Castlevania
Classic sidescroller with badass music and is hard as hell.

A beautiful enchanting game. It's like a 2D Journey only not as boring (still is).

Worms Armageddon
Great turn-based combat game featuring worms. The PC version is way beter.

A decent port of SMB to the GBC. Hate the resolution though.

The troubled middle game in the NES triology. It's alright.

The OG Castlevania game on the MSX. My god does it suck.

Much more smoother and responsive than it's prequel. Damn hard though.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!
It's Yakuza in the Edo period. Fun but I'm not invested in the plot.

Good whip-having fun with great music.

Castlevania: Dracula X
Another Castlevania with great music but the gameplay is limited.

The best NES Castlevania game. Best music but it's too damn hard.

A pretty good hack of Castlevania 1. Mostly samey but good new music.

Perhaps the finest classic Castlevania game (i.e. not Metroidvania style).

A cutesy parody of Castlevania. It's pretty alright.

Super Mario Bros. Mini
A homebrew remake of SMB on the GBC but with extra content. It's alright.

Galactic Pinball
A bog standard pinball game; multiple tables that will last you multiple minutes.

Worms Blast
It's Bust-A-Move with worms. It's slow and cumbersome, like your mother.

A fanastic game; great music, laughable voice acting, but damn hard.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Solid gameplay, great music, but way too much cheap fake-difficulty.

Glover
A platformer in which you play as a glove and bounce balls. Bizarre.

Super Mario Bros. 2
Quite the fun sidescroller. One of the best Mario soundtracks.

Super Mario Advance
A good remake of SMB2. I like that it isn't a 1:1 remake but a sorta remix.

A masterclass of classic platforming. The best SMB game on the NES.

A neat little game. Short but has nice music.

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
A good game that's better than SML but I hate the zoomed in perspecive.

Blaster Master
Fun yet hard. Has one of the best NES soundtracks.

Waifu Clicker
It's Cookie Clicker with anime waifus. I wish the girls were cuter.

Basic easy platformer starring the rascally wabbit.

A maddening physics-based platformer. I lack the patience and reflexes to get far.

Fester's Quest
Guide the slow baldy Fester and shoot blobs and frogs. It's bleh. Good music.

Dumb arcade fun smashing cars. This is my fave in this series.

Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit!
Tim Allen vs dinosaurs. It's pretty bad.

Play as a snake and eat balls to get longer. It's very awkward to control.

A racing game featuring little cars. It's basic but has cheating AI.

Marble Madness
Guide a marble down isometric levels. I am embarrassed by my lack of skill.

The OG action-adventure classic that I just can't get into.

Metroid II: Return of Samus
An oft-forgotten gem of the GameBoy. It's more confusing than the prequel.

Solid gameplay with the best music in the series. Difficulty wise: it's hard.

A decent game but in my opinion the worst of the NES trilogy.

A pretty good 2v2 fighter but it can get dumb.

Two iconic teams meet up to beat up. It's stupid hard but has great music.

A very confusing platform game. You will get lost and die a lot.

A crappy platformer made by... Rare? At least the music is decent.

Rugrats: Search for Reptar

The OG of the platformer series that gives me grey hairs.

Good ol' Tetris on the good ol' GameBoy. Only now do I realise I'm no good.

Contra Force
This game is made bad by all the slowdown, making it unfairly hard.

My fave in the series; certainly has the best music.

It's Snake Rattle N Roll but as a 2D sidescroller. Somehow it's harder.

Busting makes me feel good but not this game.

Poorly slapped together sidescroller with awkward controls.

Catch monsters with balls, pinball style. It's alright.

Ambitious but plays rubbish. Technically amazing but almost unplayable.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
The beginnings of a superb franchise though very dated. Soundtrack is still good.

A quirky sidescroller with gorgeous claymation design and hilarious cutscenes.

Neon White
An awesome game that mixes FPS with platforming, with an emphasis on speed.

Tarzan
A pretty good game adapting a pretty good movie.

Earthworm Jim 2
A wacky zany sidescroller that's not as fun as its predecesor.

Killer Instinct
An alright Mortal Kombat clone. I might actually like it more than MK.

Bust-A-Move
Shoot balls onto other matching balls. Simple clean fun.

Ms. Pac-Man
A pretty good port of the arcade classic. Ms. Pac-Man's got curves.

Visually stunning but plays like wading through mud.

Ninja Gaiden Trilogy
Three great games in one package but the music is ruined.

Tough as hell sidescroller with good music.

BPM: Bullets Per Minute
Rhythm based FPS where you shoot to the beat. Good music but meh gameplay.

A PS1 classic. I've forgotten how hard this game is.

Bog-standard pinball with the worst tables ever. Decent RPG mode though.

