
- [16:50] * Aluthyra nods. "So you are planning to take down Zincher?"
- [16:55] <@Kilarra> Erix shrugs, "If it happens it happens, although the Sable order wants him alive if possible." He pulls a cigar out of his pocket and lights it, taking a puff before continuing. "Been in and out of Riddleport over the last four years, but this was the longest stint so far. Zincher's wanted for piracy, smuggling and a few murders from a few years back. I imagine you wouldn't object too strongly if I asked for your help bringing him in?
- [16:55] <@Kilarra> -if I asked for your help bringing him in?"
- [17:00] * Kilarra looks skeptical for a moment, but sees an opportunity. Plus the guy didn't seem to be lying, although she wondered if there was some other benefit in bringing Zincher in on his end.
- [17:04] * Aluthyra nods. "Of course I will offer my assistance."
- [17:04] * Kilarra looks to Aluthyra, "He's telling the truth about wanting to bring Zincher in, although I suspect there's more of his own benefit than he's letting on."
- [17:05] <@Kilarra> Erix blinks, then nods, "Yeah, actually. You're pretty keen. The Sable Order said they'd be willing to put in a good word for me with my old Order. I lost my temper and crippled a fellow monk during a spar, so I was kicked out. Been tryin' to get a better grip on it since."
- [17:06] <@Kilarra> Kjell smirks, "That would explain why you're so light on your feet in spite of your stature. Very impressive."
- [17:06] * Aluthyra raises an eyebrow. "You are, or were, a monk as well?"
- [17:07] <@Kilarra> Erix nods, "The Order of the Fire Ghost. I'm a decent pugilist, but I also learned to back it up with a big hammer."
- [17:08] * Aluthyra nods. "Interesting. I would not have guessed."
- [17:15] * Kilarra shrugs, "I had an inkling. Anyways, now that everything is on the table... oh wait. Have you seen any dark-skinned elves since coming to the island?"
- [17:18] <@Kilarra> Erix blinks, then shakes his head, "No, I haven't but I did hear rumours about one being seen in Riddleport not long after the star fell."
- [17:18] * Kilarra smirks, "Yup. That'd be the one we, or at least I, apprehended. The other two participants have since retired from this endavour."
- [17:20] * Aluthyra clears her throat. "Erix said that we should make haste to Zincher, before he finds out that we healed those others. We best do it quickly."
- [17:22] * Kilarra raises an eyebrow, "Why would that be a problem?" She stands up anyways, stretching her hooves.
- [17:23] * Aluthyra looks to Erix to explain.
- [17:25] <@Kilarra> Erix nods, "The last time we had a pair of thugs infected with the creature's bite and no way to heal them, Zincher had the idea to try and harvest the larval creatures rather than capturing a fully grown one. He failed, but I had no reason to believe he wouldn't have tried again with these two had they not been cured."
- [17:25] * Kilarra bares her gritted, needle-like teeth, "I think mister Zincher is long overdue for a meeting with my whip." She cracks it threateningly.
- [17:27] <Aluthyra> Tognik stretches, finally fully awake, and chuckles. "Let him have it, Kilarra."
- [17:28] * Kilarra curls her whip back up and nods to Erix, "You lead us in. Less likely to have guard interference that way."
- [17:28] * Aluthyra keeps her hand on her bow, though keeps it slung over her shoulder to not seem threatening.
- [17:29] <@Kilarra> Erix nods, "My thoughts exactly. The men are anxious and would probably consider fighting you a relief compared to the monsters, but based on what I've seen, you'd clobber them. However, being forced to follow potentially lethal orders has some of them desperate to get home in one piece."
- [17:31] * Aluthyra nods. "We will be careful regardless."
- [17:32] * Kilarra looks to Erix, "You need him alive, right? Is anything beyond that a problem?"
- [17:33] <@Kilarra> Erix raises an eyebrow, "Well, we're gonna need him able to talk at least."
- [17:33] * Kilarra nods, "Got it, I'll got for the legs."
- [17:35] * Aluthyra shakes her head. "Try to dispel the enchantment first, then we may be able to do this without attacking him, Kilarra."
