  1. As documented by Echelon2, Palantir was involved in 'Team Themis' which attempted to undermine Wikileaks, and its supporters (including Anonymous and Glenn Greenwald), through a campaign of strategic 'attacks'. In agreeing to accept Palantir as one of its sponsors the EFF has called into question the legitimacy of its role as a 'defender of civil liberties in a digital age'. The EFF has been an organization which promotes freedom of speech, privacy and consumer rights on the web. Palantir's history shows they have worked against these very things, especially given their involvement with spying for whoever would pay them the most. Having a sponsor like Palantir at an awards conference for the EFF does not sit right with me and other supporters of the EFF, considering the ideals the EFF has taken upon itself to defend.