A janky dull boomer shooter that's just brown and repetitive.

Quake II RTX
A great game gets the RTX treatment. Damn good apart from the tiny menu text.

Pokémon Puzzle Challenge
A pretty fun tile matching game.

Final Fight
A good beat 'em up and debut of an OG gaming chad Mike Haggar.

The worst port of the game? Yeah it's up there.

A mid action game that proves Castlevania isn't very good in 3D.

It's Crash 1-3 but in sidescroller form. It's fine fun.

Build and manage a zoo. I would have liked this as a kid but now I get bored fast.

This Magical Girl is a Bitch
A Visual Novel of a girl who gets powers to take down her bullies. It's short and free.

An alright daughter raiser but it's too slow and low budget for the long term.

A decent dating game that you can have going in the background.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
A good FPS game that I haven't played since 2004. It has too much padding.

The old man and the boy must avert Ragnorok but the gods aren't making it easy.

3D puzzle platformer that melts my brain. I used to be kinda good at this game.

A strange collection of minigames that are very wacky and Japanese. It's fun for a while.

Now: beat the game, gotten all the gems, may return to get all gold relics

Some say it is the best version. I'm inclined to agree.
2000 | DC

* The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants: a crappy sidescroller with awkward controls.
* Pac-Man: a pretty good port of the classic game.
* Journey to Silius: an overlooked gem. Good music but damn is it hard.
* Life Force: Salamander: this would be alright if it wasn't full of fake difficulty.
* Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game: pretty mid if mindless.

Game Boy lightning round: 5 games randomly-chosen.
* Revenge of the 'Gator: an alright pinball game but it's a bit basic.
* Wave Race: racing game + floaty physics = not a good time.
* Nemesis: a pretty good shmup.
* Contra: The Alien Wars: Somehow it's easier than the SNES version.
* Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan: a bog standard game. It's kinda easy.

Sega Master System lightning round: 5 games randomly-chosen.
* Alex Kidd in Miracle World: a clunky platformer. It's a miracle this series went anywhere.
* Shinobi: a mid game with dumb controls. Decent music though.
* Taz-Mania: an alright platformer that plays like Sonic but it's too twitchy.
* OutRun: decent port of the arcade classic.
* Ninja Gaiden: an alright game but it must be the most frustrating version of this game.

Super Pinball: Behind the Mask
A creepy pinball game with lackluster tables.

An assortment of homebrew PS1 games. Nostalgic indeed.

* Wolfenstein 3-D: an alright port of the classic FPS.
* The Lion King: nice graphics hide a difficult game.
* Toy Story: amazing graphics but the game is pretty dull.
* Pilotwings: an impressive feat in SNES gaming but it kinda makes me sick.

Bumper Bash
A bare basic pinball game, but that's what you get on Atari 2600.

One of the best pinball games though it is basic.

Mario Pinball Land
Imagine Super Mario 64 but in pinball form. It's alright.

* Shadow of the Beast: decent graphics and music does not make up for a boring game.
* Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine: it's Puyo Puyo but with Sonic characters. It's alright.
* Rocket Knight Adventures: pretty fun but the levels go on way too long.
* Aladdin: good game but the smooth animations works against it at times.
* Gunstar Heroes: a fantastic shooter, one of the best of its kind.

Midnight Magic
An alright pinball game, basic with a floaty ball.

Pac-Man Pinball Advance
This would be fun if the physics weren't bad.

Bart Simpson's Escape from Camp Deadly
It plays rather much like the NES Simpsons games, ergo it sucks.

* Lucky Luke: a pretty good game with smooth graphics and nice music.
* Pac-Man: Special Color Edition: an alright port but it's very awkward on the small screen.
* Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: a bad cash-grab with dreadful controls.
* Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny: Operation Carrot Patch: an alright game with good graphics.
* Croc: decent with good 8-bit music renditions, but the physics are awful.

Video Pinball
Quite an odd pinball game, quirky but not fun.

PC Engine lightning round: 5 games randomly-chosen.
* Batman: a top-down game that's kinda like Pac-Man... what a waste of the license.
* Magical Chase: a great shmup, charming and with more soul that Death's scythe.
* Chew-Man-Fu: put your balls on the panels. It's an alright puzzler.
* Soldier Blade: a mediocre shmup; brainless, mindless, soulless.
* Bonk's Adventure: a decent platformer but can see why it was never the new Mario.

Cinnamon Ball: Kurukuru Sweets Paradise
Sickenly-cute pinball game starring Cinnamoroll and other Sanrio characters.

Basic pinball but the floaty ball physics suck.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
Kiryu lives with a new identity but must fight to keep lying low. It's short but good.

A pretty fun pinball game, one of the better licensed ones.

A fine sidescroller, perhaps one of the best. Love the music.