- [17:38] * Kilarra frowns, looking disappointed. She grumbles to herself, really wanting to hurt somethign because she was in a foul mood over the wraith incident. Why the hell had suc ha powerful undead shown up amidst a bunch of zombies anyways?
- [17:40] * Aluthyra motions for Erix to lead, ready to go to Zincher.
- [17:45] <@Kilarra> Erix leads the group out of their tents and up to ZIncher's pavilion. He moves past the two guards outside the tent who simply let him pass. They look like they're about to stop the party, but when Erix motions for them to enter as well, they stand aside.
- [17:51] <TenMihara> Zincher is just in the process of getting up, looking tired as he does so. He stands up and looks to Erix and the party wit ha raised eyebrow, "What are you doing in here?"
- [17:51] == TenMihara has changed nick to Kilarra
- [17:54] <Aluthyra> Tognik nods to the man, trying to give Kilarra enough time to cast her spell as he speaks, "We're just wanting to talk. Maybe collect our pay for last night. We took care of quite a large group of zombies."
- [17:55] <Kilarra> Zincher frowns at them, "I thoguht I told you that you would be paid upon safe return to Riddleport. What makes you think I want to hear this kind of blather first thing in the morning."
- [17:57] <Aluthyra> Tognik looks at Kilarra, hoping she is going to cast it soon. "Just thought you should know. We're also wondering if you'd be able to talk about the island with us a bit."
- [17:59] * Kilarra groans and decides to dispense with the pleasantries, holding up her holy symbol, "Calistria, free this man from the forces that hold sway over him."
- [18:01] <Kilarra> Zincher blinks for a moment, then staggers backwards, clutching his head. "Gah... the hell... I... you..." He looks at Kilarra, a mix of rage and confusion on his face.
- [18:01] * Kilarra smirks, "Now then, is there anything you can tell us about those 'unfortunate denizens' that you couldn't before?"
- [18:01] * Aluthyra hushes him. "She only removed a spell someone else placed on you, for your own good. Do you remember who this may have been? Or if you have seen anyone else on the island?"
- [18:02] == Aqu [[email protected]] has joined #FoEFansdoDnD
- [18:05] <Kilarra> Zincher takes a few deep breaths to abate his anger at their intrusion, "Yeah. It was that dark skinned elf woman. She did it my first night here. Had me using my men and our operation to keep other parties away from this place. I had been hoping you'd catch on and deal with them so I could get away, but I didn't suspect you'd come after me like this."
- [18:06] * Kilarra raises an eyebrow, "You knew the whole time?"
- [18:07] <Kilarra> Zincher nods, "Yeah, but whatever that bitch did to me made me think we were friendly."
- [18:08] * Aluthyra blinks.
- [18:14] * Aluthyra frowns. "We need not fight. We share a common enemy."
- [18:15] <Kilarra> Zincher looks at them, "You wanna deal with them? Be my guest. I was sick of taking orders from that bitch anyways, but she had me coming down every night for more suggestions. I can show ya where. You deal with them, you're welcome to keep whatever you find that's theirs."
- [18:17] <Kilarra> Zincher rolls his shoulders and grumbles, "I'll be glad just to get off this blasted rock when my ships come back."
- [18:17] * Aluthyra looks to Kilarra. "That seems fair to me, if you were to lead us to them."
- [18:19] * Kilarra seems disappointed that they didn't get to rough Zincher up, but... "Alright, you show us the way, we'll deal with them." She gives Erix a wink. They had their priorities, but there was no reason they couldn't deal with Zincher when they got back, given they still had another day to wait for the Flying Cloud.
- [18:20] <Kilarra> Kjell notes, "Even better that we go now, since the daylight will keep them confined."
- [18:20] <Aluthyra> Tognik grins. "I bet they have the metal..."
- [18:22] <Kilarra> Zincher finishes getting dressed and leads the party past their tents down to a narrow cliffside path. "Follow this down to some caves. As well, considering what that witch did to me, it'd be worth a little something if you bring me her head."
- [18:25] * Aluthyra takes out her bow, examining the cliffside before proceeding.
- [18:27] <Kilarra> A hidden path through the narrow part of the woods beyond their tents at Zincher's camp has led the party to a cliffside, whereupon a narrow ledge, barely five feet wide, winds down the side of the cliff to a spur of rock about 20 feet above the sea.
