  8. CAPTURING:
  9. Capture the stream from this window: http://player.twitch.tv/?channel=rtainjapan
  10. Please use that link instead of going directly to the twitch page.
  11. Make the window tall enough so that the stream title/icon/volume/watermark etc do not cover up the stream when you move your mouse cursor over it. This is important! Please test that the window is tall enough BEFORE you start making your screen capture regions -- hover your mouse cursor over the window and make sure none of the stuff that appears covers any of the stream.
  12.
  13. LAYOUT:
  14. You don't need a background/overlay image. All the layouts are being handled by the RTAInJapan streamer. All you're doing is capturing that stream from twitch and stretching it to fit the full broadcast window.
  15. In addition to the stream, there are 4 things that you'll be adding on top of it:
  16. 1. The english name of the runner. You can get that here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eBZPbe60-v6RqN5qiTP6eGxcFYBUozyeUa2Yr8Xt8WE/edit#gid=0
  17. 2. The twitch stream of the runner. You can get that from the same sheet. If they don't have a twitch, put their twitter instead. Don't include the "http://" part of the URL. If they don't have either then leave it blank.
  18. 3. The names of the host and commentators.
  19. 4. The microphone icon. Put this next to the commentator names. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/234340352880803842/263447374066745356/HostMic_-_ImpendingDisaster.png
  20.
  21. Here is an example of what it looks like with the stuff added ("CMA", "twitch.tv/CMA2819", mic icon, "Aquas, thelegendofzaheer"):

  23.
  24. Note that widescreen games have a different layout, and races have a different layout, so you might need to move those text elements (and mic icon) around when they change games.
  25.
  26. Between games they're going to be showing a splash screen while they're setting up. You should hide all the overlay stuff (texts and mic icon) during these scenes since they'll be in the wrong place.
  27.
  28. The font that we're using is called "BebasNeue". Here it is: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/234340352880803842/263443549863936003/BebasNeue.otf
  29.
  30. VOLUME:
  31. Try to keep all the hosts/commentators at the same volume level. You can adjust a person's volume by right-clicking their name in the voice channel and adjusting the volume slider. If a person's volume is still really low even at 200% ask them to adjust their microphone settings as follows: http://pastebin.com/vcinCs1m
  32.
  33. MUSIC:
  34. We are NOT using the audio from the RTAInJapan stream. Keep that stream muted. Instead you'll be playing the soundtrack for the game. You can find these soundtracks on YouTube by searching for "<name of game> music" (or "<name of game> soundtrack" or "<name of game> ost").
  35. Disable the "Autoplay" feature in YouTube. It's a slider switch in the top-right corner of the youtube page. This prevents YouTube from advancing to a different video once the current video or playlist finishes.
  36. Whenever possible we'll try to send you links to the soundtracks ahead of time so you don't have to go searching for them.
  37. Make sure the music isn't so loud that it competes with the commentator's voices. You can ask someone in the #general discord chat to help by listening to the volume levels and giving you feedback.
  38.
  39. USE AN AD BLOCKER!
  40. Even if you don't believe in ad blockers please please install one for this marathon. If you don't then Twitch ads will play each time you refresh the stream, and YouTube might end up giving you some ads as well.
  41.
  42. TURN OFF AUDIO NOTIFICATIONS:
  43. In the Discord user settings you can enable "Streamer Mode" which mutes all the notification sounds.
  44. Also check that you don't have anything else running that produces sounds. For example Skype, or your twitch follower alerts.
