  1. Name: Aeridan
  2. Age: 70 (Mostly tree years)
  3. Gender: Male
  4. Sexuality: -
  5. Race: Dryad
  6. Strengths: His lifelong experience and connection to nature lets him thrive in a forest like a human would in a home, seldom getting lost or going hungry.
  7. Strong empathy for the living - including humans, as weird as they are - helps him to befriend many wild creatures!
  8.
  9. Weaknesses: Massively unfamiliar with humans, Aeridan has difficulty relating with, or truly understanding them. This is probably mutual and he's liable to alienate humans he meets.
  10. Poor reflexes, especially after decades being a tree.
  11.
  12. Specialties/skills: Aeridan's lore of flora and fauna borders on the supernatural, knowing all kinds of rituals and folk medicines.
  13. Magical abilities: Mostly harmless nature magic that he can use to sympathetically bond with living things.
  14.
  15. Personality: As a dryad he is serene in his belief that everything is right with the world, comfortable in his tree, and well acquainted with the forest around him. Aeridan leans strongly toward the plant side of his nature, appearing at times as dense or inscrutable because of how differently he understands the world. After so long away in the wild, the "civilised" world fascinates him as a life-form all of its own. Perhaps even one he can love and nurture same as he does the forest that's his home.
  16.
  17. Backstory: Aeridan went to sleep for the winter one year, and stayed there for decades under one pretext or another. Now the spring is soon to arrive, the weird black mold under his third bough to the left, opposite the bole, has stopped growing; and this year's might be the best fruiting EVER. His home and tree is a venerable medlar tree.

  21. Appearance/image
  22. Aeridan is green, pale in the upper body and growing grass from navel to ankle. For clothing, he comes enveloped in wide, flat sheathes of dark leaves that may or may not be growing out of him. He has fronds of willowy brown material growing from his head like hair, but also two little fruiting medlar stems where a stag would have horns. His ears are finlike leaves. His eyes are wrong for a human, without a distinct iris they're flat, mossy searchlights, not unlike a frog's eyes. Budlike scales furl closed instead of eyelids when he blinks.
